This month should be good. Plus, they did another cast shoot this week, which is exciting! Hope they give us more than a handful this time around, and that it's actually people we want to see.

PREACH SCOTTY BALDWIN!

LOL

God. Grandpa Thug Sonny Corinthos. They really need to move past this. I'm sure Facebook loved it.

Not sure what to think on the Spencer reveal.

They really can't think Maxie and Austin have any chance or chemistry as a couple. Like ... just stop. It's awkward and you can tell it's forced. Please don't.

I wish Brook Lynn would be right about Austin but you know she's going to have egg on her face as Austin is some wonderful amazing man. I'd rather he be secretly bad, but I feel like we've done that too much lately and Maxie doesn't need another of those.

And there it is. Esme is with Ryan.

And Austin is with Scotty. Can they stop this? Maybe the Facebook Karens love this too?

I didn’t miss him at all. I reach for my remote every time I see him. Admittedly he looks better without the Rudy Giuliani shoe polish on his head. Why do women love this @sshole so much?

I don't get it. I don't get the appeal at all. I think many of them still cling to the memories of when Sonny was written by Claire Labine. Mo has charm so I can understand it but at the same time ...

Scotty's disdain for Sonny is everything. He speaks for so many of us. I didn't miss him at all. I liked "Mike". They need to blend the two and get him out of the mob.

Mo going grey works. I like it. It just seems silly to me that Sonny and even Jason are still mob thugs at this point. It doesn't work anymore

IMO, It wasn't good outside of Spencer really being remorseful and Sonny's reaction to Spencer being the stalker. I didn't like the way the spoiler sounded when it was mentioned how Trina/the teens would try and expose Spencer and I didn't like the execution of it. But Spencer was really sorry and that was good. Sonny was disappointed in Spencer but I believe he could forgive Spencer, he did mention he would talk to him again about the situation. Nik I think on the other hand will bascially disown Nik. I think that Sonny really doesn't like Nik (which was why he was so quick to want to deal with him) and he knows how Nik abandoned Spencer & he really hasn't been a fan of him. I think he may take that into consideration when he's talking to Spencer again about his actions.

He's more upset that Spencer sent the Teddy Bear to Avery than anything he or Esme did to Nikolas. I do think that Sonny did overreact with the way he barged into Wyndemere to deal with Nik. He should have told Nik what he really heard and some of that chaos could have been avoided. He also shouldn't have been so quick to want to harm Nik due to him being Spencer's father and also Avery's step-father. Also, wonder how the show may address Esme/Ryan's connection.

Also, I enjoyed the Jax/Carly/Joss scenes today. I like how they addressed and dealt with thing as their own family unit. I am liking Jax in this aftermath of Nixon Falls/Nina's lies storyline. He hasn't been judgmental, or been throwing people under the bus. He also hasn't been trying to make things worse, nor does he seem to be making decisions because he's trying to get Nina back. He's been acting pretty level-headed and actually seemed fair when it comes to all of the parties involved including Sonny. I do think he really did want to bring Sonny home to his family, though he doesn't really like him. Joss is angry at Nina and I am interested in seeing what happens the next time they have an interaction.

I also like Maxie and Nina's relationship. Maxie is supportive, but realistic and non judgmental in how she's dealing with Nina. And I've been enjoying Scott too.

I still cannot get over that they are writing SONNY to be the deus ex machina that unlocked the stalking storyline. This is exactly the kind of character-propping I didn't miss when he was away from the rest of the canvas.
This is a Victor Newman situation: any storyline, even tangentially connected to the character, ends up solved by the power of the great MANHOOD of Sonny. Urgh.
Another story whose payoff is disappointing for me.

Talking about dogs that didn't bark, while I certainly like their relationship too, I am quite surprised the fact Nina knew Peter was around and didn't say anything despite the danger to Maxie has not been made more of a thing.

Ugghhhh I'm tired of Sonny already. Go back to Nixon Falls, you insufferable pain in the ass.

Despite that, I did enjoy the reveal. I just really, really wish that Sonny hadn't been the catalyst for it. The storyline was going along just fine without him.

And the less said about Austin, the better.

I'm glad that we're getting some serious movement with the stalker story. I was starting to get bored, but I know that the last month on-screen has really only been 24-48 hours in Port Charles, so really a lot has happened in that time lol.

Was the Spencer reveal kind of anticlimactic? Yeah, but that seems to be all the show knows how to do these days. At least it was a bigger event than Sonny coming home, lol. Honestly I'm just glad that the truth about Spencer is out because the story was pretty much at a standstill until that happened. Nothing could move forward with Spencer as a character, Spencer/Trina, Nik/Ava, Spencer/Nik, etc. until the truth about the stalking came out. Now we can deal with the fallout and actually have things happening.

Of course Sonny was pivotal in the reveal despite having zero part of this storyline. Oh, and he's disappointed in Cam, Trina, and Josslyn. Whatever! Also, Sonny believing Esme who he's literally never met or even heard of was kind of dumb

I am glad that someone finally brought up that Avery isn't just Ava's daughter but also Spencer's cousin.

