  1. You’re absolutely right. It is my opinion. I love expressing my opinions on forums that are designed for.. expressing opinions 🥰
  2. I’m not sure what JG’s obsession is with cougars but it’s getting… old.. 😬
  3. Nick and Sharon are just acting like it’s some minor inconvenience that Matt is alive and Nicks attitude is like “Yeah I guess I’ll swing guy and confront this guy when I get around to it!” And now that Noah is already out of his coma, that is overshadowing the Matt situation too because they’re obviously going to be very happy with the good news. The pacing of this storyline is just so off. Noahs coma could have gone on longer while Nick and Sharon are secretly trying to dig up information about Matt Clark before the confrontation even happens but we have already gotten to the point where Noah is awake & Nick confronts Matt, all in the matter of a few episodes. It doesn’t even feel like there’s a story happening here at all. Just one “shocking” moment after another which comes off as a desperate attempt to get the ratings up. I hope the audience doesn’t fall for it. I’m just about done watching for awhile until JG is finally out..
  4. I hate how JG only focuses on one storyline at a time. Today’s CDN episode is just all scenes from L.A involving Noahs accident & the mystery around Matt Clark. This is why the audience gets tired of storylines so quickly because there’s no variety of story’s happening it’s just all heavily featured on one thing until the audience goes mad. This is why the sh*t with Dumas and France became exhausting after about a week. This is supposed to be a soap. Where are all the other story’s? They’re gonna have Nick and Sharon on everyday for a month and then they’ll disappear for 3 months while he heavily focuses on another storyline that will get tiring and old as f*ck quickly because there’s no BALANCE!!
  5. I’d be ok with Nick, Sharon, Victoria, Adam, Chelsea, etc taking a back seat into a more supporting role for their kids. Even Conner and Christian can be aged up at this point, so much time has passed. The oldest vets like Victor, Nikki, Jack, Jill, and Ashley making occasional appearances.
  6. 100% I always had the same thoughts until I started watching early 2000s Days over the past month (full episodes) and it made me realize that you could introduce a BOAT load of new younger characters if the writing is solid. Imagine Days 80’s fans tuning in one day to see Philip, Shawn, Belle, Claire, Jan, Mimi, etc (Even Sami, Austin, Brandon, Lucas) were not on Days THAT long by the early 2000’s and the show must have looked unrecognizable to some long time Days viewers.. and yet, somehow it worked. It proved to me that you can transform a show and still captivate an audience if you can write it properly. The reason a lot of these attempts to “rejuvenate” or “modernize” Y&R hasn’t worked ever is because they just aren’t doing it properly. The vets are the only thing they have to rely on because the stories absolutely suck. They had it structured so well too in the early 2000s so the stories all felt like they fit and it was a well oiled machine. Y&R had that same thing going with their younger characters in the early 2000s too. Not sure why it can’t be done again. I’m not buying it’s a budget issue either because they’re able to spend money on stupid sh*t. It just doesn’t work.
  7. Total missed opportunity for Sharon to clutch her pearls at Claire’s drinking and act overprotective in that moment because of what just happened with Noah & wanting to make sure she has a ride home. Something along those lines would have added to the scene but I know a little consistency would be asking too much. The episode overall was more watchable than anything from the past couple weeks though other than the last 10 seconds (Matt Clark reveal).
  8. Yup. He’s writing his own show at this point. Absolutely zero regard for these characters or their true history. Bringing in a new relative for Sharon and tying that to the Noah story would have made for great drama. The sky is the limit in terms of writing the backstory behind who Sharon’s family is and what they’re involved in.. but hey we couldn’t possibly expect the HEAD WRITER of the #1 daytime drama to have an imagination could we?
