I just saw a promo for GH's return during a Buzzr rerun of Supermarket Sweep (by way of the Pluto app). I know that an early Sunday evening rerun of a 20+ year old game show isn't the cushiest place to put a promo, but it shocked because of how rarely I've ever seen a soap being advertised outside of network daytime.

B&B's attempts at shooting around distancing are awkward and hilarious - people just staring into space in close-up, and I keep expecting one to bolt for the door in terror. I cracked up at Sally Spectra collapsing and Wyatt just standing across the room yelling "Sally!"

GH, OTOH, is doing well with some angles and such but is taking too many risks IMO. Certain actors are getting too close, and there's no need for background actors. Write crowd scenes out for the time being. Others, like Chad Duell perched on the arm of a couch, are clearly taking zero chances lol. But no one needs to share a couch or keep advancing on each other which happened with Sam and Alexis yesterday. I feel like Frank is overconfident. But I just don't feel these shows should be filming at all. The miserable creative quality aside it's just not safe. A spread will happen.

Ha...and how about Steffy after her accident. Brooke, Ridge and whatshisname were outside of her room and were so far apart talking to one another. It looked very odd. And as they entered her room ...no one came close to her or the bed.

GH had extras today at the restaurant...yikes and as you said I saw very little distancing.

Wonder why they're being so risky. What are the guidelines for filming during this pandemic in LA anyway. They're obviously able to do what they're doing, I don't think TPTB would be foolish enough to break any laws, but it does seem odd that they're taking these chances.

I will say, I’ve been very impressed with GH. Idk what regular fans think, but I find the stories have momentum and we’ve seen a good variety of characters. It also helps that they have so many big sets so even with social distancing I feel like there is enough room for movement. On B&B in particular because they have less sets, characters and smaller sets u feel the scenes can feel very static. Everybody goes to their mark and just sits there. I’m not sure how safe what GH is doing is, but the show looks and feels great.

    • It was only recently announced that Denise Alexander passed away on March 5, 2025. She was my all time favorite actress and role model. She will be dearly missed.  Denise Alexander, ‘General Hospital' and ‘Days of Our Lives' Actress, Dies at 85
    • Hopefully Alan will actually read the book beforehand.

    • Am I the only one who immediately thinks of this every time someone mentions Smitty?

    • BITD I was posting about how interesting it was that Denise had been with this same guy for simply years but they just did not marry - then that year they married!
    • Random takes from this week: - Bill’s been played way too soft by the actor. I just can’t buy him doing anything truly sinister. I wish he had more of that old-school Victor Newman edge. - On characterization: I’m fine with Leslie being shown as a narcissistic and cruel mother—as long as she doesn’t tip into full cartoon villain territory. Dani’s involvement in Nicole’s storyline feels natural to me, and I really like that Martín is such a hothead, which totally clashes with his polished political career. No wonder no one wants to confide in him. Also, I don’t mind Haley’s characterization at all. - I’m still annoyed they dropped the whole lawsuit storyline. That’s why I’m a bit hesitant about getting too invested in the June plot. Also: I can do without another instant-sibling storyline. - Ashley and Derek? Totally fine with them in small doses. That’s the best way to handle those two. - Thank God Ted is getting recast. I honestly couldn’t handle that constant swaying much longer. - Speaking of Ted: maybe I’m in the minority here, but that hotel set is hideous. The oversized boiserie makes everything look flat, and that artwork on the wall? Bland, ugly, and lifeless. - I’m 50/50 on the product placement. On one hand, it’s totally misplaced and campy—especially when it shows up in the middle of emotional scenes. It just feels wrong. But on the other hand… here we are talking about Febreze and Tide. So maybe it is working? I honestly don’t know. - I don’t have any issues with the fashion on the show overall, but André’s wardrobe is just off. Not in terms of style, but size. His tops are way too tight and actually make him look even shorter than he is. Same goes for Smitty. Both of them would seriously benefit from some larger blazers or chunkier sweaters.
