ABC: ‘All My Children’: Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Developing Primetime Version

There have been talks of a new primetime series being developed titled Pine Valley, which is the name of the fictional town All My Children was set in. Lucci’s friends and former AMC colleagues Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are said to be attached as producers to the project. When asked if fans will see “Erica Kane” live on another day, Lucci replies, “I certainly would welcome playing this amazing part of ‘Erica Kane’ again. Wonderful to have the opportunity to work with Kelly and Mark again. You know, it looks like it's going to happen.”

ABC: ‘All My Children’: Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Developing Primetime Version
My friend/acquaintance Jeff Conway writes for Forbes and just completed doing an interview with La Lucci on Wednesday. A bunch of us asked him to ask her about the Pine Valley reboot and if she's been asked to join. I'm certain he asked; we'll know her answer soon

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
OC: Definitely ditch Kelly Dodd. I've never understood her hype from the get-go. Just a crass, sloppy-sounding, ignorant woman. I'm over Shannon. Braunwyn murdered herself and I'm not sorry to see her go. If Tamra returned, alongside Heather (I'm down for that), I could see them keeping Shannon because Shannon and Tamra would no longer be the BFF's; they'd be enemies. Interesting to see Andy Coken (spelling error intended) chime in with the "reboot" remark. Clearly, big changes are in store for OC going forward. Good. SLC: On one hand, yes, it's sad to see the finale already happening next week. But on the other hand like @Cat mentioned, they really can't ride this Jen Monster Mess for anymore episodes. Other than Jen going batshi† crazy, I really liked the dynamic between Meredith/Lisa and Heather/Whitney spending time together. For awhile, I thought those two groupings would steer clear of one another, but Meredith and Lisa behaved like mature adults and accepted Whitney's apology and moved on and strived to have fun and *engage* together. The hypnotist woman was kinda kooky. And too many chachkis in her home. I wanted to shove everything off her crowded coffee table. Side note: I appreciated Meredith's confessional remark about why she disengages from intense confrontations; it triggers her upbringing, being in between two quarreling parents. Makes sense. Those lil nuggets of info help round out why they behave the way they behave. Now as for Jen, there's no excuse for her behavior, unless having cameras surrounding her trigger a cookadoodledoo response. I swear, she has blind rage and doesn't realize the things she says and does. She looked legit confused when Heather rightfully called her out on all the awful things she said and did to everyone single one of them. LOL at everyone boldly raising their hand saying they don't trust Jen. Anyhow, looks like the finale at Heather's opening will be good. Glad they included Mary.

Teresa's tagline is too long, lol... I liked Margaret's the best. Overall, they're not so bad, just very wordy. I'm actually looking forward to their return. Oh, if those walls could talk... I couldn't agree more with your assessment of Rinna. Her thirstiness is written all over these photos. Notable no-shows: Only 2 from NYC? Gosh, I miss Tamra. Can't believe it because OC always flies low on my radar but she is so needed.

To me, the Elizabeth vs. Braunwyn blowup at the reunion came out of nowhere. And Elizabeth getting all butthurt saying Braunwyn is cooing about how great her ex-husband is literally did not happen. I'm not really feeling Elizabeth at the end of the day. A little too thirsty, and not naturally charismatic. They'll probably give her a second season, but I wouldn't miss her if they dropped her. I see Kelly was trying to pull another Kim Zolciak moment ("don't do that to me, Andy." i.e. "protect me here, dude!") with Kelly saying Andy was making things worse re: her social media backlash. Kelly Dodd and Candiace from Potomac are cut from the same cloth. They can be so bold and nasty on social media, and then backtrack and play innocent when called out in person. Not gonna work, ladies. Meh. Glad it's only a two-parter. OC needs a major retooling for Season 16.

With NYC having to halt production (and postpone a trip) due to a castmember getting COVID, I wonder if they'll break the fourth wall about it, or gloss over it. I can see them admitting who had COVID, but hiding the fact that castmembers are irked by that person for postponing filming, and therefore prolonging their filming season, as they're at the finale point. With all the 4th wall breaks these days on Housewives, one thing they still like to keep under wraps for the most part is all the logistics put forth in filming/pre-planning, etc.