  9. Early March 2001 Episodes - Philip/Chloe I wanna get into this couple but I find them boring. I can appreciate the build up the writers are putting in to build their romance but I just don’t feel the chemistry with them. I like both characters separately just not together. I’m looking forward to the Brady/Chloe romance to start to be honest. I see more chemistry there. This is still a good set up though for future storyline if they plan to make Philip the villain who comes between Brady and Chloe in the future. Sami/Brandon Boy does Brandon look hot as sh*t in only a towel. You can tell he was putting in the WORK at the gym. His loyalty to Sami is quite something and if I were Sami I would drop Austin like a hot potato and just go with this guy. Of course, we know a guy like Brandon wouldn’t really look at Sami twice in the real world except for maybe a one night stand. I do feel the chemistry with these too though and the actor playing Brandon is making me believe he genuinely likes her. Stefano/Lexie baby drama They’ve introduced 2 new characters who are connected to Marlo but I’ve only seen them in one episode so far so I’m yet to find out their story. I recognize the woman (Tamara Clatterbuck) because she played Alice on Y&R. I am curious to see how this story progresses because I wanna know if Lexie actually goes to Paris to hide out with the baby for a period of time before sh*t really hits the fan and everything is exposed. I’m sure it wouldn’t be on location or anything but I do love the different sets they incorporated back then. It’s one of the main reasons it’s been so exciting to watch these old episodes. Jennifer/Jack It’s funny to me how soaps used to act like stalking was cute back then. Jack being portrayed as this light hearted funny character while he’s literally STALKING Jennifer and she’s doing everything in her power to get away from him. I’m not actually offended or anything.. I do love them as a couple. It’s just an interesting observation I had since I know there would be no way that kind of writing would fly today. It was nice to see Jack and Jennifer pop up again though around the March 8th episode. I actually wouldn’t mind a bit more airtime for them and I hope they do become more front-burner again as I continue to watch these episodes.
  10. It just makes me mad that JG is using up all of the potential Shick stories that were sort of buried gems yet to be unearthed again .. (Cameron, Matt) who’s going to return next year… Grace? He’s proven that he sucks at writing these stories and he’s waisting them. These kind of returns could have led to years of potential story. Cameron’s return was wrapped up in a matter of months and that could have played out in so many more interesting ways.
  11. No.. and I don’t know what kind of show would suit his writing style, but it certainly is not soaps.
  12. Yeah between Sheridan and Theresa, I can’t decide which character he liked to write for the most. Which is why it surprised me how he wrote for Sheridans character near the end and how he just completely gave up on ‘Shuis’. I will say, Sheridan was more interesting as a b*tch but I feel bad for the Shuis fans who were hoping for the same kind of happy ending Ethan & Theresa got.
  13. I enjoyed Sally Sussmans writing. If I remember correctly she really favoured the character of Hillary and was writing a lot for her around that time. The Mariah & Hillary rivalry thing seemed odd but I liked just about everything else
  14. Michaels whole storyline this year revolving around Victor & how he would suck a fart out of Victors a**hole just doesn’t sit right with me 😕 Glad to see Nikki and Victoria will be in L.A too. Hopefully that will make for some good scenes. I wonder if Claire will be annoyed with her mom breathing down her neck. Kyle is really coming across as simp-ish chasing after Claire. Maybe if he gives Claire some space she will actually start to become interested again.
  15. All the creepy background sounds that the show used during any of Sheila Carters scenes were always my favourite. Made the hairs on my neck stand up 👀. I wish they could bring those back.
  16. Yeah it’s pretty bad. This show could and SHOULD be able to do much better!
  17. That’s also why I included “we shall see” in my initial comment because I have no idea if this is all we are getting or if there will be more, and neither do you for that matter. I don’t mind the L.A night club. It’s cute. It’s nothing special, but it’s fine. I didn’t exactly have high hopes for the set usage for L.A after what we witnessed earlier this year for the Dumas storyline. In some ways though, I’m just thankful we aren’t having to see the same 4 or 5 sets and atleast getting something different.
  18. Oh, well probaly because I wasn’t referencing that article. “Sharon Case (Sharon) tells Soap Opera Digest that she’s loving every second of it. “We have new sets,” she enthused.”
  19. February 2001 Coronation/post Coronation massacre episodes - Bradys luscious blonde hair I’m sure did not do him any favours for beating the allegations in 2001, especially in those hospital scenes with Marlena. The show should have just leaned into it. C*nty Brady is a whole vibe! Speaking of hair, Why did Sami decide to dye her beautiful blonde hair after the Coronation to that god awful orange/red colour? It doesn’t do her any favours. It needs to be just a tad bit darker so it’s more of a darker red and then it could totally work. I must have been tuning out at certain points cause I totally missed the part where the audience was in on Victor faking his death. I genuinely thought Nicole and Philip were grieving but was kind of confused why Philip didn’t seen more sad. If the audience was NOT supposed to be in on it, the reveal of Victor being alive should have been WAY more suspenseful and important but it literally was just a random scene after Kate and Lucas at the mansion on a Wednesday with not even any background music to build up the moment. Either way, it’s a good twist and I’m enjoying it.
