In recent weeks, I've binge-watched:

- Strangers Things (all 3 seasons)

- Mrs. America

- Unbelievable

Loved Stranger Things & Mrs. America. Unbelievable was good, but I wouldn't give it the award for Best Limited Series (I'd probably go with Little Fires Everywhere or Mrs. America... although I haven't seen Watchmen yet)

Finally cruising into finishing MERLIN Season 4 and TELL ME A STORY Season 1.

Great job on TMAS in how they are taking fairy tales and making them even more twisty. I was wondering how Hansel and Gretel part was going to tie into its original but looks like it is finally about to happen. And loving the acting...especially from Kim Cantrell.

Chicago Fire (season 4), Chicago PD (season 3), Superstore (season 3), Black-ish (season 2), Umbrella Academy (season 2), The Boys (season 2).

Just finished season 1 of Greenleaf and season 1 of Ozark.

I just dropped Big Brother All Stars from my list. Could not anymore....

I watched Netflix's The Boys in the Band, and the word that keeps coming up in my head is "unnecessary." It's matched nearly word-for-word with the 1970 film, but something rings false with several of the performances (I was NOT feeling Jim Parsons until halfway through). There were lines that were delivered quite differently than they'd been in the old movie, and it just changed the tone of some key parts.

I try to evaluate adaptations/remakes on their own merits, but it's hard to do that with this when there are very little changes from the original. The only thing "new" this version had to offer were flashbacks during the phone game (which were nice but again unnecessary) and montage at the end showing where everyone ended up after the party - DEFINITELY not needed.

This was really just the revival cast/crew wanting to honor the original story 50 years after it first made it to the screen, so I can't be too hard on it. I think it just proves that some stories are woven into their era of origin, and it's impossible to replicate it later.

LOL!!! YES, it did.

And I started watching regularly when she started. I loved how they went about it. From sparring partners to friends to the legendary pairing. I cannot begin to tell you how I got annoyed with the Lana whiplash when they were finally starting to realize there might be feelings. lol.

I've been considering rewatching since I've forgotten a lot of it now, never saw the first three seasons completely, and wanting to see if my memories held up.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking

    • And, to me it is a little bit hilarious that AW fans all over continue to refer to it as Egyptian Dust Recently elsewhere I've been running polls. When did you stop watching AW or What storyline caused you to stop watching AW. You may be interested to know that sticking it out till the bitter end is winning by a landslide. Next highest vote getter is - no surprise - Frankie's murder. So that covers like 60% & next 20%. Then the votes drop way down to 10% and well below but a wide array of reasons are given, including but not limited to  Justine Lumina Rachel having twins at her age, how ridiculous Mac's death the 90 minute show firing JC, George R & Dwyer Hmm, I know there are a few more, in the 1%-3% range but I cannot think of what they are. Sorry, my bad. Should have made notes but I didn't know I would be posting about it. LOL!!
    • A kind angel has added both episodes to the vault (UK Diva TV broadcast version).
    • Yes, I think that is the most likely situation.  TPTB were unhappy with the offer(s) they got from the tourism board in Finland, and decided the trip was going to be too expensive for P&G/NBC to finance alone.   I would also speculate a similar situation likely occurred a few years later with the planned location shoot in Egypt, which was also cancelled after the storyline had already started, and changed to Arizona.
