I third the motion about hazard pay. Sadly, that's as likely as getting a stimulus bill together at this point.

Meanwhile, close to home for me and @marceline:

@DramatistDreamer and @Juliajms oh it has gotten much worse. And as someone who has to deal with it, there is no excuse when we all are dealing with anger and frustration and are not taking out on the customers in front of us. I had quite a few people wanting to get attitudes with me cuz I asked them to put on their masks right when they are ordering. Most of these people were regulars. I had to school them on what they presume is rudeness from me is simple straightforwardness and THEN I showed them what being straight blunt was. They backed off quickly if clearly bothered.

One wanted to argue with me over the fact he was wanting a sandwich but wouldn't tell me which sandwich he wanted like I was a mindreader. Since I clocked him before he even entered as someone that was looking to 'play' non-wanta-wear-a-mask...I was not surprised. And he got read and reminded I shouldn't have to say anything at all at this point because we have been dealing with this SINCE MARCH. Aka not a kid, wear the frakking mask or as Mariah Carey would say GTFO.

Not that I've seen what my mother had to go through and worry about, YES you are not about to get me sick when you can get on your phone you are on 24/7 anyway and GOOGLE how to properly wear a mask and when you should have one. Or...DON'T EAT.

I will also fourth that. I wish I had it given what I have to deal with. And that is just in the rich part of town. Not the gay neighborhood which actually is worse nor is it where I actually is downtown where people have now taken to acting like a vaccine has been found. Uh...NO.

There's been a rapid increase in new cases here recently, so yesterday new restrictions were implemented in some regions, including where I live. Libraries, museums and other public buildings have shut down for three weeks, the ban on gatherings of more than 50 that had been relaxed somewhat has been re-introduced. We are also strongly advised to stay away from shopping malls, bars, restaurants etc and only use public transport if it's absolutely necessary. Schools will remain open for the time being, but those who can are strongly recommended to work from home.

I have been feeling a bit under the weather for the past few days, but I almost always get bronchitis and sinus infections this time of year. So I went to the local urgent care to get checked out...and ended up having a covid test done. I can't go back to work for several more days because I have to self-quarantine, and I probably won't get the results until Wednesday. (Well, at least I can watch all the election coverage I can uninterrupted.)

As someone who DID have the virus in March (we didn't get tested because the hospitals didn't have tests and we wouldn't qualify for whatever reason the hospital gave us), I can tell you, it won't manifest itself the same in everyone, but if you are able to take something to control your fever, if you get one, do it. You will likely lose your appetite and everything will taste like paste. I developed a love of orange juice through this time. There will likely be only one or two positions that you can sleep in without coughing uncontrollably, and good luck showering. The steam was good for clearing my lungs out, but I coughed so much I nearly passed out at one point.

Please get as much rest as you can, and good luck

    • Looking at those totals it seems most contract actors are on a 1 or 2 week average guarantee. I assume contracts are still operating on 13 week cycles so you would have to know the particular actors contract starting date to work out their guarantee. The question remains as to what actors listed as contract are actually recurring? Bryton ?
    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.
