  1. Looking back, I wish I had started watching DAYS in 1993 instead of two years later. So much I missed out on in real time. It was the possession storyline that got me to tune in, but it was Bo & Hope (the newly returned Peter Reckell!) that made me fall in love with the show. I think in 1996 the show was firing on all cylinders still. But looking at the first half of 1997, you can see Reilly was stretching out Carrie/Austin/Sami and Marlena/John/Kristen to fill space in the winter and spring to have the big summer climaxes. As for Bo/Hope/Billie/Franco, they felt kinda half-assed, and the Jack/Jennifer storyline was literally suspended while Jack (Mark Valley) wallowed in prison. Also, though the possession storyline got people talking and watching, it wasn't until the Aremid storyline arc (my personal all-time favorite) that propelled DAYS to No. 2 in the ratings and they *stayed* at No. 2 until December of 1997. Speaking of the Fall of 1997, I would wager Reilly purposely sabotaged the show on his way out the door after he got to do his big Summer reveals (Kristen, then Sami).
  2. I watched all through the bitter end of last season, but they certainly did not give much incentive to watching. Seeing last night's OC premiere gives me hopes they can turn NYC around with the right casting decisions and renewed focus. They need more than just a Dorinda return; they need an OG heavy hitter like Jill and/or Bethenny.
  3. I'm usually pretty lukewarm about OC in general, but last night's premiere was GREAT! I am legit excited to see the next episode. Heather is a welcome breath of fresh air, and the real estate porn is orgasmic, lol. I've grown to like the Gina/Emily friendship; a solid bond between at least 2 women is essential for this show right now, since they're in their rebuilding phase. As for the newbies, I'm liking what I see so far of Noella. As for Jennifer, I wasn't quite sure she was the new castmember at first. I thought she would be the friend-of by the way she was introduced, so to have that other woman at the center of the Heather drama be the friend-of kind of threw me, especially since she was the one who introduced Noella to Heather. Anyhoo, I do agree there is still a "Classic RHOC" element missing (Tamra!) but overall this was a welcome surprise! Good thing I already had OC set as a series recording, because I totally forgot it was coming back, too.
  4. In case you were wondering about the guy who appeared on Y&R today. Ernest Pierce.
  5. At first glance, I thought Shannon was Vivian Vance.
  6. Yeah, it's still enjoyable, but nothing stand-out. Wendy has a loooooong way to go to live up to Monique's binder. Speaking of exhausting, I'm kinda over Mary's kooky ass on SLC. She admits to being a Debbie Downer on the girls trip, and she was every bit the buzzkill. I dunno, she just gets triggered over the weirdest little things, and her tics and mannerisms are like Ramona Singer on speed. Speaking of speed, with all these real-life bombshells on SLC, it's like watching a modern day primetime soap (think: Revenge) where SO much is happening so soon that I fear they'll burn themselves out too early. Of course, I'm still enjoying the hell outta SLC, but I hope they don't run out of steam too early and have to rely on Bravo storylines (i.e. pantygate, puppygate, cookie lady, etc.) in future seasons.
  7. That's been my thought too: DH is playing MarDevil like she's Hattie.
  8. I love how they give Eileen Davidson the A-list storyline with the possession story and stick Stacy Haiduk with the C-list crap (unless they've written off Kristen again... hopefully)
  9. Sadly, I have to agree. I’ve never been a huge fan of these spin-offs unless it’s a 3 episode special like Tamra’s or NeNe’s wedding because they can pack a bunch of stuff in a short time. But longer arcs like this stretch the “character” too thin. These types of shows will always work best as an ensemble. Hell, they spend so little time on the women’s individual lives anymore that even a 5-person cast isn’t enough.
  10. Turning Nicole into an unhappy drunk while married to Lucas was the best thing to happen to the character. From there, Ari Zucker was able to bring fun and lightness to the role. B&B: I was always surprised at how long Amber Moore lasted. I think she was initially brought on as a waitress friend for Sheila to talk to when she was living in rural California. To keep her around and have her be Rick Forrester's babysitter (ha!) was an unexpected twist for me, as I thought for sure she'd fade away into oblivion as so many B&B characters tend to do.
