DAYS: November 2026 Discussion Thread

Days is back to being uploaded at 5 AM!

Too bad that there wasn't much to talk about today.

But I like that we got some follow up with EJ and Sydney. I like the way that they're writing her; she has some similarity to EJ but at the same time, she's not his full on puppet. Sydney Malakeh is continuing to do a good job as well. And I would totally be on board going against EJ and siding more with the Evans-Black/Brady side of her family, the same way that Johnny should have. Plus, I imagine Marlena's gonna need her family now, especially now that Dominic is in Salem. Despite all the spoilers, the reveal with him and Rita at the end was actually pretty good. Idk about him walking around town in a creepy mask and a feathered hood though 😂

And yeah, I gotta say it again lol he's very handsome 🥰😊

I'm still curious to find out how Days was able to keep Kyle Pryor's casting a secret for so long. I mean, we already know spoilers about June of 2027 😂😂

Btw, now that Cat remembered her orders and turned down EJ's romantic advances today, it would be a good time for Andrew to come to Salem as well.

The Day of the Dead thing with Alex and Joy was kind of weird and random though, but I'm glad that Days is once again acknowledging Adrienne as Alex's mother. And that Joy pointed out the incestuous vibes between him and Stephanie lol

Speaking of Stephanie, I'm interested in seeing what happens now that she's confronted Joy about taking muscle relaxants. The gloves finally came off for the two of them today. I was more impressed by Abigail Klein than by AlexAnn Hopkins though. Despite all the clunkiness and some mistakes, I do like the way that this has all been structured and I am looking forward to the climax of all of this.

And I'm also somewhat interested in seeing what happens now that it looks like Philip is falling off the wagon and going to gamble again. Btw, are they gonna go there with him and Sydney?

I don't really know what to make of Sydney. The actress is fine, but the show doesn't really seem to have a plan for her. It feels more like she was cast first and they'll decide later. Half the time I think she's flirting with her future step father and I can't be the only one that thinks that lol. She vapes, she gambles, and is also an amazing lawyer yet last year she was so traumatized by EJ's shooting that he had to go on an extended visit to calm her panic attacks. TBH, SM doesn't even look like she'd be Sami/EJ's daughter. I don't feel like SM/Sydney are entire bust or anything. She's kind of just there lol.

I see what you mean.

On the one hand, I agree that they really need to pick up the pace with her (and a lot of other characters too) but on the other hand, I'm glad they're not really rushing her into being like a lead or something. They seem to be phasing her in gradually, as opposed to just flat out shoving her down our throats 😂

I'm curious to see if they're going to go there with her and Philip though.

I loved Joy calling out Alex on him and Stephanie being cousins. And he completely contradicted himself trying to justify it.

I was never a fan of Ron and co. trying to diminish Adrienne’s presence in Alex’s life just to make him and Stephanie work

The fire that she had yesterday continued on today… and as a result made Alex look kinda stupid 😂

I can see how some fans might think she was being a real douche or was acting flat out crazy today lol but I was on her side the whole time. As a character, she finally has agency over her own life and is no longer just Alex’s little woman. And that was the right decision for this storyline despite some mistakes lol and while I do like Alex, it’s refreshing in some ways to see him as a character with actual flaws.

I somewhat enjoyed Philip/Gabi/Sydney as well, despite Philip being a little bit of a dope today. But the potential conflict for all of them could end up being a pretty good mess, especially considering the spoilers and rumors that we already know. But yeah, a secret poker game in the back room of Small Bar feels really sudden and random.

And I’m also interested in seeing what’s going to happen now that Sydney knows that EJ disowned Johnny. I liked the way that she was there for him today. I didn’t have much of an interest in the two of them finding out about EJ possibly trafficking illegal goods through Dimera shipping though.

Mostly about Sophia today.

I imagine that any fans of Sophia (if she has any lol) will enjoy today, especially her scenes with Kristen where they discussed motherhood and all the mistakes that they each made this year. But none of that did too much for me, not because it was bad or boring but because of Kristen and Sophia, in general. Sophia encountering Chanel and Trey in the Square didn't do much for me either.

I preferred Holly and Ari discussing Sophia and how the caller at the Mental Health Hotline sounded a lot like her. I wouldn't mind the two of them and Tate/Aaron somehow working together to try and unravel this mystery about Sophia. The four of them having a seance wasn't really necessary though. But despite Aaron coming off as a little campy and clowny during the seance, it was nice to see him again and that he got to spend some time with his son. I'm glad that we didn't have to sit through his Salem Ghost Tour again though lol last year was bad enough.

I do think that Ari and Aaron's relationship should be playing out onscreen more. There's so much that can be done with the two of them #Liam

But I did think Brady was used very well today too, both when Tate was comforting him and later on with Sarah. It was a nice closure moment for the two of them, even though there were a few moments where they both seemed to come off as unfeeling or douchy to each other lol I wonder if it was written that way or if they were choices by both Eric and Lindsey. Personally, I think it was the latter, because I didn't get the impression of either of them being unfeeling to each other constantly throughout their scenes.

And I agree with Xander 100% about what he said to Marlena today; both he and Sarah need to work on making their relationship work this time and I'm glad that he was able to discuss all that with Sarah too. I'm interested in seeing all that play out.

The cliffhanger with Holly and Sophia was pretty good too.

I quite like it. Very restrained compared to some of the 'Hollywood Homes' we see. Ken should put some of the profit into the Days budget.