Did I miss the discussion here about Brawnwyn announcing she’s not returning to OC next season or does no one care? 😂

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I have to agree re: Kenya. The hateration has grown stale. We know what she has, we know what she doesn't have, we know what she wants... and her hating just reflects all her own insecurities. If she does it merely to stir the pot for television, well again, it's grown stale. Drew and her fineass husband are on another show. It actually felt weird having her call in to Cynthia (or was it Porsha?) to check in with them at Kandi's event. She feels like a completely random woman interspersed between scenes. Has she been to one event yet with all the cast? Cynthia's daughter Noel continues to WOW me every time she's on screen. Just a stunning beautiful girl. But please detach yourself from your phone every once in awhile unless you intend on needing glasses by age thirty. Porsha continues to give me the giggles from time to time. Other than that... Meh.

I'm not feeling Mary's look but I like the rest overall. I didn't realize they already filmed the reunion! Anyone know the total episode count it'll be? Wednesday was episode 10. RHOSLC: Rolling my eyes at Jen not taking accountability for her own actions/reactions. Was Whitney wrong to bring up the gossip at Jen's hubby's party? Absolutely. Did anyone force Jen to go apeshit and start throwing glasses and having a meltdown? Nope, that's on you boo. I love seeing Heather's self journey towards being a strong, independent and happy woman. I foresee Heather eventually settling down with a black man. I don't know why. A black husband, gay best friends, and drinking on the weekends while twerking with her cousin. I think that would make her life blissful. I don't know if I buy the reconciliation of Meredith and Seth. I think the lovey-dovey stuff is a bit overkill, kind of like when OC's Shannon and David Beador were overly horned up on their vacation after their vow renewal. I could see the honeymoon phase dying quickly and them going back to their old problems. The meeting of successful women in the yurt tent was... funny. I love how they glammed up the yurt, and I'm all for female empowerment, but it also strikes me as cheesy, having these women patting themselves on the back like that. "Yay us!" Gag. Jen already breaking the 4th wall with that dirty tub splash. Anything for a Teresa Guidice table moment. Overall, another good episode! Whitney was messy to bring up the gossip at the party, but she's still more mature than Jen to be able to take ownership of her mistakes and apologize.

Yeah, the real world events have definitely dampened the spirit of dishing about Housewives, but here goes.... NJ: Great promo! Looks juicy and messy with all the couples going through stuff. Yikes. Their cast photo is the epitome of Jersey: overly done up and spray tanned to the max. Although same could be said for Beverly Hills' overly done glam, just with lighter shades of spray tan goo. Who'd o' thought we'd have another 3 straight years of the same cast, the way we thought Caroline/Jacqueline/Teresa/Melissa/Kathy would never end? Yet, this current crop of women don't feel played out yet. Good. ATLANTA: Okay, I know I'm going to hell for saying this, but I finally realized who Riley reminds me of... Cleveland Jr. from Family Guy. It's something about the voice. I lower my head in shame though stifling a giggle. OC: That was such a ho-hum finale to wrap-up a ho-hum disappointing season. It felt like the finale party on the beach was filmed weeks after everything else. So Braunwyn officially came out. Yay. So Kelly was overly harsh on Braunwyn. Whatevs. So Shannon's friendship is all about ME-ME-ME to Gina the way she was ME-ME-ME to Tamra and used Vicki as a deflection as her marriage was falling apart. Bottom line: Shannon is a shi† friend. I really don't think she creates any genuine friendships from this show; it's strictly for the cameras. Surprisingly, Gina and Emily came out this season the best. With the OG's gone, it felt kind of weird having Emily be the last castmember to get the write-up at the end. Ditto it felt weird hearing OC's iconic wrap-up music being used for this B Team. I dunno. It was a crappy season. They could've scrapped it altogether and I wouldn't have blinked an eye. Reunion will probably be everyone ganging up on Braunwyn. Whatevs....

You are so right that Luann's real life drama helped even out the scales that were tipped WAY over on Bethenny's side. OMG Donn Gunvalson... he is so petty with his housewives trolling, but he's also damn funny.