  11. The dynamic between the 4 franchises put together is definitely a treat to watch! I will go ahead and say it would've been nice for another woman from Beverly Hills to be there (lousy Rinna and her demands for more money). I echo everyone's sentiments for the most part and will add... - It's funny how the NYC women are the ones to let it all hang out (literally!) and get nekkid without a care in the world. - I did like the part of Cynthia's game where everyone admitted to their one insecurity (but I don't buy Ramona's body image issues. But, as peacemaker Cynthia said, if that's what she says she feels, we'll go with it). - Not to body shame anyone, but I will say that on this trip, with the outfits and camera angles, well... they definitely highlight the fact that almost everyone is over 50 [Kudos to LuAnn, though, who defies age. And of course, the young'un Melissa, where youth is still on her side]. - New friendship highlights so far (I've seen the first two episodes): LuAnn & Cynthia, and Kenya/Melissa's mutual girl crushes. - Yeah. Teresa hates her sister-in-law. Some things will never change. And on WWHL, she holds firm that Melissa was shady in how she was cast on RHONJ in the first place. Teresa will never let go on that one and I completely believe her. - Another fun WWHL highlight last night as they all played the game of "Who's an OG?," was a mutual YES to Jill Zarin and LVP (even Kyle had to cop to it), and a mutual NO to OC's Shannon. The game showcased not just original castmembers, but also longtime castmembers who have made notable marks on their respective shows.
  12. She's coming in with a great attitude. I'm interested in seeing how it'll all play out. Even if they use her 4-5 times a week and then burn out of ideas after three months, in typical B&B fashion...
  13. Oh yes definitely, the Potomac reunion is bringing it. The reunion definitely showcases that the OG's (and yes, I'll even include Robyn) know how to play the game and keep this little world turnin'. Karen and Gizelle throw shade and digs at one another, but a visceral hatred between them simply does not exist. Yes, it got a little too dark earlier this season, certainly moreso than in previous seasons, but their exchanges on last night's episode shows they know when to pull back and lighten up. And hey, they can still have fun together. They could very well have a "make-up-and-be-BFF's" season next year, to the shock and annoyance of the rest of the cast. I say go for it. Ashley continues to sweep the floor with Candy's messy ass without breaking a sweat. The only sweat she's breaking is getting that post-baby hot mama body back in top form. Well done, Ashley. I know it's a mixed back here on this board regarding Ashley, but she's always been a favorite of mine. Her and The Grande Dame's friendship/understanding is always a highlight for me. Candaice. Girl, when even the frick 'n frack team of Gizelle and Robyn are calling you out and refusing to co-sign anything you're spewing out, you in danger gurl. She just doesn't get it and I'm not here to watch any additional "journey" she needs to go through to see the light. Askale. Yeah, you could've stayed home. Wendy doesn't sit right with me. Yes, she makes good points in some respects, but makes no sense in others. She really has no sense of herself, and again, not sure I wanna sit around and watch her "journey" either. Next season is already S7, and dare I say I'm ready for an OG to return, and by OG I mean Monique (just like I consider Kandi an OG of ATL). As I said at the onset of this season, the 4 vets know how to play the game, but the newer women are having trouble navigating and look a mess.
  14. LOL… A for effort, but the morphing effect of 1995 was way better. Someone PLEASE alter the voice adapter. The devil sounds like RuPaul.
  15. God bless her... LOL
  16. LOL! We need to make a list here of the thirstiest ex-housewives desperate to get back on their respective shows. We have Teddi and Brandi from RHOBH for starters...
  17. Carter sure falls in love quickly. I mean, that's how ALL new romances begin on B&B, but this is the 3rd woman he's getting all lovey-dovey over in one year.
  18. Can't believe I'm gonna defend the cloning storyline, but GL's ratings stayed up during the clone saga (even beating AMC and ATWT for weeks in the summer of '98) and they fell out literally the week AFTER the clone died and Zimmer/Newman were off the canvas for 3 weeks.
  19. I swear, Salem is lit by a huge full moon at night. Every night. Even indoors. It's weird. Carmine is the lovechild of a Baldwin brother and a Culkin kid.
  20. Agreed 100% Rest the bitch for a good year. At least.
  21. Agreed! So much was left on the cutting room floor last year. One hour alone on Monique's binder would've been fabulous. This season was good, but not epic like last year. However, so far when it comes to RHOBH, the ratings and stayed high and steady. Has Part 3's numbers been released yet? I could see last night's numbers dropping.
  22. Wow, really? Didn't know there was friction in the family I could never see La Lucci joining a reality TV show like this. Re: Housewives fatigue. Yes, the RHOBH reunion has been ho-hum. So much out of Erika's mouth is B.S. and her stooges eat up every drop. They easily could've made it a 3-parter and tighten up the fluff pieces.
  23. Gasp! Are you insinuating Peter Reckell wasn't very good looking? :::clutches pearls::: I know plenty o' women and gay men who will beg to differ
  24. Same people who burglarized Kyle? Wonder if they'll hit up Erika next... A new clever way to hide assets. Sorry to sound unsympathetic, but why do I always think there's more to the story with this woman?
  25. I can recall a couple times when MarDevil of 1995 teleported. Once when Celeste was in a panic driving her car and suddenly MarDevil popped up in the passenger seat next to her. The other time was when Caroline was in Marlena's bedroom and went downstairs (also in a panic, at one point it looked like she was contemplating jumping over the stair balcony; a funny acting choice of Peggy McCay) towards the front door and suddenly there's MarDevil!
