I thought he had a great debut. He does sound a lot like Jason, and looks so much like Kristian, especially the eyes and cheeks. DAYS did another great job with its casting. I think it helps that he has soap and movie experience, he knows what to expect. He's handsome, but no so handsome that he doesn't look unapproachable. I also think when he really starts going toe-to-toe with Kyle's Philip, it will look much more believable.

Here is my opinion on Jason Cook....

He was what you call a "hit or miss" actor. I can barely remember any of his scenes that were Emmy worthy, but he's had some very good ones. Jason was good when he was around other good actors, then at times it made him look even worse. I liked him. I didn't hate Jason Cook, but Brandon is obviously going to be very, very good.

And to whoever it was who said something about Jason not being able to "emote", those special brownies are what mellowed him out. Farah too. That and the special nose candy, lol. I'm just kidding.....

I can't believe I've actually seen the day that Shawn Douglas Brady became a real man... who can act too!

Count me in on the Brandon Beemer love, those blue eyes would get me everytime. Jason Cook who? I will say JC had great chemistry with KA and PR, but other than that he wasnt a good actor. Now we have Martha Madison, Jason Cook, and Farah is out the door! I have total faith in DAYS casting department right now and believe they will find another talent for the recast of Phillip in the near future.

Beemer was better in his first day than Cook was in his entire 8 year stint on the show.

Beemer will only get better and better as the weeks and months roll on by!

To be redundant , I really am thrilled with Brandon as Shawn. He is a dream come true. His face resembles Kristian/Hope's and he has that gorgeous Bo body, all muscular and masculine. He does have a very similar sounding voice as Jason, which is good actually. I think we are in for a wonderful treat with a Brandon/Shawn and a Martha/Belle.

I think it has been one of the easiest transitions for a new actor in a long time. Maybe not since Robert Kelker-Kelly as Bo back in the day. Cheers to the casting department. Brandon is on the money.

I think people forget the crap storylines the guy had to play through..not to mention this past year he was basically saying the same lines everyday..there's only so much emotion you can put into the same lines over and over...

But anyway I saw Beemer for the first time Friday and he loooked really nice alongside Madison. They seem closer in age than Cook and Madison were, and his voice is similar to JC's like everyone mentioned.

How could anyone forget about teh crappy s/l? That would be really hard to accomplish. What we didn't forget is that Jason never were a great actor in all those years he was on. He didn't develop at all. His last day could just as easily been his first. imo