First of all, @DaytimeFan @Cat @Taoboi... LOVED your Best & Worst lists! How could I forget to mention the wonderful departure of Terri DeMarco? Oh, that's right. Because she's so BORING she's also FORGETTABLE! Sutton said it best. And a +1 to Rinna needing to be the next Housewife to get her comeuppance. Right after Gizelle needing a true takedown next season, but I digress... RHOC: Elizabeth's cult confession is eye opening. Who knows what kind of ramifications will happen within the OC group by spilling the tea to Braunwyn, but WOW. That's a mindfukkery of epic proportions. No wonder she's so guarded. +1 on liking Emily and her family's authentic journey dealing with COVID versus Shannon's "ME ME ME" meltdown. Seeing her children eyerolling her on the zoom call... I think it's a combo of being spoiled brats as well as having Shannon Beador as a mother. It can't be easy being her child. +1 on side-eyeing Braunwyn when she made her daughter's COVID concerns all about her. Braunwyn is a lot to handle these days as a viewer. Add to that, her recent social media confession that she'd be devastated to see soon-to-be ex-hubby Sean with another woman. But... aren't YOU with another woman already? I also like Gina's commentary. She's not trying to be top dog, and I like that. Her quips are similar to Carole's over on NYC.... Which by the way, it does not surprise me in the least to hear the real reason why Bethenny turned on Carole! There's always an angle with Bethenny as it has been since day one, cozying up to Jill Zarin in the early years until she could stand on her own. Her humanitarian efforts are amazing, but in the arena of fame and fortune, she's always clawing for more.

