DAYS: September 2026 Discussion Thread

Welcome to Salem, Mason Whitfield! Hopefully, the writing for you is better than it is for Gus and Liam.

I admit, I do have mixed feelings about this though. I remember thinking that Brandon Butler did a good job as Zach last year, and it's always good to have a character on the canvas that's not related to half of it lol but at the same time, do we really need another new character when there's already enough characters on the canvas that are driving story, and when there are plenty of off screen characters (Andrew, Dimitri, Theresa, Noah, etc.) that should be in Salem, driving story? Idk. I am curious to see what his deal is though, especially since he seems to know of Holly, or at least the Jonases, and clearly doesn't like her. And since Holly was randomly nearly mugged at the end of today lol I wonder if that's going to be tied to Mason somehow.

And yeah, he's cute too 😊😂😂

Btw, was the mugger the same guy that played that douchy reporter that made Sasha go nuts on GH?

Speaking of Holly, I enjoyed her reunion with Maggie. Holly, letting Maggie know about the conversation that Ari overheard could lead to something interesting happening for the two of them. But I do think that we should have actually seen Ari tell Holly about what she heard though. I mean, Ari only overheard EJ and Johnny on Thursday, and already like half of Salem knows lol and I figured that Julie would invite Maggie to come and live with her, but honestly, is there enough room at the Horton house? 😂😂

While I'm glad that it looks like Chanel's cancer isn't as serious as everyone feared, I also can't help but think that if this was all this storyline was going to be, then what was the point of it all? Johnny and Chanel were already in the middle of a great storyline, that could've played out for years, before any of this stuff happened. To have everything with Chanel's pregnancy and cancer be all wrapped up like it was nothing feels like a letdown. I would much, much rather have seen the two of them continue to have conflict over EJ, Sami's rape, etc. And it would be a lot better than Johnny just being EJ's lapdog. I wasn't even that interested in Marlena confronting Johnny about Holly and the Coriseal mess. Mostly because it's just a better story idea for Johnny to be at odds with EJ instead of on his side.

But I did like Abe's scenes with Chanel and Johnny today, and that he got to meet Baby Olivia. Julie, inviting Abe to join the Bereavement Book Club was really nice as well.

David Lambert played "Smolz" on GH and is credited this week on DAYS as "Guy".

Welcome to lethargic September! What is it with this show? They present scenes. Not a show. Nothing ties together. You can now actually see where the actors are being cued because for a split second they are looking off to the side and the show now picks up those cues. Our beloved Days is a mess!

Really enjoyed today's episode. Was a nice watch.

I had to laugh at Mason's non-chill performance after hearing her name. Did he watch the Daniel Jonas Days of our Lives show and is bitter? He would have been more subtle if he wore an I hate Holly Jonas t-shirt.

And while Holly didn't do anything wrong today she should consider the amount of people in town that dislike her and try to drug her regularly.

Maybe Daniel seduced his mother and broke up his parents' marriage 😂

So, Joy's surgery is tomorrow.

I can't help but think that this should have been built up a little more... and also should have been the result of Stephanie actually shooting her. But I did like that Philip had no time for her crap today. He seemed really smart lol smarter than usual. I wouldn't mind him continuing to have a part in this storyline either, especially if it leads to a Philip/Stephanie reunion at some point.

He also seemed pretty smart with Brady as well. I didn't expect him to confess to Brady about Xander and Sarah getting locked in the wine cellar, and I'm interested in seeing what happens as a result of the confession. Hopefully, it all comes to a head at the Daddy-Daughter dance

But Joy's black and white fantasy about marrying Alex was just as eye roll worthy as I thought it was going to be.

Btw, possibly not including Alex and Kelsey as part of the whole dance storyline and using that as a way to cause further conflict for Alex and Stephanie is a really stupid decision.

I also really enjoyed how dorky Xander was today, both about Victoria's birthday and the Daddy-Daughter dance. Paul Telfer plays the role of "girl dad" so well.

And yeah, despite the randomness of it all, Victoria playing the piano, and then singing along with the pianist was absolutely adorable 😊😊😊

Honestly, it put Joy's fantasy to shame.

I may have a joyless, cold heart, but Victoria singing for so LONG gave me Violet from GH vibes. Like whatever, the kids cute, but that was multiple minutes of my time.

@carolineg I was reminded of Violet too, and not in a good way, lol.

Idk, maybe it was because Victoria's still at the age that, when a kid tries to do something cute, it actually is cute 😂😂

Just wait until she starts singing personal songs she writes at everyone's weddings in Salem. To be fair that's probably all Days can afford for entertainment.

It felt very stage parent-y to me. Hey my kid can play piano, and sing, and dance, and be cute. Show IT ALL!!
