I really respect her telling them she will not be making guest appearances.  It reminds me of Genie Francis letting ABC know she is not interested in being on the show without a contract.

Although I used to love Hope, they haven’t given her the right material or romantic interest in a very long time.  If I was her I would also be tired of trying to sell the lackluster pairings, poorly written stories, and being a cheerleader for the show.  Especially when the show comes to me and tells me that they want to write me out for several months and when I come back I get to sell another new relationship.

The Thing is if the return story was good maybe she would have agreed to a 5 month Hiatus but something tells me they had no idea what this exciting story would be so KA walked

Now would Corday be petty enough to recast Hope

If I were producer I'd hire ____________ as the new Hope Brady

And send Wally to GH and recast Justin with Gregg Marx. They'd be playing their ATWT parts as cop and lawyer. I know it will never happen but on well. Remember Days is taped in California where Gregg is and Hillary would jump at the chance to work with Gregg again.

Oh I forgot..yeah I'd pair Hope and Justin..lol

Sorry, @Soapsuds, but no thanks. Hope should not be recast. Not after 37 years. Add in that some actors that sparked on one soap can positively suck on another and...yeah. However, as Gregg Marx had already been on Days as David Banning, maybe resurrect him and bring him back to deal with Mama Julie and son Eli.

Maybe something happened where David had to fake his death? Bring back Valerie and have them reconnect...

It's somewhat reminiscent of Days pushing Bill & Susan Hayes aside in favor of Kristian & Peter. TPTB told the Hayes' there was no story for them, which prompted them to leave. They came back eventually, but I don't know if the show will last long enough for Kristian to rethink here stance.

    • Shut up, Dante and Lois.  I actually don't mind this particular soap trope, but in the context of this storyline, it just feels forced and unnecessary. If anything, this Dante/Gio tension needed to begin months ago. Plus, this storyline, in general, isn't doing Lois any favors either.  Emma comforting Gio was really sweet though. It's definitely time for the two of them to have their first kiss. And, Joss playing Secret Agent Barbie will just never work.
    • Note to makeup - Smitty’s eyebrows, bad clamshell look.

    • Okay I can buy that when Brook Lynn was a teen.  Now she knows the child is a boy one would think she'd be slightly suspicious.  Then again, Gio looks nothing like either of them so maybe not lol.
    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
    • Yeah.  The hot, poor bad boy with a chip on his shoulder but with a heart of gold was a common soap trope in the 80s

    • That's been an issue with me... the lack of a cohesive 'Have Not' crowd that has focus other than Leslie/Eva.   I would beef up Jan, Mona, Laura, Joey, and few other male characters.. and not just be out to overthrow the Duprees.. but co-existing and broadening the scope of the show since the show is called Beyond the Gates. I think the set up the show has with everything revolving around the Duprees will become predictable especially if they always win.   It would be like Victor Newman on Y & R for 40+ years.. always winning, hardly ever losing.   With MVJ/Guza.. both trained under that mindset... I fear that will happen.   I've always heard from a performer that is playing a character like Leslie/Dana that you have to find the victim/hurt beneath the surface in order to play a villain/villainess... and I think that's why I enjoy watching her.. because she brings so much more to the part than what the writers put on the page.
    • I figure that was really hard for Dom to do. I completely GET why they wrote it the way they did but I wonder if it was necessary. Meanwhile I have 2 really icky ideas in my head. Drew is going to blame Tracy KNOWING it was not her. Dante is going to blame Lulu.  After that, everyone else is going to be mad at Lois.  Tracy is going to double down on wanting to get rid of Sonny. Sonny's going to be more dug in to stay because he now has a new descendant.
    • I can actually buy Brook Lynn being so self-absorbed and incurious that she never thought to question why her mom and grandma were so attached to Gio.
    • It was overkill and the whole narrative Lois was too nice to the orphan kid when he was little, WHAT? Like Emma said no one thinks Gio is a troublemaker that gets 14-year-old kids drunk for fun. That being said, Lulu figured this Gio thing out in episode, but Brook Lynn never once questioned Lois and Gloria's attachment to a child that was the same age as the baby she gave up?  Ever?
