Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Hey y'all I'm back, did you miss me? (LOL, doing my best Carolyn Hinsey from Soap Opera Digest impression). Ooh Lordy, been swamped at work, then went on vacation, then came back to more work. No time to catch up on my favorite thread I'm loving the discussions here so I'll just add my +1's to certain points in particular.... NJ Reunion: I do think Jennifer had some great and funny moments. However, at times she goes for the jugular and is just nasty to be nasty. She's trying to be this 4th wall breaker, showing us viewers what "really" happens (i.e. Melissa's fake storylines; Marge being the source of the Evan secret, which fell flat.). That said, she has given us more than I ever expected from her, as she was so unlikable in her first year. And I love her family dynamic. So overall, she gets top reviews. I really didn't mind the Marge/Melissa/Jackie alliance. I didn't find them to be "evil" or nefarious or anything, but rather friends sticking up for one another, as so many housewives do during contentious arguments (see: Beverly Hills cast the last two seasons; see: NYC Season 4 reunion) Beverly Hills: Oh yes, we hate to love this show, but it's bringing it this year. And Garcelle is BOSS. I've loved these first few episodes, with Garcelle as the Greek Chorus. She is so effortless and I am loving her presence. Added bonus: Kyle and Rinna, two wannabee queens are terrified of her. They're probably secretly afraid Black Twitter will come for their asses if they say anything out of line. I love seeing Garcelle take Rinna to task for being a sh-t friend and a sh-t person in general. I love production's shade towards Erotika. This pretty mess of a scandal will be delicious to watch unfold. @Cat You got that right about Dorit - is she the new Terri DeMarco? A non-motherf*cking factor? (Side note: a big NO to Evelyn Lozada joining!) Perhaps she'll cause a stir when she questions Erika's involvement in the Tom fiasco. @DaytimeFan I'm with you on newbie Crystal. We barely know her yet and she's coming too hard too fast on Sutton. I guess she took notes and thought she has to jump right into the mix in order to make a splash, but it comes off as Mean Girlish. Hoping to get in good with the Coven? Sutton is the resident basket case this season I guess. She was giving me Shannon Beador vibes on this past week's episode. Pull it together girl, and I hope your buddy Garcelle gives you a lesson on your white privilege. Kathy freaking Hilton! I am living for her! OMG, by far the BEST of the Richards sisters! Once again, Kyle is overshadowed, LOL. Kathy is so quirky and funny and gives no effs and I enjoy every minute of her. LOL at her looking directly at the camera and saying she can't see anything. New York: I am *not* looking forward to seeing the return of Season Four LuAnn. I haven't watched this week's episode yet. We've seen her grow and evolve over the years, so regressing to her classist ways is not something I want to see. Re: Leah. Yes, these episodes have shown just how desperate she is to have her moments and be the star, and she looks like a total jackass. LOL at her Vow of Silence being cut short because no one gave a fig (in fact, they were probably grateful she was quiet). I love seeing the return of Heather and she took Leah/Luann's interogation in stride and was so matter-of-fact, owning what she said and explaining why she said it. 'Tis a pity she decided to bow out of the show (thanks, "woke" Leah). Sonja's drunken outbursts are half funny and half sad. She needs help financially and mentally. She is so stuck in the past, it's slowly killing her inside. I still enjoy her and think she's probably the most genuine of the NYC OG's (okay, she came in S3), but she has serious issues that's harming no one but herself. Potomac: Yaaaaaaaaass! So glad Bravo is cranking this show out so early! RHOC who? Team Grande Dame/Ashley. I love seeing two former enemies become so tight now. I was howling at them as they both watched an episode of RHOA some months back to do commentary. Karen & Ashley bounce off each other very well. Meanwhile, I'm happy to see anyone come for Gizelle, even crusty ol' Dr. Wendy. And I see Candyass has learned nothing from her altercation with Monique. Who's the real Hood Rat? That's all for now!

The show looked absolutely awful in 2016. That, coinciding with their dark turn in storyline-telling (think Hope kiliing Stefano, Ciara being raped, and all those weird stand-alone episodes focusing on one character like Rafe or Aiden), marked a wretched era for the show.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Agreed that it would've been nice to have the Heather/Luann/Sonja lunch shown in real-time versus a quick flashback. I hope they don't minimize Heather's appearance. I never thought I'd be a stan for her, but she's a refreshing return of Housewives past, and I would/would've really liked to see her interact with this group without the presence of Bethenny to stifle/talk over her. And a big rolling my eyes at Leah "worried" about Heather's comments about L/S/R in the press. Girl, they already know! And they're still friends. Stop looking for tits on an ant, Witchy-poo. LOL at Ramona being Ramona all night long at the burning man event. I love when she tries to be deep but no one else buys it. EDIT: New Jersey reunion promo - looks good! I'm pleasantly surprised it's only a 2-parter. They had a great season, but I suppose there's only so much to drag out when there was a lot of fun and levity (especially from the Househusbands) throughout.

I mean damn. I have nothing to add. Messy and pregnant to boot?! Child.... I didn’t know there was a Latoya backstory with Sheree. That works. One thing we could count on from Sheree was to be messy, fun, and shady but never mean or ugly and vindictive.

For reals. It took me a looooooong time to warm up to her, but she was my favorite these last 3 years. But damn gurl... Side Note: I see a lot of y'all are clamoring for Sheree to return. Just out of curiosity, what do you think she brings/would bring to the show? I mean, I like her, but she's been a supporting player since season 3.

Days Renewed for 2 years!
Aw, congrats to DAYS, and a 2-year deal at that! Now lets start crafting some long-range storylines that are both fun to watch as the journey unfolds as well as satisfactory with the payoff at the end. Dare to dream.

