Since Kyle, Summer, Lola, Theo, Chelsea, snd Abby are like half the cast YR can bring back safely because of age when production resumes, I would just as soon not watch. Worst, low stakes couples and boring, horribly drawn characters I’ve seen in recent daytime and I sat through GL’s last 5 years. Not to mention every sceene would take place on those flimsy plastic Society and Grand Phoenix sets. No thanks.

Good!  It's not necessary to use blow up dolls and spouses because you can't really show the love scene.  Soaps were built on "love in the afternoon".  Bold has only 1 story on the table at any given time so they have to rely heavily on romance.  There is plenty to do w/out having to resort to dolls.

I am a heavy streamer and not one show I watch has a couple I can root for (except for Netflix's Sex Education), but I watch because the shows are good.  I'm still looking for a pairing to stan, and clearly, Daytime is not the place to shop. Anyhoo, Bell is a proven hack and now viewers have to watch his fantasies play out onscreen?  It's like he's been waiting for something like Covid.

They don’t.

However in Thudley’s case he has spent up so much time hauling the show off to remote locales all just to two characters kiss in front of the Eiffel Tower, Sydney opera house, Kremlin whatever etc. while their significant other/rival watches on in dispair.

Is BB returning to production tomorrow? I know they mentioned the 23rd but it's been quiet since then, so I'm curious if it's actually happening or if they're keeping quiet now because it looks like they may have to wait longer than expected.

EXCLUSIVE: The Young and the Restless is poised to become the second U.S. daytime drama to return to the set. I hear the producers for the soap have sent a letter to the cast and crew, notifying them of a tentative plan to restart production on July 6.

As is the case with any production plans during the pandemic, which are in flux because COVID-19 conditions change daily, I hear July 6 was listed in the letter as a goal, not as a firm restart date.

I so agree with you cause current state of Y&R needs a whole revamp of changes to make me wanna tune in for there poor excuse for story telling smh.

Also your right if they stick to the classics that are actually worthy then im fine cause we aren't missing anything with the new ones.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
