Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
LOL love it. My grade school growing up was called Bethany, so it's always a trip to see a different spelling.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I'm the opposite. I describe LaToya as pathetic and desperate. Her antics in Fallon's (I'm sticking with the spelling of the name from Dynasty) driveway were pathetic. I'm just not a fan. If you're gonna turn up for the camera, at least TRY to make it appear organic, and not some wannabe try-hard thirsting for a peach. Fallon's party was SO bad. LOL. COVID-19 parties suck. After spending THREE days putting up her haunted walkway, after 10 seconds of it, you find yourself in an empty kitchen with barely any drinks or snacks? I'm sure Kandi was pissed there was nothing good to munch on (not a sex innuendo here, I mean actual food, heehee). However, Fallon's costume and makeup were amazing. All that for a one-hour party and a crazy mental blowup at the end. Did some producer whisper in her ear to go batshit crazy? The whole night was weird. JMO

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Ooh girl, I thought the same exact thing, comparing Jackie to Aviva. Other than flashbacks, Jackie wasn't even featured last night. She's milking this feud for all it's worth. I feel it's all coaxed to give Teresa an adversary. But whatevs, NJ is enjoyable over all. Jennifer reminds me of one of my best friends when she's... overserved. I laughed watching her hubby and the husbands carry her to safety. Hope she didn't upchuck in the car on the ride home! Margaret's face continues to perplex me.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
+1. Latoya doesn't work for me. She's too much of a tryhard and it's always written on her face. Since there will ultimately be a comparison made, I'm not a super fan of Drew but she's a better fit as a housewife for sure. Latoya reminds me of Kim G of S2 New Jersey. Playing both sides and ending up burning both ends. One & done.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Thank you! I was wondering the same thing. Jackie's analogy cut to the core because Teresa's unfounded rumors cut to Jackie's core. Teresa is too uneducated and dumb to understand an analogy. Instead she flies off the handle and complains "she's tawwkin' about my daugherter!" It is NOT Jackie's fault that Teresa is dumber than a box of rocks. This is just like when Eileen Davidson made a stink about Vanderpump asking how she and her hubby got together (ED had an affair, right? I can't remember). Eileen made a big stink of it and and it aired over multiple episodes, when she easily could've let the comment fly away in the breeze and there'd be no additional footage for the show to milk. New Jersey is good to watch now, but this group also highlights how they're all just castmembers forced to hang out with one another while the cameras are rolling. Yes, Melissa and Tre are sis-in-laws; yes, Dolores is friends with Teresa. But beyond that, I don't think Teresa is really friends with Margaret anymore. Jennifer and Jackie are in their own islands. I don't think they've formulated genuine friendships with anyone in the cast. In the first episode, I think it was Melissa who said she hadn't seen Jennifer since they sat on the sofas together at the reunion. @Cat Yes, Marge's face is a bit much. I'm always adjusting my eyes trying to see the original face under there somewhere. I can understand wanting to do away with the oncoming jowls, but everything else that got lifted is a bit dramatic. The boobs are nice, but I feel like if you're gonna have a tight face and tight tits, you better get the rest of your body tight too (i.e. the arms are flapping everywhere, etc.) or else the body work done is all the more noticeable. BH: Dorit looks unrecognizable in those photos. She needs to stop. Her, Rinna, and Erika aspire to look like blowup sex dolls. NYC: I think Dorinda needed a year off. Maybe the show will suffer without her, as this is definitely a rebuilding year, but for her own sake, she needed time to rest and simmer down.

ALL: Proposed Soaps Over The Years
Dang, how quickly that show fell from being the network's ratings darling of the 70's.

Soaps You Could Never Get Into (It's Not You, It's Me)
Gasp! For me, in terms of the long-running shows, it was General Hospital. It just never drew me in, at least never in their mobster era which has been the majority of its last 25+ years. Other notable mentions of my time: Passions and Sunset Beach. They were never anything I could see myself really caring about and watching long-term. Admittedly, I found myself more interested in Port Charles when they started the Tainted Love vampire story arc, as some of their couplings became more intriguing, but again, their momentum (if they had any) would've burned themselves out quickly and I never watched full-time.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
This is the first time I've heard of any Housewives All-Stars! Fun concept, but sadly the roster is not surprising. These are all the Andy Cohen kiss-ups (well, I wouldn't include Cynthia so much, but) that will stay on these shows until they sink. And it's dumb not to include women from some of the less popular/less known series for exposure. Also, no one from OC? Clearly they're still strategizing and figuring out who will be around next season... SLC: The ending was nice. Nothing bombastic (other than Jen's walk-off), but nice. I'm still not ready to give up on Team Heather. Clearly, stuff has gone down since they wrapped filming way back when in pre-COVID March 2020. There's all the animosity towards Lisa and Jen, and hope that Meredith would back her up and co-sign. Maybe I'll be wrong and Heather will get the second season curse, but I'm not ready to write her off.

