One Life to Live Tribute Thread

I was so happy to not see Kale Browne anymore that anyone would have been welcome. When AW started airing on SoapNet, I was sure I would hate him there too but he was way less annoying to me.

I’m worried for Alexis, is Molly about to be written off the show as well? One dead daughter, and two daughters off canvas doesn’t sound great for Alexis.

Jacob is so damn annoying. The fact that he is this convinced that someone he’s family with and who probably considers him a friend, is a murderer is just so mind numbingly stupid. He literally refuses to even listen to any sort of reason at all because yes Smitty has definitely gone from being a reporter to a murderer.

Jude is probably another Jacks brother or enemy of the family. Either way, Jerry or not I just don't care.

@Darn Agree with all of this. Josh had already brought back Linden Ashby as Cameron Kirsten. So another villain from Sharon's past seemed like overkill.
Especially when it was not the original actor(s). And unlike Cameron, Matt died on air.
So that was two strikes against his return. But then after pretty much ignoring that he was supposedly dead, they chose to keep him around, firstly for a reign of terror that had various characters involved in attempts to outsmart him, when all they had to do was CALL THE POLICE.
Then the ridiculous redemption arc where we were expected to buy that because he had amnesia, all his crimes should be forgiven and forgotten...because he felt bad about it. Never mind that he never was punished for the first set of crimes.
It made Phyllis look even more demented and desperate when she began obsessing over him.
The whole thing might have been slightly more palatable had Mitch just been a new character who had it in for Noah because he was banging his wife, That would still have involved the Newmans and he could have been given a different back story.
But this unnecessary return was another indication of Josh Griffith's sloppy writing.
Jamey and Dan better drop Matt pronto.

It's repetitive to say, but Jacob is so desperate for a win he pursue anything regardless of how obviously stupid it is. And of course if he goes after someone in his wife's family he scores extra points for being uncompromised.
It's not a big thing, but the show really should start casting at least moderately successful soap vet in some of these roles. Without previously seeing Smitty's mother the whole reveal fell flat and the only way it would have been more interesting is if the actress was a soap vet. Otherwise the scene could have just be set up like a regular one without any intrigue.
And don't get me started on the pretenious church lady at the coffee shop. Martin was way too polite to her when she clearly giving homophobic and racist overtones.

Just another example of the poor planning and mess the show is currently. If they were going to write her out for more than a couple of weeks, then have Lulu break the Willow story and Nina confesses to protect her, and Drew wanting revenge on both of them backs Nina’s version up, and when she is walked out in cuffs turns to Willow and says you’re next.

I would love a peak into the behind the scenes discussion that went into bringing back Matt Clark for a redemption arc. How did this make it to screen? How are they all just...talking to him? He raped Sharon, Amy and Tricia and framed Nick for murder. He was never good or even misunderstood, there was never an ounce of nuance to this character. He has no ties to anyone outside of the crimes he committed, he has no legacy beyond the harm he inflicted. He was just pure evil. His "relationship" with Tricia was a sign of how mentally ill she was. Now they have Phyllis sleeping with him and we're meant to find it fun to watch?
Was there a referendum from on high to bring on a rapist for Howarth to play? Since that's the majority of his career at this point. I'm not even much of a fan of his but he deserves better than having to play for type across three shows over for 30 years. But mortgages and kids are expensive so I get it.
Was there a discussion at all? Or was Griffith just allowed to do whatever he wants?
This has to be one of the most downright bizarre things I've seen a show pull.

It will never not be funny when people ask when a character is going to appear...and they appear the following week.
