If it's Nov 8th then it'd a Nathan/Olivia/Dru/Neil day with Neil and Dru arguing about her modelling instead of pursuing ballet. Then Dru has Christine teach her how to model. Also a Sheila/Lauren confrontation day. Nov 11th is when Lauren's baby was dying and you had some Katherine/Dina scenes. Will be interesting to see which of these episodes actually airs.

I don't remember Amy Lewis ever being a "random teen girl".  Seems like Amy was always Traci's best friend from the time that Amy appeared, a dance and aerobics instructor (Stephanie was a dancer in real life), and the daughter of Commander Frank Lewis of the police force.   She was a contract character from the get-go.   Lauren didn't like Amy, because Amy knew Lauren was a heifer.  Later on, Amy went to work for Paul and Andy, but at first she was a college girl teaching aerobics and helping Traci deal with the snotty Lauren.

I loved this 2006 episode. As has been said, makes me hate that they allowed VR to leave. I just love the Winters family in these scenes, feels genuine and real. Sharon Case looks absolutely fantastic here. Wow. I know Amber was pretty hit or miss but I enjoyed seeing her arrival and introduction to Kay. I forgot how beautiful Adrienne Frantz is. This was my first time seeing Colleen and JT together, they seem to have chemistry despite her concern for the professor.

Outside of that WOW did the show move fast. I swear they went from set to set to set and back to the same set. I did however love the small touches like Lauren and Michael taking turns with the baby and their careers.

VR keeps saying Bill Bell worked with her on the foster child story with Devon - what is the background on this? I thought Bell was phasing himself out of HWing around '98 or so, and he died around the same time of the story.

Oh yeah, Stephanie Williams definitely "interacted" with Amy.  She was the beautiful young actress who portrayed Amy Lewis.  lol.

Dr. Neil Curtis, I've never read or heard much about what led to Stephanie Williams leaving the show.  At the time it was happening, I thought it was a pretty bad mistake to let her go.   My guess is that Bill Bell temporarily ran out of storyline ideas for her and released her from her contract.   She had a haphazard "going-away" storyline of some sort --- such as Amy's dad had a heart attack in San Diego (or something), and she had to go spend time with him.  (I'm a little bit vague on it at the moment.)  Then as someone said above, Amy began reappearing several months later in a recurring capacity (no contract).  Seems like Nathan Hastings found her working out in the gym and said, "Gosh, Amy, I didn't realize you were back in town," and she said, "Yes, I just got back", or something.   It seemed that Bell was about to start working Amy back into the storyline.  Then suddenly General Hospital gave Stephanie Williams a long-term contract to play the role of Simone Hardy, so any recurring work planned for her on Y&R quickly went out the window.  Soon after, Drucilla was introduced.

    • I'm not sure if the boy Carrie 2 seduced (I think his name was Ron) was still in high school or in college, but I remember he was very shy. I don't recall her making a pass at Alan, but she did make one at Justin, and she ended up banging Josh. I think there was an out of town business man too. Reva thought Josh and Vanessa were having an affair. Vanessa had just been fired by Roger, and when Reva took off to India, Van started helping Josh with the children. He then hired Van to work at Lewis. She would hear him on a business call with Van and think they were arranging a tryst. Or they sat too close together on the couch, so of course they were hiding an affair from her. It was very weird and blew up really quick.  It culminated at the party Reva was throwing at the club to introduce Dylan to Justin. Reva imagined everyone whispering about her and then she dumped a tray of drinks on Vanessa. When Vanessa hauled her into the ladies room to ask WTF, Reva accuses them of having an affair, asks if Van's pregnant, and then knocks her to the floor. I do think Claire had a tumor. I know around Valentine's day, Claire is making passes at a young businessman (or maybe even someone college age), and Ross (Van kinda pushed her at him because she's not keen on Calla). There's also a young intern played by Burke Moses that I think she sleeps with.

If the standard of play in the women's final yesterday wasn't of the highest caliber, that is not something you could say about today's final. It was absolutely fantastic tennis.
    • When Barbara's letter was read (partly in Barbara's voice), there was commenting upthread that Barbara's voice is similar to the voice of Naomi's unhoused client June.  It did sound like her.  June is played by Jasmine Burke.  Per closing credits, Barbara was voiced by Sherita Bolden.  Still possible that they are connected. From our discussion on the May thread:  Looks and/or voices similar between June, Haley, and Tracy.   Tracy looks like Debbi Morgan. LOL so June might be connected to Haley, Tracy, or Barbara; and/or Samantha&Tyrell. I love that we don't know!
    • In the 1987 episodes, Mary has wonderful conversations with MJ and Cheryl. This is a realistic family with believable dynamics. Mary's ambivalence towards Vince is played nicely. Denise Alexander is so good here. I don't know what happened that the writers or producers just decided to chuck it all away. I don't FF these scenes. The show had a strong family that could have had years of storyline and they did nothing with them. I really don't get it.
    • I can't speak for Sonni, but I thought Annie came off as neurotic from very early on. That's just how Cynthia Watros plays her parts, and the writing went along. I don't think Claire was mentally ill - they claimed she had a brain tumor, didn't they? I am never sure just why they made the effort given that she was leaving anyway.
    • @DeeVee Claire is a perfect example. So many women came to Springfield as competent, smart, and talented professionals. Then they’d attract a so-called “good guy,” get dumped, and spiral into complete chaos. What always strikes me is how clearly it plays like a male fantasy—yet it was written and sold to a female audience.  I'm not a content expert, but I don't think cis gendered women fantasize about losing control of their mental faculties in response to an orgasm. Similar to Holly's story, it seems repulsive, because I don't believe women fantasize about becoming more vulnerable and appealing to men after they've been assaulted.
    • I just watched some parts of an episode of GL where Roger has just been shot by Holly. Rita then admits to Hillary that Roger raped her. Kasdorf is such a fantastic actress. I wish there were more of her work available.
    • -- Alex Alegria has almost a full sleeve tattoo on one arm and a large tatt on one pec. I see no indication that the show is covering up his ink,
    • Didn't Carrie2 even seduce a minor? Ick. Oh, yeah, and she even tried to seduce Alan, but this was his post-prison era when he was trying to prove to everyone he had changed. It's funny that of all people he didn't go for it. Wait. Josh had an affair with Vanessa? Or she just thought he did? I know people always say "it's just a soap" but the way mental illness is portrayed on soaps (and that goes for pretty much all of them) has always been not great, especially PPD. They practically turned Claire into The Joker. She also was trying to seduce men. (I notice that now Mary Ryan Munisteri is listed as co HW with Ryder in the 1986 episodes, Claire has calmed down a lot. Never thought her GL career was very good but seems like she tried to course correct that a bit).
