One of my main objections to GL's P. Long era is not so much the Lewises per se but, rather, the failure to integrate them better into the broader canvas. Similarly, while the return of Roger was certainly welcome, its execution and his utilization thereafter seemed flawed. Both these deficiencies could perhaps be addressed by going full-bore ca. '88-'89 with a Reva/Alan marriage (keeping Pilon) and developing further a Josh/Reva/Alan triangle, which could have fueled story by making Alan vulnerable to blackmail on the Marah parentage matter or the like. Armed with some fodder for blackmail, Roger in '89 would have presented a more formidable threat to Alan. The Alan/Roger conflict, with Alan's various secrets exploited by Roger, was a proven winner and story backbone under the Dobsons and could have been adapted, then, to intersect "Jeva" in '89.

Two partial 1981 episodes. I don't think these have been up before? The Diane/Jackie scenes have been up in clip form but the rest I didn't recognize.

Highlights include Vanessa in prime bitchy form, Diane being Diane, the first time I've ever seen Kelly's father. (this is the second "new" Keith Charles footage I've seen this week...someone at GL liked Keith Charles - if not enough to give him a permanent job), more convoluted lore about Quint via a Henry monologue, the awkward moment where Ben tells Morgan she is "foxy," the opening of the Copper Lantern, Floyd's musical debut (he's better on a sax than he is on guitar), another surprisingly rare glimpse of Nola in her vicious schemer days (with Kelly getting drunk this must be right before Kelly Louise's conception), and a surprisingly rare glimpse of Rita by this point in her run.
A few moments.
Amanda "Ingalls" McFadden in the ugliest outfit I've seen on a soap.
Rita showing everyone that no matter how beautiful you are, taking hair tips from Cosmo issues left in the Cedars waiting room is never a good idea.
The room aghast at actually finding surviving footage of Rita and Alan.
Ross doing a twirl and debuting the look Carrie picked out for him (one of her alters had a thing for Jim Jones).
Ross looking at himself in the mirror as he reminds himself that, yes, he is indeed a hot piece of ass.
I took even more screencaps of Ross than that. If I had been watching GL at this time I might have just sat there pointing a camera at the screen during his scenes.

GH: November 2026 Discussion Thread

I actually don't mind the idea of Lucy/Serena starting their own company. I still am confused as to why ELQ taking over Deception is the end of the world when they will still be working and collaborating with the same people Lucy's been working with for years sans Maxie.
I will agree that Brenda Barrett was the perfect face, Lucy! Nice the show finally acknowledged she was the original Face of Deception yet probably wouldn't come out of retirement. Jude mentioning Sonny liked Jax's exes is also a little indirect nugget about her (although it was actually Jax being into Sonny's exes, but I digress..) If I wasn't so jaded by Frank I'd be hopeful
So Britt's good disposition is directly related to how much sex she has? Great. Why does she even care about Jude being related to Jerry? It's not like she's morally superior or has any particular experience with Jerry or Jax that I can recall. I 100% guarantee the Jacks brothers don't care about her lol.
Again, the show can't have it both ways with Heather. She can't be wacky and comedic yet a danger to all society. Pick a lane. Alley Mills goofy confused faces rival my visceral reaction to Violet's singing. I can't.
Honestly, is Sonny even threatening? If I were Jude I would barely take the whispering 60 year old seriously.
I will miss Jane while she's on vacation, but I was traumatized by Brokedown Palace and I hope she gets Dillon out of Thailand soon lol.

Yes, for sure. There was no reason for the photo shoot to be placed on any existing set. They really did not need any "set" for the photo shoot. It could/should have been done in an empty corner of the studio with the white screen behind all the models. This would have looked much more like a professional photo shoot for a multi-national cosmetics company. And I assume it would have cost almost nothing to handle it that way. Doing it in the coffee-shop made the entire thing look amateurish.

I've disabled the verification setting due to member complaints. If the boards get wacky as a result, I will no longer intervene.
Separately, but likely related, I have upgraded the software to its latest version. Hopefully, it helps with any other issues members have brought up across the community.

This young Sydney Bullock is a perfect modern day soap heroine in the making. Pay attention Y&R, this is how you get the audience to care about new young people.
