Some new Australian broadcasts popped up on archive!

Partial episode from the week of March 25, 1985. This includes Dina and Brent's confrontation which leads to Kay being shot, and John seeing Ashley at the ranch after she lost her memory (we had seen this in some of the clip compilations).

End of March 25, 1986 (Paul and Andy find Lauren buried alive)

Glad you uncovered more of these treasures!

ugh.... the frustrating thing is that I think I can figure out the  exact date of the March 1985 one, because the full episode I believe is saved in the Chicago Museum of Broadcast Communications, with airdate and episode number given, but for some reason the Y&R list is no longer there...could someone help with this, unless I have the wrong website? They had quite a few episodes listed there, and even some original screen tests for failed auditions etc...

@BoldRestless Thank you for the links to the Australian broadcasts. With Y&R being so much further behind than B&B in Australia, that messed up the timelines when the crossovers began. I'm sure alot of countries where both shows were broadcast had similar timeline issues with the crossovers.

So true. For example, In Italy Sheila's first BB episode aired in late 1993. Sheila's first YR exit (may 1992) happened later, in july 1995.

Only a crossover was perfectly synchronized: the Brooke's Bedroom storyline involving Brooke, Ridge, Victor and Jack (dec 1998-jan 1999 in US and april-may 1999 in Italy). Even if the 2 soaps aired on different tv channels, they were owned by the same mass media company. So there were promos about the crossover on both channels and the episodes were put in the right order to follow the storyline.

Thanks for uploading them!

So I'm finding more on that person's page... not all are labelled as Y&R. This is a godsend!

This one is identified as Days but it's a 1988 episode of Y&R:  https://archive.org/details/days-of-our-lives-partial-nws-9-25-10-91

At the end here is a Y&R from maybe 1991 (Cricket flashes back to her wedding)... LOL at Brad and Traci's pool outfits: https://archive.org/details/channel-nine-daytime-timeshift-nws-9-25-04-95

    • Lol.  I love that this board still allows misinformation from a bad source.
    • Thanks @kalbir what a time to have enjoyed the peak of the primetime soaps. Haha you’re good. The only complaint I have with Lorraine’s death as I mentioned recently in the FC thread was it was overkill, and all we got Apollonia. If a pregnant woman had to be killed off, I would’ve chosen just killing off Robin instead in some freak accident or in the explosion at Richard’s to save us from us that disaster lol.    Did Hotel have a cliffhanger that year? I imagine if Hotel had been soapier we would’ve had cliffhangers like the hotel catching on fire or bombed by an ex-lover of Christine. Peter pisses everyone off and is shot in his office. Or a major Golden age star like a Olivia de Havilland shows and tells how she originally owned the Hotel and how Victoria Cabot & Laura Trent stole it from her but now she owns it etc.
    • The whole AMC 2.0 pulled it together in mere weeks to get a show up and running, with scripts and a cast.

Ginger Smith seemed really passionate about being in the executive producer position, and I think she really did a fantastic job in six weeks. It was just well done.
    • I totally didn’t pick up on that. Just perfect! I don’t get the Maurice Johnson hate around here at all. He didn’t take me out of the scenes at all. I understood everything he was portraying. It was great. I do wonder if there will be a personality shift with the new actor, whom I’m still not excited about. Exactly. Right? I’m in the exact same boat as you. Agree with most of this except I never found anything off with Ted, didn’t suspect a thing. I just watched yesterday’s episode and it was one of the best soap episodes I’ve seen in a very long time. I was enthralled the entire time. Just fantastic.
    • Yep! Very curious to see where this goes.
    • I was confused too, but I think it was always a "tribute thread" (this one and OLTL's were created when their cancellations were announced). They just changed the show abbreviations to their titles spelled out, I guess to make the board just a little bit more uniform. I was lost, too lol
    • Well... I am. I think she's losing her initial menacing presence. Slowly but surely. I need the crazy dialed back. But as I said... this is very miniscule negative reaction. I am loving the show right now. We'll see how they'll continue after the fireworks.