Great, now we get to hear Nina talk about what a good man Sonny is. Also, gotta love how Nina barely blinked at Maxie being like, "So I went over to Carly's and told her you knew Sonny was alive this whole time." No-Drama Hospital strikes again!

Look at him just standing there completely dumbfounded. LMAO! Nik is so crappy. "Ava and I were building a family. We would've let you in." WTF? Nikolas, Spencer is your SON. You don't need to let him into the family. Ava is the outsider - she's the one you and Spencer would be letting in. This is why Spencer feels like his father loves Ava more than him and it's why I can manage to have some sympathy for the little sh-t, lol.

Also, today was the first time since Esme debuted that Spencer has had an entire episode without her being in any of his scenes I'm also glad that we're getting back to the Esme/Ryan connection. She looked so happy to see him! I was getting really bored with her. We can only watch her cling onto Spencer and make smug faces for so long. Hopefully now we'll find out more about what her connection to Ryan is, and hopefully her dynamic with the teens, including Spencer, will be more interesting now that everyone knows she set Ava's car on fire. It will be interesting to see what happens with her and Spencer. He lied and said that he told her to do it, but he was still really quick to rat her out about the fire. She won't be happy, and Spencer probably needs to sleep with one eye open.

Austin is a total flop, and so is Austin/Maxie. They've got to be kidding with this. They can't be serious about pairing these two?

I like Yuri the bodyguard. He's a sweetheart.

That line made my heart hurt for Spencer. Nikolas just keeps making it clear his son comes second in his life. Which is in character but still really sad. I’m glad Spencer confessed though I guess this now goes in the direction of whatever future schemes Esme plans? I would really like Spencer to be in Trina’s orbit again so I hope this moves along quickly. One of the best moments of today was Spencer’s very sincere apology to Trina. Give us more of them show!

Esme really hates Ava, it was apparent in their scenes today. I need a good reason for that. The actress is much better when not smiling smugly - I liked that her smile with Ryan was different than her smug scheming smile.

Sonny is infuriating and I can’t handle that we are supposed to see his actions today as rational. Good for Nikolas for telling him he’s not even man enough to apologize. Next time remember you’re a Cassadine and threaten him with something horrible though.

I was hoping Scotty would mention what Sonny did to Karen, but of course the writers would never go there again.

Can Karen, as played by Cari Shayne just be alive. since she died on Port Charles during the Vampire story which GH is ignoring

    • Yes it does!! And neglect! They let it drop so long and so often it doesn’t really have much meaning beyond another recurring character killed off. I kind of agree. I don’t want Emma to be SA’d, but he was a creepy professor perv at first, and we could have higher stakes if they let him be a scumbag for longer. Even to add more suspects, like Gio punched his lights out for grabbing Emma innapropriately. Or even better, she punches him, then Gio does too. He had the potential to be fun for a bit longer. I always love it when they do a shooting in the snow on this show lol.

I went back to see how teen Sami even figured out how to sell a baby in 1993, and the recap is unintentionally hilarious. The exposition is so blunt it feels like the writers drafted it between bites of lunch. Suddenly there’s a teen mom named Karen who sold her baby through a shady lawyer, and somehow Sami just… knows this man and pays him with hospital volunteer money. You can tell they were trying to make the whole thing “plausible” enough, but also knew the baby wouldn’t be gone long enough to justify a real subplot.  I know one thing, if Karen had confided in Jamie, Sami would've never met Steve Miller. Jamie knew that snitches get stitches. Not to be confused with the horrific Stephen Miller, who was 8 in 1993. AND Just to show the audience how shady the lawyer could be, he was played by this guy -- Character actor Terry Wills was cast as creeps on every sitcom in the 1980s.
    • I can’t help but to get drawn in by Dani and Andre but it just angers me that it’s so obvious that they’re not endgame.
    • John and Marlena may have committed adultery, but they weren't going to be smug creeps about it. "Roman, how do you feel about the name Isabella Titania Brady?"
    • -- It's always amazing to me that these "terrible breakdowns" (by writers so bad they shall not be named) are saved by incredible script writers. Every time

