But I understand what some are saying. They should've had a last episode for TV. I mean it is ending even though Peacock picked it up. NBC cancelled it.

Generally, once an hour has been given back to affiliates, that's it, and the hour doesn't go back to the network so DAYS is either going to succeed on Peacock or it's over.

The question is whether DAYS is sustainable on a daily basis, or whether this experiment might flop and whether DAYS will transition into something else rather than a daily show. Perhaps arcs, perhaps twice a week, perhaps once a week but run every week of the year.

The timeline and way this news was delivered is the surprise.  Moving them to Peacock was totally expected, just not quite like this.

I can only assume they have to renegotiate their contracts to film anything beyond their 8 months already taped.  I know their filming style has kept them financially viable, but if anything, more care is going to be needed and required to keep going.

And let’s get those classic episodes up to stream!  Please!

I totally agree with you. Even if disrupts continuity, they should wedge in an episode specifically shot to say goodbye to those network viewers who won't or can't follow the show to Peacock. Even if it's simply an episode where everyone is happy, like what Australia's Neighbours just did, where it's clear that life will go on, with the full theme music, that should be done. The network viewing audience deserves it.

If they start charging Comcast people for premium they will lose some of them, as Comcast mentions in their bills how it is a part of the subscription and originally it was added when they dumped other movie stations. They eliminated NBCsportsNet and Olympic Channel too, so a lot less events are available on tv as it is.

When it comes to getting rid of recurring younger performers I wonder if this situation was a way to cut the cast and save money. And Corday knew the possibility for some time.

OK the Ideal Effort would Be, either announcing it properly and it Getting to streaming On The Next Season or The Next Anniversary not saying that out of the blue and giving us 1 month to process this major change, second be smart and See What could be done to increase the audience before the change, get a group to avail the pre taped episodes see where the best opening would be to Retool the storylines, if peacock wants exclusivity give them the Axed Episodes as Alternative Days, them make the needed changes to accommodate it to streaming, and Fire the writing team if necessary if they can't do a proper job, It might've took time And Money but It sure would bring much money back to them too

Not to pour salt in the wounds, but it doesn't inspire confidence when one of the largest CBS affiliates wants to expand news rather than daytime programming

CBS to Expand AM News at LA Stations; KCAL to Air Local Morning News for First Time Ever

I almost feel ashamed of saying that, but could a Generous soul be so kind that if they have access to these free episodes while they're still available and has any way of Downloading/Saving them be so good to let me have them too? I know most of you are saying the show is crap right now but I still would like to watch while I can, and since there's so little time left I'm just swallowing my pride here

That they are going to make Days a premium program is what's going to kill it. Not enough will pay to see it.

I personally would definitely not pay to see any new episodes either. But if they were to upload their old episodes from 1965-1995, then they'd have a customer

I do wonder what our CBS affiliate will do this fall with an hour they have open?? I have a feeling we will get more news too and B&B moved to 1pm away from its YR lead in.

My only problem with that is that it will probably cause a Witch hunt for any episodes from the time, I'll have to run if I want to save all I have access to and put them in my personal collection, Now doesn't seem so random for Ms. Goldie's channel to have been brought down! REALGOODTV is quite petty with episodes of The Doctors, a closed Facebook Group I'm part of recently had a few 1980 ones shared for members only to watch, apparently we had a spy...

Same with some Y&R channels lately

They should have announced it at upfronts when NBC and the other traditional networks, streaming channels, and cable had an afternoon or day to promote their programming. Waiting barely a month is crazy, as advertisers would have paid for time on Days on NBC not for local programming or a news show. if advertisers did know surprised it didn’t leak.

