I think the blood plasma story should conclude at the Cotillion. Like the bad guys should be on to Smitty and attack him while there. Maybe Martin's security detail saves the day and Smitty will have to rethink his choices. IDK - just something to bring everything together into an "umbrella" ending. Remember, Naomi will be there, too, and I'm sure the bad guys will realize that she's "Rashad's" wife at some point.

Why does Jessica's hair and top remind me of Janet Jackson as Willis' girlfriend on Different Strokes?

Do you see her as a villain? I kind of... do. She was a gray character and that was good, but now she is straight up villainous. But, we're supposed to see her as a layered heroine, like Dani.

And, even if they spring on us that she was avenging Doug all along (unlikely), it doesn't excuse that she put her daughter through hell.

There is nothing redeeming AT ALL about Vanessa. I can't stand her.

Elsbeth recently did an episode about a murder at a cotillion and it was well done and had stakes. I'm positive the writers can make cotillion both an event of grandeur and an event that moves plot. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

I agree with everything said here. It looks as though the walls are about to close in on Hayley, and that is the only thing keeping me watching now. Everyone involved seems reinvigorated in just the last three episodes. Where was all this action in February and March?

Seriously asking... How does a play give you a deeper dive into a character's psyche than a soap opera?