-- Kat is a "spoilt bitch" while Eva isn't??? -- Does Kat go too far with her mouth? Absolutely. But I get it. Eva has done some terrible things and continues to enable her criminal mother while Kat's family and boyfriend DEFEND her and show her love. -- Eva's complaints about Leslie are meaningless, because they're never backed up with anything. I'll take "spoilt bitch" any day before I take "criminal enabling hoe." -- It's nice that Martin accepts Eva, but the way he's handling it is eye-rolling. Eva gets hugs and smiles and full acceptance while Kat is trashed -- to Eva's face. -- Martin is STILL obsessing over the Kat conversation about sex that Samantha heard. Are you kidding me with this? And now Eva offers to speak to Kat. Yeah, very cute that the sister who screwed the other sister's boyfriend is the one with relationship advice. -- The food at Uptown looked pretty good today. Orphey Gene's food has yet to impress me, and I think it's clear that the country club chef is an alcoholic who cannot control his kitchen.
    • At this point, Marlena, John, and Roman all thought Roman was Belle's father. Sami had switched the initial blood tests. When it was time for another round of tests (because Belle was jaundiced), Sami panicked and kidnapped the baby.  Up until January 1994, Sami was the only one who knew that John was Belle's father. Next up were Stefano and Peter, once Stefano read Sami's diary (he figured it would reveal what was going on between John & Marlena). Stefano revealed the truth of Belle's parentage to Roman AFTER Marlena revealed her tryst with John (about two weeks later, to be exact). Marlena and John were the last ones to find out (during February sweeps, naturally). The John Black name was revived in September 1991.
    • The show has been getting better and better. Dani and Andre solidly "coupling" has been amazing. Genie Francis says soaps don't do couples anymore...maybe Dani/Andre can prove her wrong. To me they are the best couple on the show.  Eva vs Kat is always great. The show continues to find ways to keep it going and I'm all for it. Kat annoys me so bad. She is such a spoiled princess and acts it. I agree the comment about wishing Eva had been aborted was low. If that were the case, then why is she constantly getting in Eva's face? Why doesn't Kat just stay away and ignore her completely like she doesn't exist? I know. I know. It wouldn't be soaping.  This Hayley plot to kill Bill now taking a detour onto Izaiah has me curious. Does Hayley even know what she wants? I can't wait to see the fallout for Hayley and Randy....but not too soon.  I am tired of hearing about Winterfest already though. Can we get to it? lol
    • Great rundown of Long's second stint. Now you got me wondering...and again, thinking how real life impacted the direction of the show. We were talking about how practically the minute Long landed back on GL, she wrecked Ross and Vanessa and threw Alan and Reva together. Soon after, Alan started pursuing Vanessa again (because he was SO afraid of the "real" feelings he was having for Reva for the first time in his life, LOL). It's like she was determined to do an Alan/Vanessa/Somebody triangle at some point. She started one with Billy as the third side (well, actually, Alan was the third side) back in late 83/early 84 before Bernau exited GL the first time. So she had to drop it. But since Billy was gone this time, she seemed to decide, hey, I'll do it, only with Reva as the missing side of the triangle. Then Maeve left, messing that up! So I wonder, would she have had Alan and Vanessa marry? Maybe not, but I doubt Vanessa would have taken kindly to being overthrown for Reva. Could have been done in a really humiliating way, like after the invitations went out or even at the wedding. Maybe she would have helped Phillip with his plot to dethrone Alan. Lots of interesting possiblities.  I did like the way this story was handled. Chelsea was clearly more in love with Phillip than he was with her. Even "dead," no one could compete with Beth. So it was always doomed, but they showed how Phillip lost his way because he was obsessed with getting back at his dad. I also thought the relationship between Alan and Chelsea was a little...strange. He was very much in favor of their relationship, even though she came from an even lower background than Beth's. She also always fiercely defended Alan. Which has made me wonder if--ick--one of the many writing teams was thinking about putting them together romantically. (Of course, in my headcanon, where Alan has a youthful romance with the never seen Reardon sister, his fondness for Chelsea then makes perfect sense.) I always wondered why they never thought of putting Chelsea with Rick, especially after they butted heads over the death of her fiance. Seemed like a no-brainer.
    • Aubrey's Marina was great...but they wasted her...she could have been a new Nola (since she was living in the BH I would have had her find the N.R. + K.N. thing Nola carved in her bedroom...."I don't know who this girl was but she seems to be as unhappy as I am stuck here.") And have her set her cap for a good recast Shayne and take on the Old Bag Reva when she tries to interfere.."Oh please, I heard she was back in Oklahamo giving blow jobs behind the gas station, and she acts like she is Mother of the Year...God I hate her."  When they recast with that boring Kit girl and then...cutesy Mandy it was done. I love the idea of Billy and Van bonding over hell on wheels Peter. and kicking **** to the curb.Billy went to prison to protect him from Roger but that was never mentioned when Billy returned. Peter and Aubrey's Marina would raise Hell together..do a Nolaredux  in that he bangs her, she gets preggers, passes that off as Shayne's with Ole Bag Reva suspicious...I could see Marina ringing a bell to get the Ole Bag to bring her some ice cream...."But Grandma...oh you hate that I am sorry, okay, Grammy, you know I can't be stressed and oh, Shayne would be mad if I lost the baby..."ah what could have been.

Yeah, that's I mentioned the christening, when the truth comes out Reading October and November 1993, what is actually nuts is how much story they went through in a month. Because John's not even interested in Marlena at the time of Belle's birth.  He is rebound lusting for Kristen, who delivered Belle (funny mention in SOD about Marlena being unable to service at the Horton cabin on her "cellular" phone, I assume there was heightened vigilance to the exposition covering the tech of the time).   And, of course, since it was Kristen helping Marlena give birth during a stormy night, they both looked glossy, windswept, and gorgeous.    Justice for Jamie, I bet she's still holding Sami's secrets wherever she is.