ALL: Soap Opera Background Music Thread
I would love for DAYS' catalog of music from the mid-90's to be released somewhere, if only on YouTube.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Ah yes of course, one has to consider delayed viewing nowadays. After all, we certainly don't watch anything live anymore except the news (sometimes). Everything is recorded and if it's something we're watching right away, let the first half record and then begin watching so we can speed past commercials.

Is My Friend In A Cult? Your Thoughts & Advice...
Definitely. We came to that decision. If things change and she cuts the cord from him and reaches out to us, I'm open to communication.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Really? What are they normally pulling in nowadays? I see on Showbuzz Daily their total viewership at 1.4 million. That's actually kinda sad. I didn't realize their highest rated Housewives (or second highest, if Beverly Hills is No. 1 now) are a far cry away from even 2 million anymore... If Housewives are modern day Soap Operas, they've hit the late 90's/early 00's era.

Is My Friend In A Cult? Your Thoughts & Advice...
Sorry I missed this earlier No, we haven't corresponded with her for the past couple months, aside from a "like" here 'n there on Instagram. She'll occasionally comment on my stuff. Meanwhile, she's actually on a never-ending vacation around the USA via his RV. They're always posting about doing something somewhere in the southern states: She, him, and his gaggle of friends, almost all of them women. When I see her postings, there's a lack of light in her eyes; seemingly soulless or just sleep deprived. Whatever fun lil' narcotics they're taking are keeping them skinny but are slowly wearing them out. One time, she reached out to our mutual girlfriend to catch up, and at one point, Diana sighed and admitted, "I'm tired..." but it didn't seem like just a casual mention of just being tired, you know? A few months ago around Christmastime, Carlo posted a long, long lengthy post about his "tribe" and how you make your own family and whatnot. I could post it here. I still have yet to read it. Also a couple months back, Carlo reached out to my hubby via social media as kind of a general catchup and was bragging about something random he just bought, but my hubby didn't respond. As my hubby is considered the Queen Bee/Regina George (haha) of the group, no doubt Diana and Carlo were discussing all of us and wanted to put feelers out by reaching out to my hubby since hubby had stopped responding to Diana. We'll see what happens as we get closer to the summertime and they're finally back home...

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I normally don't watch these types of shows with castmembers watching and reacting, but I'm totally watching this one with the Grande Dame & Ashley. Boy, have they come a long way!

Sasha Calle Cast as New Supergirl
Wow, good for her! Has she even been on Y&R lately? They're starting to rotate characters/stories in intervals like DAYS does.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
To this day, I still think Joe and Melissa got off easy. I really wanted the tea to spill when Danielle Staub rejoined the show.... Danielle: "Did you acknowledge your nephew....?" Teresa: "I wanna know who she's been tawwwking to!" That juicy Season 2 reunion revelation that was never thoroughly dissected. Thirsty Joe & Melissa wanting Tre's fame and fortune, promising Bravo dirt, and they never got called out adequately. WOW, I love the 4th wall completely crumbling. It's great they don't put up a façade any longer. I can only wish they'd go back and re-edit and re-release Housewives shows of the early years and let us see the 4th wall footage (i.e. Kelly's Scary Island breakdown on RHONY; all the hush-hush coverups of Kim's drinking and Taylor being abused on RHOBH, etc. etc.)

I. LOVE. THIS. LOL The narrator.... "Maria's life is straight up diarrhea."

Most overly dramatic characters and scenes
I have questions, lol. Can someone translate? One overly dramatic scene I can recall was during DAYS' Serial Killer debacle of 2004 where Julie was dry heaving in grief over the news of Alice's passing. Susan Seaforth-Hayes was really hamming it up during this era, along with all the Julie/Bonnie/Mickey scenes...
