Another good episode. I didn't like it as much as I did the season opener, but the ladies are blending very well. The only questions was how would Carole and Erika blend in. Answer: they both did pretty well with me. I am actually wondering if Erika is going to be a dark horse here in the same way Angela over on RHOA was a dark horse housewife her first season where no one knew a lot about her, but she winded up giving a LOT, becoming a fan favorite.
But as much as I love you all, I am going to have to disagree with all this Erin Is the Villain talk. Well, she is. But a good one? The best Housewife villains are the ones who can own what they are doing. And she has a looooong way to go before that. Cuz most of the HW villains...OWN IT. As soon as she was called out on her mess, she tried to deflect. She tried to backpedal. She tried to flip the script. Not to mention the common play victim. BUT never own it really. And as soon as it was resolved...she started up again. If anything she's a wannabe at the least and yes, a Kyle Richards of her show at best.
Now what Erin DOES do that keeps her relevant has been that she really does show everything. She always had from her business to her issues with Abe to her houses. In fact, I was expecting her to be eraggerating the damage from the flood due to how weak she's been so far. I should have known better given she does show it all. So the damage and how she felt about it was refreshing, showing why she should be here.
And then there was the Carole of it. And I liked it. Nice re-introduction. She already seems to have connections within the group. And already have some drama coming in.
Speaking of...
DAISY. I felt she was there for comic relief and she does it just as well as Hailey so good on her. And the stuff with her and the tutor. Lord...
JESSEL. Like I said in the opener, she has truly gotten used to being comfortable on camera. And look at her confrontation with Erin...'cuz you don't have real friends.' OOPS. SHADE!!! She only stumbled in her interaction with Carole. And I hope she apologizes for that once she realized that she put her foot in her mouth. Sometimes people really don't realize they do that and some people are willingly obtuse about it. I felt she was the former. I loathe the latter.
SAI. NO PRE-NUP??? REALLY??? But her and her husbands were high school sweethearts, right? If so, I guess that could make sense. I was still surprised in any case just given how much of her work we have seen in the last three years and given the show would have given her even more exposure. And her moment with Carole was sooooo giving Nene/Phaedra circa RHOA Season 3.
HAILEY. She made me holler by starting in on Erin right after Erin and Jessel made up. lol.
ERIKA. I thought she got a nice introduction. And she was WWE? Okay, Girl! But I really admired her hustle as a workout guru. Moreso because she's married to a millionaire and does not have to work at all. Mad respect! I also like she is already peeking Erin and her pot stirring. She did it in Episode 1 and again here in Episode 2. Very intriguing if that will lead to some payoff by the end of the season.
CAROLE. I also loved that Carole told off on Erin and her talking behind Jessel's back. I giggled at her talking about her love life cuz Adam who? And of course, her just getting to know the group. She did a good job so far.
ERIN. Now if you are going to give a toast shading someone, a real villain would back it up. I guess if Erin does become the villain this season, I hope she pulls a Drew in her first season with Sheree where Sheree had her on the ropes the first half, but Drew came into her own by the end of the season. Time will tell because she ended the episode still stirring the pot with Jessel. And we already know she's coming for Hailey tonight. One thing about Erin...good or bad...she is not boring.
Again...good episode.
