I wonder how close this is actually getting green lit at this point.

Actually, that's a great idea. Sort of what they did with Night Shift on Soapnet back in the 2000s.

2 Years of Korte/Van Etten as Head Writers and....???
IMO, I've watched all of the remaining shows on and off the past few years, but GH has been the only one that has kept my attention the past year. Is it perfect? Of course not, but it's miles ahead of Y&R and B&B especially at this point in terms of story quality. I like how the show really tried to give us OMG twists that we didn't see coming. Storylines do have a sense of movement. They utilize and are developing the younger characters and aren't intent on trying to have actors in their 50s trying to play like the characters are still in their 20s (like Nick, Sharon, etc on Y&R). In fact, Y&R feels like it does everything it can not to feature an actor under 50 to the point of casting a woman who played his mom on another show as Noah's love interest. But, I digress. And, this might sound small, but I appreciate the mini-location shoots, such as that park recently. It helps open up the show and make it not feel as claustrophobic unlike Y&R (sorry to drag them more) where scenes are often just two people sitting at a table in a restaurant or bar and talking about whatever company "takeover" is happening now. The actors don't even move. They just sit for scene after scene. Having Willow be the one that shot Drew and its aftermath was genius. Those scenes with NLG where she had to give her closing statement after she figured out that Willow was the one that shot Drew were sooooooo good.

I feel like they're sort of fast-forwarding through this trial which I actually appreciate it. We didn't need a long dragged-out thing. I mean...legally...what happened was an assault and just that. I'm on board for Michael getting a new love interest. Serena has potential, and I like that she's a troublemaker. Great scenes with Tracy and Jason. Gasp! Are we finally leaving the mob stuff behind? Because there would be ZERO complaints from me.

I've missed AMC since the last episodes on both AMC and TOLN. I'm cautiously optimistic with the writers. I know a lot of people aren't fond of them, but they both undeniably love soaps. There has to be a huge pressure to get this right if it happens. A movie on Lifetime is about 82 minutes minus commercials which isn't a lot of time, so there won't be a lot of time to get that much done. I would assume each one will focus on pretty small group of characters within those time restraints. I really do hope it happens and gets encouraging ratings. It might be a small chance of getting an actual reboot. I mean, GH is almost always one of the top streaming shows on Hulu. The audience is out there.

Y&R: Jamey Giddens & Dan O'Connor named co-head writers
I'm cautiously optimistic. I mean, it can't be worse, can it? Can it??!!! I completely gave up on watching the show about a year ago. The non-stop talk about all these vague companies, and which companies were merging with which ones, and who was going to be the CEO of this company or that company. It was mind numbing and head scratching that the TPTB thought these "stories" were what their audience of mostly women (and gay men) wanted. There's been no real romance, human connection, and true family drama that doesn't revolve around a "company." There is no investment in the build-up of the younger generation. There is no "Young" in the "Young and the Restless" anymore. One of the things I love about soaps is the inter-generational aspect. But, Y&R's cast is dominated almost entirely by people over 50, and most of the cast is over the age of 40. Hell, even when they brought Noah on, they gave him a love interest that played HIS MOM on another show! They couldn't even give him a scene partner in their 20s. Make it make sense! I love Jack, Victor, Nikki, etc, but they can't be caring the show 10 years from now if it's to survive. Victor being a jackass to his family and being forgiven and his obsession with Jack has gotten beyond old. These characters need to be spun in an entirely new direction. The "psycho of the week" stories have gotten really old. I feel like the "Aunt Jordan" story was somewhat successful, so then they started bringing on ever former psycho that appeared on the show. They even tried to make Matt Clark, A RAPIST, the show's new leading man. It was disgusting. Also, almost every character is filthy rich. That takes out a huge potential for conflict. Which characters are trying to crawl and claw their way to the top? All we have is characters talking about merging their mega "companies." Do we even know what most of these "companies" do? It's downright bizarre writing. I feel like Audra was the ONE character who had potential in the past five years...most because of the actress. But, they squandered that opportunity, too. She could have been a character to slowly build a new family around. Speaking of families, the Newmans and Abbotts have all married and divorced each other so many times, they're basically one family. We need new blood. STAT. I feel like characters, such as Phyllis, are completely played out...at least with the material of the past number of years. We'll see what happens. Maybe I'll tune in out of curiosity when the new material starts. But, this show needs a HUGE RESET.

I just knew that Nina was going to push Drew into the water. CM has practically had a vacation for months now without almost any lines to learn! LOL

For me the biggest one has always been that Ted and Nicole look waaaaaaay too young to be the parents of Martin. Almost from the start, Martin and Ted have actually had very few scenes together. I think the reason is that it's hard to buy them as father and son. Nicole also looks waaaaaay too young to be his mother. With BC casting, it would have made much more sense for him to be Vernon and Anita's third child. But, too late for that.

Why didn't Katie bring up all the horrible things Brooke has done TO KATIE over the years?? Brooke saying that the Logans are a "good family." LOL Why isn't Steffy outraged over Liam's part in everything? He is the father of her kid. It's amazing how this show "conveniently" forgets these types of things. It's entirely plot-driven with no long-term consequences. All of this will blow over in a month or two and no one will bring it up like it never happened. I agree with the above. HT is an amazing actress, but I wish she had a show and writing that really allowed her to shine.

Tuned in for just a few minutes, and of course, it was a scene with people talking about merging random companies...AGAIN. Turned it off. Who at the network, Sony, CBS thinks these endless stories about random corporations, takeovers, mergers is something their audience cares about in in the least? I honestly don't understand the logic, and these "stories" have dominated the show for YEARS now.

Still no clue why Will and RJ fight over Electra. Maybe if they fought over Deke I'd be interested. But, Electra...even her name, I don't get it. We need a stronger female character for RJ/Will/Dylan to work as a quad. I don't know...maybe someone who isn't RJ's cousin?! I know they're not biologically related, but it's still creepy. I mean...this is LOS ANGELES....why can't we have a fiery Latina who's trying to crawl her way up...a 2026 version of Brooke who's also from the Valley. Someone that Brooke would hate for that full circle effect??? Eric should definitely have been taken to the hospital. Will's shown himself to be violent on multiple occasions. Are they just going to gloss over his apparent bro-y anger issues??
