ARTICLE: Nominations Announced for ‘The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards’
Side Note: It continues to baffle me how/why B&B's Katherine Kelly Lang gets overlooked year after year, decade after decade. 35 years kicking ass as Brooke and she's only been nominated like twice and I don't think it was even in as a lead.

ARTICLE: Nominations Announced for ‘The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards’
For what it's worth, having DAYS in there twice actually knocked B&B out of the running for Best Writing and Directing. Speaking of barfing, my only shock was seeing Stacy Haiduk nominated. I'm sorry, but she's awful. There, I said it.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'm excited for it! It looks a tad restrictive, only showing them at Blue Stone Manor the entire time, but I'm digging what I'm seeing.

Jerry VerDorn has passed away
Agreed. He was the embodiment of Guiding Light. A great actor and a great man. What a loss. RIP.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Those are cute taglines. I like almost all of them. But yeah, they should've redone everyone, instead of doing a hodge-podge of old and new. Why are they skimping? Bravo's biggie $ like Bethenny and Nene are long gone; they have money.

The ATL ladies look great. I'm surprised by the lack of promotion for it. ATL and BH always seemed like Bravo's bread and butter for the last 10+ years in Housewivesland. I'm still thinking they need a peacemaker / neutral Switzerland / "normal one" in the form of Cynthia Bailey, but I'm open to seeing how this crop of women will interact.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Even before the drama with Teresa's current beau, I would venture to say Teresa's dorters and Joe/Melissa's kids don't see each other very often unless the cameras are rolling...

B&B April 2022 Discussion Thread
I'm down with that. LOL Randomly picking up Carter/Quinn and Carter/Paris/Zende after weeks on the backburner is so.... Days of Our Lives (Ron Carlivati's version). But they definitely need to beef up their "B" stories so I give them credit for that. The Carter/Quinn tale is where they need to go. They've thrown their plate of spaghetti known as Paris at so many walls hoping something will stick, and it's just not. Carter, Zende, Finn, Thomas. Next, they'll bring back Maya and give them a chem test. Side note: So Bridget has been in L.A. this whole time, they just don't show her? And now she pops up in the hospital as a glorified dayplayer. Wow.

SOD
Other than Eric Braeden a few times in the last two decades, I remember one from early 2001 of Alison Sweeney... "Sami gets everything she wants!" EDIT: Oh wait, there was a couple solo Deidre Hall covers in 2004 for the serial killer story.

Pick a Year and Name it's Best/Worst Soaps(s)
Agreed 100% Especially when looking back, yes, you had great payoff in the comeuppances of Kristen and Sami, but even in the first half of '97, you can see they were dragging the Marlena/John/Kristen and Sami/Austin/Carrie stories during the winter and spring to have the big summer climaxes. Bo/Hope/Billie/JL King wasn't intriguing enough, and Jack/Jennifer was non-existent with Jack spending the first half of the year in prison. The second half was when DAYS started their hokey-jokey junk with the circus story and Vivian & Ivan dressed up as french fries and Lil' Bo Peep and the naroleptic Jonesey and his townhouse. Plus, Susan Banks. After the Kristen payoff in June of '97, Susan's presence was always comedy cringe.

Pick a Year and Name it's Best/Worst Soaps(s)
GL was must-see-TV in 2002. Their last great era. Agreed @MichaelGL DAYS & GL ("my" two shows) were tied for #1 in 2002 as the best.

Agree 100%. Aremid and all the rest was mid-90's DAYS at its finest

ARTICLE: Peacock Orders Second Chapter of ‘Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem,’ Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell to Reprise Roles
Well now isn't this some lovely news! They should film on location in New Zealand where Reckell lives now, but I'll settle for some shaky iPhone camera footage I secretly hope this will be the catalyst that draws Kristian back to the parent show. Hope is needed, even if she's a demon-possessed Princess Gina stuck over a vat of acid with an avalanche about to bury her, or whatever nonsense RC decides to reboot.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
They'd do the same thing they did after Lisa Vanderpump left RHOBH: Focus on a new target. That said, I do think the show would falter without Teresa, love her or hate her. It's not just her; it's her famb-il-y. While the early years of RHONJ had the Manzos as the main family, the Guidices took over and we've seen them all grow up and have lil personalities of their own.

Days of Our Lives: April 2022 Discussion Thread
There's no psychological development with any of these characters. Shawn had sex with another woman. Who cares if it was the devil's work. That type of [!@#$%^&*] could play out for MONTHS. Certainly in the real world.

Days of Our Lives: April 2022 Discussion Thread
I'm about a week behind, but has Belle questioned yet her own recollections of timeline? Like, when Marlena was possessed but wasn't fully taken over, there were chunks of time she couldn't recollect. But Belle just takes these instances at face value? She CAN recall her whereabouts in the courthouse during the time she was supposedly morphing into EJ to kiss Abigail, right? Same with all the other instances. She hasn't questioned the fact that she CAN recount where she's been and what she's been doing? So dumb.

It's the voice... That shrill sound. We didn't hear all that screechy stuff during her Caroline Forrester 2.0 years on B&B.

So did I skip over some key dialogue in recent weeks or has everyone in the family (Ridge, Taylor, Thomas, Steffy) totally forgotten that Phoebe ever existed? EDIT: and I oop—- Taylor inferred to her today.
