To be clear, I'm not saying the episode itself is bad. I'm just saying before you judge it give it a chance beyond episodes one, two, or even three.

I'm giving the show at least 13 weeks before saying anything too critical about it.  I figure that's enough for the writing staff to uncover what is and is not working and make the necessary adjustments.

I'm also not even going to bother reading all the posts before mine whenever I'm in this thread, because life is too short and my ass is too uncomfortable, lol.

Opening up to The Emotions "Best of my Love" is EPIC. That lets me know that NAACP & P&G are not afraid to put up some money for this show to be a success. I think that the tax break they are getting here in GA might allow them to redirect funds into something cute like music in future episodes.

That aside, I enjoyed it. I think my only gripe (and it isn't major) is that we didn't need Ashley and Derek to premiere today. They could've been saved for Wednesday or Thursday episodes. I wanted to see more of Chelsea and Dani the nagging tension those two have. Don't know if it was just me, but I expect them to clash heavily in the future.

I didn't mind the hospital set. Yes, it was bright, but that might be a lighting issue. They might need to take a nod from the John Conboy school of lighting and possibly dim the lights on the hospital set.

I think Bill's office has to be my favorite set from the first episode. I am wondering what he is going to want to be paid in the future for the guy he gave a favor to.

Yeah, watching on Paramount+ right now and I totally understand why they swapped the opening for the first episode from the one I saw (Soaps.com also posted what I saw originally). This opening makes more sense since only Mike Manning doesn't appear in the first episode while the other characters do.

Why is it still just showing the five preview specials on my P+? Today’s Y&R and B&B are up, and BTG switched from “Watch Trailer” to “Watch Now,” but still just the previews.

Re: using real music. ATWT was using real music semi-regularly up to the end, I believe. Is there a connection (other than P&G)?

"Of course, some of that hard work is being undone," from the former Congressman, is diabolical.

I really appreciate that they added that in, even if it was very obviously added in, after the fact.  We know they started filming just before Election Day.  I'm glad we're not pretending we don't know these characters' political leanings.  I look forward to seeing how that is handled when we get further in - to scripts that were written more recently.

The full episode is now on Paramount+:

Don't see a clickable link on CBS.com.

For cbs, just keep the same URL and substitute cbs.com for paramountplus.com.
This works for most CBS shows (daytime and primetime), I've discovered.  The link is shown first on PPlus, but not obvious on cbs.com at first, but just substitute as described and it works.

So it's here:

Intro for pilot if anyone missed it:

The last two shots kind of merging/replacing each other was cool!

I will say I don't get Marquita Goings opening credit - she's giving way too much sass with the eye blink and from the first episode you'd think she's more innocent, but maybe there's something unfolding there 😂

I actually didn’t notice this in the live viewing or Paley scnreening, but the episode begins with “A CBS Studios and P&G Studios Production”