100% agreed.

Well, well, well. Kyle has finally crowned herself the official queen. Ooh yes Garcelle, show that leg hunny! Erika, I'ma need you to speed up that tagline. Geesh.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Yeah, she gave me nothing too. Side Note: Why was Shamea at the reunion? I have no problem with her, but her presence at the reunion wasn't needed at all. Overall, a ho-hum season with too much behind-the-scenes production chaos making for a lackluster year.

Ooh Potomac, come back soon! NYC: I echo the sentiments that it felt off having only 5 castmembers, and there's a bit of oddness with the 3 OG's teaming up with the younger newbies. In real life, you wouldn't see Leah/Eboni hanginig with the OG's... well, maybe Eboni, but Leah sticks out. I really like Eboni. She's smart, honest, funny, and has a great handle on things already. Of course, next week's vacation already looks like a shItshow that NYC is so famous for, but at first glance she makes an awesome new addition. Rolling my eyes at Leah calling Heather a Karen. Ugh. You hit the nail on the head. To tie it to a soap, it's like when Guiding Light introduced the island nation of San Cristobel as "escapism" from Springfield, not realizing that Springfield *IS* the viewer's escape.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
She really wasn't that popular, but Bravo is dead set on creating a narrative that she was. Did she create a bigger spark than people like Jules or Kristen Taekman? Definitely, but when you have Bravo doing a "best of Leah moments" show, you know they've got an agenda.

Well, I look forward to Leah's second season curse because I'm already annoyed by her just by the promos. Agreed. I felt bad for her. That was too much and lil Joey needed to shut his trap. 100% And if there's physical assault involved, it's no wonder Leah is trying to cover her ass before it hits the airwaves.

Is My Friend In A Cult? Your Thoughts & Advice...
UPDATE: "Diana" and "Carlo" are no longer together and after spending months on the road, Diana is coming home this weekend. She reached out to my hubby and they had a talk, and we're going to have dinner with her this weekend. Hubby flat out told her we thought she was in a cult, and she agreed it was a cult-like atmosphere. Sounds like she's going to make the rounds and reach out to people she's fallen out of touch with, and is apologetic and embarrassed over the whole ordeal. Of course, I'll have questions, but at the same time, I'm not going to bombard her with too much. I'm happy to give her a safe space to come to us and vent and reconnect. But yeah, lots of info to unpack from the last couple days and more to come this weekend...

Days: April 2021 Discussion Thread
With the inevitable cast purging that happens annually after a DAYS renewal (IF it gets renewed), I hope they don't turn to the usual suspects this time around (Belle, Shawn, Philip, Chloe, Lucas). I'm perplexed why they brought back Rafe in the first place. Ditto Ava. And hell, Nicole can be rested. That whole trio can go. Meanwhile, I do NOT get the appeal of Jake and his only redeeming quality in my eyes is giving Kate a storyline. And if you're insistent on saddling Brady with Kristen, then rest both characters for at least a year, and then bring Brady back without his crazy babymama.

Wow, that is ridiculous if they are bending over backwards to protect Drew and create this positive narrative to the audience. Who do they think she is? Bethenny Frankel? She made some good points, but overall it was too much. I was sensing the Joyce feeling (BH Season 4) that people just wanted to shove her off her chair and not have to put up with her chirping the rest of the night. From what you're saying of what's going on behind the scenes, sounds like Kandi is almost ready to bounce...

Dear God! I pity the fool who greenlights this... Literally NO ONE is asking for this. Who's next? OC's Meghan King Edmonds? They look mostly good! I like the color scheme of the set.- Neilson VS Streaming.
The 2013 AMC/OLTL Hulu reboots were a wee bit ahead of its time. Yes, you had popular shows solely available through streaming, but even 8 years ago, widespread streaming wasn't as commonplace as it is now. These days, if I forget about viewing a primetime network show (think dramas like This Is Us or A Million Little Things), it's available on Hulu the very next day. Millions of people have become conditioned to streaming versus recording (or watching live, which is practically unheard of nowadays, haha). It'd be awesome if they tried to reboot a soap again with a stronger production company backing it up. Chances are, Days of Our Lives will become a Peacock or Hulu exclusive show in the next 5 years.- Days may sweeps

So they revealed the killer today? Man, DAYS has the worst luck when it comes to pre-emptions these days... Gladys and Maybelle better figure out how to work their grandkids' computers!- Days: April 2021 Discussion Thread
True dat. All four soap operas still have the potential to be something great, but it's just not gonna happen, either because the TPTB don't know how to do it in this day and age, or because they just don't want to try. Still, I'd like to see DAYS hit 60 and just hope for a fantastic 60th anniversary year with many returns and walks down memory lane (Flashbacks! With no goofy sepia lighting or sparkles or laser beams or any type of goofy graphics that muck up how it originally aired)- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Ooh love the taglines! The vets look amazing in their new shots! Yes, it feels short to only have 5 castmembers, especially since RHONY was the one U.S. Housewives series to have a whopping 8 castmembers at one point, giving us an opening nearly as long as Melrose Place's. RHOA: I gave Drew leeway all season long, but boy did she show her ass at the finale. God that reeked of desperation. It was like she did a last-minute crash course study on how to stir up [!@#$%^&*] at a Dinner Party From Hell and EVERYTHING fell flat. LOL, I loved how she tried so hard to explain her reasoning and everyone was just checked out. It's like, sis, read the room and stop; you lost. I can see them giving her another season unless they grow somes stones and do a hard reboot of Atlanta next season. Hubby and I were deciphering Drew's legacy. He equated her to a Kim Fields; I said a Claudia Jordan. We'll see if she's a one and done. I'll miss seeing Ralph though... - Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