Heather is full of so much win. I absolutely loved the fact that she already knew everything Jen had been saying about Meredith, but didn't spread gossip nor thought it was Jen's place to be going around speculating. That's a true friend; that's the real deal. Loved seeing Whitney with her father. So much history there with getting hurt and being disappointed in her father. It's no surprise that he's leaned on her financially for support time and time again. I'm glad she put her foot down about not supporting him this time. I enjoyed the house husband dynamic. Jen's hubby is actually pretty cool. I wasn't expecting that; I expected another Charrisse Jordan Jackson Jordan situation (I can't remember which last name goes first). I agree @Taoboi that the Meredith/Seth situation is the stuff of soap opera angst. Such an interesting dynamic. Ditto the dynamic with Lisa and her husband. Hubby & I find it funny and strange how they so openly admit their work comes first and their children come second. Add to that Lisa's comment that she'd like to incorporate her kids into her work in order to spend time with them. Her priorities regarding her children are a little out of whack IMO but then again I don't have kids and never will. 30 years from now, I'm sure she'll wish she had spent more time with her children and will smother her grandchildren instead. The snow ski jets looked fun. That's the only type of snow adventures I would do myself. I can't balance for [!@#$%^&*] and would die trying to ski. I can't even rollerblade LOL. Definitely the latter. I spy smirks from her bystanders. I couldn't keep a straight face with that clown either.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
***THE BEST & WORST OF 2020*** It's that time of year again, Real Housewives fans! Last year, I did a play on SOD's annual Best & Worst editions. This year, how about an overall State of the Housewives address, show by show? I'll start. Please make your own lists and share reasons why Love y'all! Best Show The Real Housewives of Potomac After waiting extra long for the women of the 20854 to return to TV (thanks, COVID!), absence indeed made the heart grow fonder when leading ladies Karen, Ashley and Monique returned, alongside supporting players Gizelle, Robyn, Candiace and newcomer Dr. Wendy. Never a stranger to breaking the 4th wall of reality TV, Potomac DELIVERED with juicy scandals onscreen and off. Though never a ratings powerhouse, this year's focus on the Monique vs. Candiace physical altercation gave the show mainstream attention as well as a healthy bump in their Nielsen numbers. Most Entertaining Show The Real Housewives of New York City The true comeback kid of all the Real Housewives, RHONY was re-energized starting in Season 7 with the return of Bethenny, the addition of Dorinda, and the rising star power of Countess LuAnn. As always, this past season provided belly laughs galore as well as plenty of tears and drama. I am cautiously optimistic about their new season coming in 2021, as their 2.0 reboot roster has left us one by one (first Carole, then Bethenny, now Dorinda and Tinsley), leaving us with our usual powerhouse players Luann, Ramona, and Sonja (the same 3 that survived the mass exodus of 2011), alongside relatively successful newcomer Leah. Knowing our RHONY vets, I'm sure they'll provide us with another year of laughter and bickering, but let's hope they ease up on the boozing this time around... Show You Love to Hate The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Love 'em or hate 'em, we're still watching them. While most of them are reviled pieces of garbage, we still view it like a bloody trainwreck. After chasing off the show's top star, Lisa Vanderpump, in the previous season, the RHOBH Mean Girls coven picked a new target this year in the form of Denise f**king Richards. Though some castmembers were finally called out for their shady financial dealings, they were mostly left unscathed. However, the tides seem to be turning on at least one housewife (Erika Jayne, a "pretty mess" indeed), which will make for a salacious story in 2021, as long as producers don't protect her again. Though Denise's performance was sometimes shaky, the majority of the audience remained on her side. Sadly, she will not be returning, but we were blessed with two fabulous newcomers (Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke) with strong rooting potential. Knowing Kyle's petty animosity and insecurity, Garcelle will surely be Vile Kyle's next target... Show You Don't Watch The Real Housewives of Dallas Sorry folks. I never got into this one. Show That's Heating Up The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City The new kids on the block, the women of the Beehive State are providing a strong and entertaining freshman season. Surrounded by snow, mountains, and the Mormon church, newbies Heather, Meredith, Whitney, Jen, Lisa, and kooky Mary have already given us much drama, laughter, and fabulosity. They also are not afraid to reveal intimate and vulnerable aspects of their lives (well, most of them. Jury is still out on Jen...). In just a short time, RHOSLC has become Must-See-TV in the world of reality junk food television. I look forward to seeing more! Show That's Cooling Off The Real Housewives of Atlanta The crown jewel of Bravo has taken a hit in the Nielsens in recent years, with RHOBH taking over as the network's top rated Housewives of 2020. Once upon a time, Nene Leakes was their leading lady, but her final year gave us nothing but mean mugs and polarizing appearances. This season seems to be a soft rebuild as they try out some new players to mix it up with their vets. The ratings are down as they slowly simmer to an eventual boiling point in storyline drama. Still, RHOA gets mainstream buzz and attention, as veterans Kandi, Cynthia, Kenya, and Porsha crank out yet another year of fun shade and reads. However, this may just be the beginning of a retooling of this aging franchise. Show That's Just Staying Afloat (TIE) The Real Housewives of Orange County and The Real Housewives of New Jersey Unlike Potomac, which leaked oodles and oodles of juicy storyline nuggets during their long break between seasons, it seems to be "Out of Sight; Out of Mind" for the women of the Garden State. We've heard virtually nothing about the new season of RHONJ, save for the fact that Teresa Guidice is finally dating a new man. Still, it must be noted that RHONJ successfully rebounded with their own 2.0 reboot after languishing for years with poor casting additions after the endless Teresa/Melissa/Jacqueline/Caroline/Kathy quintangle was finally put to rest. The addition of the hilarious Margaret (and don't forget Marge Sr.!), as well as Dolores (a real-life friend of Teresa), and relative newcomers Jennifer and Jackie, have helped rebuild this once-massive Bravo hit. Now that Danielle Staub has officially sworn off Housewives for good, let's see who's the target in 2021. My guess is the friction between Margaret and Teresa hasn't completely settled... Meanwhile, over on the west coast, RHOC decided to kick out their OG, Vicki Gulvanson as well as their long-running resident pot-stirrer, Tamra Judge, and rebuild the show around remaining vets Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd, and a gaggle of B-list supporting players (Gina, Emily, Braunwyn) and newcomer Elizabeth. Having the unpleasant distinction of filming during the lockdown quarantine of COVID-19, this season has showcased this weak cast's unlikable qualities more than their redeeming ones. There's drama brewing, with Braunwyn's newfound sober life and Kelly Dodd's crass and unlikable opinions about current social issues. With Nielsen numbers down and a general disdain from viewers for the majority of the women, they might want to try bringing back one of their stronger vets for next season...

See, now that's another thing that's infuriating. Monique's progress was real. Putting the "real" in Real Housewives. The fact that she found her trigger moment (her dad putting his hands in her face as a young kid, and no ability to defend herself) shows a therapeutic journey and real progress. It wasn't something just made up out of thin air. What kind of emotional journey has Crusty Napkin gone through? My guess is a very, very short one. In the end, Monique wins. She has the loving husband, the beautiful children, the gorgeous FOUR homes, financial security, and confidence in herself. Other than having beautiful girls of her own, what else can Gizelle boast?

Maybe we can finally get Katie Rost back If she's back in a better position from a mental and emotional standpoint. Recently rewatching Season 1 gave me a new appreciation for her, and she'd be a friend to Ashley and likely Karen.
