BINGO! The Duprees, despite all of their money and status, appear powerless. Someone elsewhere even labeled them as the black Brady Bunch. 😆 Joey and Heather are criminals displaying actual power. Feels very much done on purpose.

It's funny how things like this appear so meaningless when they actually mean so much.

And it would seem to me like they're being very selective about perceived stereotypical black behaviors. They don't want black male/female gangsters but seem perfectly fine with black male adulterers back to back served up with skeevy flashbacks/explanations for their behavior. Nicole doing whatever in God's name she's doing and not looking very clean doing it. Dani, instead of maintaining self-respect, kisses her cheating ex-husband three times (and likely counting) and is playing in the face of her current husband. Detective Malone is supposed to be a cop but is also a paid killer once he smells the right amount of money, and of course there's Leslie and her ghetto EVERYTHING! Like I said, the NAACP must be absurdly selective.

Unfortunately, it sounds fairly certain that the spoilered individual making their debut on 06/08 is more than likely The Impaler. BTG just doesn't seem to have a penchant for the element of surprise, which is a shame.

I remember the swift pacing of the show last year, especially during that first month. I was absolutely loving how they were just moving things along and getting to the point of characters' movements and motivations. A swifter pace was one of my "pieces of advice" for what I thought would help create a better show in 2025. The Bill/Hayley merry-go-round is purely inexcusable at this point. Like......what is that?

Lol. Baby don't even waste your time in my direction. Playground antics and paranoia had no place with me then, and they certainly have no place with me now. I'm actually thrilled that the show has been awarded time. Because maybe now after so many people have expressed some level of displeasure, they may use this time to consider listening (or not).

Very good. This show is all set to last at least until the end of 2028. I wonder if during this time it'll give us writers who can produce material like this, or will they remain status quo? The latter would be an astounding waste, but, the viewers were pretty much flipped the middle finger during their very first round of "complaining" so there's that.

I absolutely love the part you mention about Jacob winding up in a coma after learning The Impaler's identity. A good scenario would've been Jacob actually coming face to face with the villain whom the audience doesn't see. The look on Jacob's face is utter and complete shock. Then, some mysterious assailant wearing black gloves and holding an extension cord creeps behind Jacob and strangles him into unconsciousness. This puts him in a coma. Very "Edge of Night" like.

What a shame if he is just a fantasy (and he more than likely is). He looks so fresh, shiny, and new. Very nice.

Your first prediction was one of mine a loooooong time ago. Back when Samantha was a "victim" of parental hovering via Martin and Smitty. I'll be more surprised if Jessica isn't pregnant. The added ingredients are there, including Jessica's horrible parents, who would be more than prepared to blame Tyrell for the whole thing.

Dani's and Andre's little dreamworld sequence would feel so much more effective if weren't just filler. Make it actually mean something. Tie it to some plot to Dani's modeling days or better yet, Andre's jetsetting playboy life. Andre doesn't like to be photographed. Add that in. Andre's former life holds dozens of plot line possibilities. Use it. But a silly skit relating to nothing is............nothing.

Recommend Me A Primetime Soap Please!
I wouldn't know how to choose because they all brought something special and unique in their own ways in terms of entertainment, even the short-lived primetimers. Here's one that I was really looking forward to getting to know better. 2000 Malibu Road. It was an Aaron Spelling CBS summer show which only ran for like eight episodes if I recall. It was quite good and ended on a rather disturbing and bizarre cliffhanger.

Kat and Eva certainly don't have to be related for a good grand rivalry to occur between them. Y&R's Katharine and Jill. B&B's Stephanie and Brooke. As well as many others prove that. I think them being half sisters would've at least looked a little better if it wasn't made to look stupid and unreal on Ted's part. I guess it was just too much of a burden for the show to at least mention (because they're not very good at showing) that Ted conducted his own DNA test and got the results. Just accepted the word of a bitter and unhinged mistress on a vengeful mission to torpedo his marriage. OK then.

The soap opera writers' discussion
HENRY SLESAR No discussion of him needed since he was a naturally astounding standout of a writer. I wish his whole entire spirit would embody SOMEONE in the writers' room of Beyond The Gates because it would be the greatest gift that show could receive.