    • This makes me think of that famous quote from COOL HAND LUKE,  "What we've got here is failure to communicate." I did not bring up "apparently" to try to get across either truth or validity, but doubt. If I had been sure, I would have said something entirely different. But, I'm not trying to argue, I hear you & I will comply. Besides that, I will endeavor to word things differently. I am never against trying to improve.
    • That’s been my main issue with his response. It didn’t feel that earned by what came before. Definitely needed to see more of the Richardsons as a full family unit prior to all of this.
    • Bingo! I thought the exact same thing. Martin's anger feels so out of place, because we've hardly seen him interact with his parents. Vernon and him have more of a father/son relationship and we've seen their dynamic more fully play out. While obviously Ted and Marton are father and son, it felt a bit empty because we haven't really seen them bond or truly connect in any scenes.
    • Leslie inferred over 20 years ago, so Eva and Kat are over 20 at least
    • As it happens, 40 years ago this week, ABC and CBS revealed their 1985-86 fall schedules. NBC revealed theirs the week before. ABC's would end up changing. The original plan for Tuesdays was to have Diff'rent Strokes lead the night, with He's the Mayor at 8:30, followed by Who's the Boss at 9, Growing Pains at 9:30, and Moonlighting at 10. There was some surprise over MacGruder & Loud not getting renewed, but it was considered part of Aaron Spelling's declining influence at the network. Yes, Dynasty was still a hit (for a while longer), but Aaron's shows steadily took up less and less of the schedule. Fall 1984: Seven hours, five of which were new programming (Dynasty, Hotel, Glitter, Matt Houston, T.J. Hooker, The Love Boat, Finder of Lost Loves; MacGruder & Loud aired at midseason, by which time Glitter was gone.). Fall 1985: Five hours, two of which were new programming (Dynasty, Hotel, The Colbys, Hollywood Beat, The Love Boat). Fall 1986: Three-and-a-half hours, a half-hour of which was new programming (Dynasty, Hotel, The Colbys, Life With Lucy). Fall 1987: Two hours, none of which was new programming (Dynasty and Hotel; HeartBeat premiered at midseason). Fall-winter 1988: Two hours, none of which was new programming (Dynasty and HeartBeat). This led to Variety's infamous shady headline in spring 1989: "Aaron's Dynasty Over"
    • I hope for a multi-year renewal, too! This is the only show I've been excited to see the next episode in forever. Considering their demos are quite decent. the initial episodes showed there is still an interest in daytime, and it has helped to boost the rest of the soap line up at times, it should be around for a while.

    • I agree.  How many times did we have to watch Bobby vs. J.R., or Blake vs. Alexis, knowing that nothing would change at the end, and that everything would go back to status quo, so that they could fight the same, exhausting battles all over again?  If nothing else, I give FC and KL credit for trying to keep things fresh, even if I think FC, in particular, went too far in the other direction and became unrecognizable even to the most diehard fans. Exactly.  Plus, because viewers were so burned out by the kind of serialized storytelling that was beginning to affect even half-hour comedies, I think MSW represented a nice change of pace.  You didn't have to watch every week, or watch from the beginning of each season, to know what was going on with Miss Fletcher.  Instead, you could watch a complete story in one episode, de-stress from whatever had happened in your own life last week, gear yourself up for the week ahead, and be okay. If you notice, though, there were differences between those two shows and what Aaron Spelling had produced in the past.  For one thing, there was a greater emphasis on youth; and while characters on 90210 and MP certainly had more disposable incomes than the average viewer, their wealth wasn't as opulent as what we'd seen on DYNASTY or on "Hart to Hart."  Even the battles among Alison, Amanda, Billy and others at that advertising agency weren't as histrionic as those between Denver Carrington and ColbyCo.
    • I saw a conversation yesterday with Liam with the 7 dwarves hat and Steffy -  I know she did not say re: Hope and Liam said - well look at Finn and you forgave him right?      I know I did not hear Steffy say “well but you can’t compare that to…”  For *uck sake someone call the bitch out!?     You’re right, we shouldn’t compare your forgiveness for the dude with devil spawn seed whose daughter locked you in a cage along with crazy stepmom/mom/Grandmother who has also SHOT YOU BOTH - and multiple murder attempts but you have to exist with them / Hope’s part in a takeover which you know was FAR LESS THAN CARTER BECAUSE HOPE IS NOT AN ATTORNEY…. Goodness no, no the same thing at alllllllll.   When they do Steffy’s absence at least let it be because they all find out what a manipulative ho she is in her own right.
