  1. Maybe it’s just me but I hate the Society set. It feels better suited for a show like Days, than for Y&R. It’s not ugly I just hate it for this show.
  2. Megan is a very punchable character. Happy to hear she dies soon. Probably the only way you can end a storyline like this with such an awful character. The way she’s trying to intimidate that poor kid Sam. I feel so bad for him! I also agree with the other posters on here who were commenting on Theo and Todd’s relationship. Theo is a real jerk. Hes hot, but very much a jerk. The way Todd is just letting him take control of his life so easily without even putting up a fight is kind of confusing though. I understand how abuse works, but I don’t quite understand why he’s so easily willing to let him take over like this. Does Theo have something on him that is incriminating? I have no prior context given that I just started watching from January 2026 onwards.
  3. I definitely will! I was so pleased to see that there’s so many old episodes on YouTube.
  4. I despise Carl with a passion. He’s awful! But I totally buy the storyline happening right now with Debbie trying to do right by him by taking the blame for the New Years accident. It certainly makes for some good drama with Debbie being in jail (which is where I’m at now). We can’t even get a real jail set on Y&R these days due to their budget issues. I love when soaps show characters in jail and what that looks like for them on the inside. I will admit I’ve taken a pivot as of today since it’s my day off I have decided to watch some classic episodes starting from December 2002. Lots of drama surrounding Kevin and Sally’s upcoming wedding. I am excited because I know lots of people have said the old episodes are much better. I still plan to continue watching new episodes and I will go back to it soon.. (I’m up to March 2026 now).
  5. It’s so funny because I was this close to saying “I think im actually starting to enjoy Phyllis again.” They actually had me rooting for her against the Newmans and all the judgy people in town because of her taking over Victors company.. but ofcourse they have to go and write her into the Matt Clark storyline and she’s back to being overexposed again. She is like the Taylor Swift of the soap world. She just has to be everywhere all the time until you get absolutely sick of seeing her.
  6. Corrie moves so fast compared to U.S soaps. You blink and you miss a major plot twist. It’s definitely not a show I can multitask and scroll on TikTok while watching. (I’ve gotten in the habit of doing that with Y&R. You really don’t miss much anyways.) Sometimes I think I’ve missed a scene or entire episode because of how they just carry along with stuff so quickly. I like certain aspects of that but other aspects not so much. I feel like certain things do get missed with the speed of their storytelling but I haven’t gotten bored watching it yet, so that should tell you something.
  7. I got thinking last night about who my Mount Rushmore of soap actors/actresses would be and I would be curious to hear other people’s top 4. You could list your top 4 men, and top 4 women or just your top 4 in general. Keep in mind that mine is going to reflect my limited soap watching experience (I am a millennial) so the soap legends or icons I am familiar with or gravitate towards are mostly actors who i grew up watching on screen from the 90s onwards. I’ll go: Women: Victoria Rowell Eileen Davidson Sharon Case Arianne Zucker Men: Ben Masters Justin Hartley Peter Bergman Kristoff St. John
  8. I hope so. I miss Eileen. Since I’ve returned to watching Y&R, Ashley has been gone and I wasn’t around for her most recent storyline that JG wrote for her a couple years ago. I’ve seen Traci more than Ashley (which is great) but it’d be nice to have all the Abbotts around.. in a supporting role ofcourse for the younger characters like Kyle.
  9. Oh no I just more-so meant to the people responding to my post. You can post what you want in this thread. I don’t make the rules around here 😝
  10. Well I’m still in January 2026, I am quickly getting to the end of January though. I love that the episodes are short so it’s easy to catch up pretty quickly if you’re a new viewer and wanting to watch some older episodes. That Megan is quite the creep eh? Messing with teenage school boys. When I first started getting into this storyline I had to double check Wikipedia if my eyes and ears were picking up what they were putting down cause I was kind of in shock that modern soaps are telling such a scandalous story such as this. U.S soaps would never! It’s ofcourse some very disturbing subject matter but good on Corrie for still being willing to take risks with their storytelling. Take note Y&R because this is what you guys used to do, and did WELL. Those days are long gone. Interested to see what direction this Jodie character is going in. It looks like she is up to some sneaky business. Is she gonna go after her sisters man? I wonder. They just showed in the most recent episode I watched her fabricating a story to Shona about being abused based on what was discussed in her therapy group session thing by another woman. I am interested to see where this goes. I love this Debbie character so much. The actress is great. I guess Carl is her son but no one knows yet? Explains why she’s willing to go to such great lengths to protect him. He’s a complete brat though and doesn’t deserve anything she’s doing for him! I hope he gets what he deserves soon. Carla is a lesbian now?! Boy I have missed a lot. This couple does have great chemistry though. The acting is just so natural and it’s 100% believable that she and Lisa are in love. I love seeing how they fight but then they’re drawn back together. I missed this whole storyline though with the psycho ex causing trouble. That’s okay. I’m excited to see what comes next for them. While watching Todd’s scenes, I really thought I was watching a new character. When I googled him I saw a photo of the previous actor and I’m like.. OH I remember him! I really don’t know much yet about his storyline other than he and his partner Theo are having problems. Glad to see Tracy is still Tracy. Loved that she locked that Cassie character in the bathroom. That made me laugh! I was surprised to see she’s still somewhat involved with Steve and they still seem to be doing this back and forth stuff with eachother. I’d love to see them back together. You can go bye=bye Cassie! From what I read she is leaving anyways.
  11. I also love that they still have a very large cast. A lot of soaps tend to cut down on their characters to save money
  12. Compared to American soaps? 100%
  13. I haven’t watched Corrie in about 15 years. I watched Tracy Barlows return in 2010 and continued watching through most of 2011. I just picked it back up last night January 2026 onwards. I’m really enjoying it even though I don’t necessarily know who a lot of these characters or stories are, I am slowly catching on again. I ofcourse recognize all the characters who’ve been on the show for years. I know people complain that all these shows are declining but considering Y&R has been my only soap for a couple years, I am enjoying watching what true soap storytelling looks like again.
  14. Phyllis and Matt definitely have chemistry and that is undeniable, but I hope they aren’t going in that direction. Matt is a rapist and a psychopath. Phyllis is a lot of things but it would be out of character and ridiculous for her to fall for him. Patty and Matt? Now that makes more sense given how unhinged and crazy they both are.
  15. The stories don’t feel like they flow properly with the actors episode counts being down so much. They’ll be in the middle of a big story and then BAM next episode it’s a totally new set of characters and different stories being showcased. It’s bugs. I wish they could stay consistent..
