Could all these kidnapping plots be due to the low budget? A way to generate some kind of fan reaction without having to involve any other sets or characters to tell a cohesive story? All you need is a room that a character can be locked in for a couple weeks. Theres really not much else required right?

Noah and Sienna were kidnapped by Matt Victor orchestrated a fake kidnapping of Lily and the kids Sharon and Noah were kidnapped (again) by Matt. It’s ridiculous. That’s why I said in another thread it feels like we’re just being trolled at this point. No way JG is sitting there thinking “oh this will be new and interesting” every time he does another kidnapping story.

Yeah I’m not a fan of how the stories are being presented right now either. I do remember complaining about how for weeks all that was showcased was the Matt Clark storyline and we had Nick and Sharon on our screens every single day after MONTHS of barely seeing them at all. I stopped caring to see them because they were being overexposed for weeks. Now it seems like they’re focusing heavily on Patty/Jack&Diane entirely instead of having any balance with other stories. I want to see more Jack and Diane, and Patty for that matter.. but if it’s just gonna be force fed to us every single day all at once, this is gonna get old QUICK.

Ugh that’s a bummer. How are we supposed to follow the story if there’s a bunch of episodes missing? Hopefully they figure out a better way to deliver these episodes to us in the future like how Bold has done.

Don’t get me wrong I am loving this new Phyllis and Sharon friendship but I couldn’t help but take notice today of how boring the writing is for the female rivalries of this show under JG. He does plenty of male rivalries somewhat well but the women are just all holding hands singing kumbaya? We have Victoria and Sally in the park talking about how much they wish eachother well and blah blah blah. Yeah it’s all very sweet but where is the DRAMA? Are we forgetting this is a soap? The Audra and Claire drama is boring again and basically non existent. The only female character bringing anything interesting is Patty with her wanting Diane out of the picture. The women are far too tame for my liking. I know we are living in different times and women have evolved in the real world but this is still a soap.

Does that mean Phyllis is Kathy Griffin? 😅

I wanna wait for enough episodes to save up and then start binge watching. Are they uploading a bunch of episodes in order from 98 onwards? I wish they’d go a little further back to atleast the early 90s but I’ll take what I can get. Great quality too.

Wow how did they manage not to catch on to that? That’s a pretty big error. So when we see Jack again back in Genoa City are we just supposed to pretend he wasn’t with Diane in Fairmont Crest?.. please tell me they have a way of explaining that lol

The original Noah, Kevin Schmidt was good IMO. His relationship with Eden may have been a flop but he played the part well atleast.. his complicated relationship with his parents and how he was affected by the Phick relationship were all interesting things being played out at the time. His character just became more and more basic over time and lacked any kind of substance. I don’t even blame the actors that played him after because I actually thought they were all decent. The writing just wasn’t good. They never invested enough into his character and always invested more into keeping Nick and Sharon front burner instead of bringing up that new generation. I think of the Faith character in the same way. I loved all the actresses who played Faith. They just never gave her character a real chance to flourish.. Back when Shick and Victoria were aged up, they managed to give that new generation of Newmans front burner storylines while still making sure Nikki and Victor were relevant and had front burner storylines too so I don’t see why they can do that with Shick and Victorias kids now too..

It’s so bad.. and when’s the last time we saw a jail, hospital or court room? There has been plenty of opportunity’s for those kind of sets to be used but it just all happens off screen now. It’s so annoying!

The scene between Lily and Victoria at the new shadow room opening had me cracking TF up! I never usually care about Lily at all but seeing her stand up to Victoria was great. “I’m sure your mom can find something else to do.” 🤭 SO good.

I absolutely hate the way this Matt Clark story is developing into as of late. Are they really gonna try to redeem Matt Clark? That’s insulting.. Now he’s living on the ranch? Just a few feet from Sharon and Noah, Victoria and Adam and Chelsea?! And how do they all feel about him being there? That’s so dumb. I can’t even begin to make sense of any of this… lol

With Sally being pregnant and Adam and Chelsea talking about having another baby I wonder if they’re setting up a baby switch storyline

So the Newmans are all standing around wondering how they can go after Matt now that he has amnesia? As if that matters or changes anything? He’s still Matt Clark. He still committed multiple crimes. Throw him in jail maybe? Why are they acting like this is such a dilemma lol

I have a feeling the actress is on medication or something. I watched a clip of her from 2023 and she seemed completely fine. She had expressions in her face. Now it’s like she’s just spacey all the time.

Maybe it’s just me but I hate the Society set. It feels better suited for a show like Days, than for Y&R. It’s not ugly I just hate it for this show.

Megan is a very punchable character. Happy to hear she dies soon. Probably the only way you can end a storyline like this with such an awful character. The way she’s trying to intimidate that poor kid Sam. I feel so bad for him! I also agree with the other posters on here who were commenting on Theo and Todd’s relationship. Theo is a real jerk. Hes hot, but very much a jerk. The way Todd is just letting him take control of his life so easily without even putting up a fight is kind of confusing though. I understand how abuse works, but I don’t quite understand why he’s so easily willing to let him take over like this. Does Theo have something on him that is incriminating? I have no prior context given that I just started watching from January 2026 onwards.

I despise Carl with a passion. He’s awful! But I totally buy the storyline happening right now with Debbie trying to do right by him by taking the blame for the New Years accident. It certainly makes for some good drama with Debbie being in jail (which is where I’m at now). We can’t even get a real jail set on Y&R these days due to their budget issues. I love when soaps show characters in jail and what that looks like for them on the inside. I will admit I’ve taken a pivot as of today since it’s my day off I have decided to watch some classic episodes starting from December 2002. Lots of drama surrounding Kevin and Sally’s upcoming wedding. I am excited because I know lots of people have said the old episodes are much better. I still plan to continue watching new episodes and I will go back to it soon.. (I’m up to March 2026 now).

It’s so funny because I was this close to saying “I think im actually starting to enjoy Phyllis again.” They actually had me rooting for her against the Newmans and all the judgy people in town because of her taking over Victors company.. but ofcourse they have to go and write her into the Matt Clark storyline and she’s back to being overexposed again. She is like the Taylor Swift of the soap world. She just has to be everywhere all the time until you get absolutely sick of seeing her.
