Tuesday's US episode is a perfect example of why Tognoni will be missed in this role. The way she laid into both Nick and Jack in separate scenes was executed perfectly - Stafford often diverted to flaring her her damn hands and uncontrollable yelling in scenes like that.

Tognoni brought a certain level of class to this otherwise trashed up character that often made her likable, even when Phyllis was clearly wrong, and that's all going to go away now.

Amelia Heinle posted a pic with Gina saying she missed her already. A bunch of people commented saying this sucks and she shouldn't be replaced and Josh Griffith liked a bunch of those comments. Umm, I'm confused. Wasn't he partly responsible for this?

Anyway, the outpouring of love for Tognoni from her fellow castmates has been super sweet (and honestly a little shady to a returning MS on some of their parts).

Sharon Case and Eileen seem REALLY upset about Gina leaving.

Since she stopped taping last week I assume her last airdate is around the first week of June.

And speaking of being shady on Twitter Mal Young immediately signed back on to be messy after winning that Emmy

They stepped up and we got Maria Arena Bell. No one listens to the Bell family now. IMO didn't they lose their leverage basically? (And Sussman/Alden were meh and lots of folks trashed them, when, in hindsight ...)

People also fail to realize that none of Bell's children love this show or have the passion for it that he did. Y&R was basically his other child - hell it's engraved on his tombstone, lol.

Bill Bell, Jr. signed off on many of Latham's changes, and hired his wife. LOOK where both of those eras got us. The Bell's still profit heavily from this show, but after the MAB era,  Sony/CBS probably assume they're better off with keeping them passively rather than actively part of the show.

Lee Philip Bell still shows up to every Y&R celebration, but that's probably more of a publicity thing than anything else.

I do find this funny though - Lauralee Bell has appeared more in the post-MAB era of the show than she did when her sister-in-law was there.

On yesterday's show, I dldn't like how Kyle/Lola continued to flaunt their affair in Summer's face. I also didn't like how Kyle and Lola reverting back to the same toxic behavior they had going on before they broke up again. I didn't like seeing Kyle ask her permission to go on a business trip for his own's family's company.

On today's show I thought that Sharon telling Rey about how Adam helped her deal with her mental illness were decent scenes.

And I wonder if they will end up pairing Cane/Traci romantically. She was acting pretty happy with him today. She was opening up to him and venting about her frustrations about how Jack/Ashley are fighting and laughing quite a bit with Cane. Both them seemed like they were enjoying each's other company.  I wonder if they will just keep them friends that grow closer or if they will actually try and pair them romantically.

Also, I thought that Cane's black and white fictional alter ego Flynn was kind of cheesy, lol.

And I was glad to see Elena open up a little more. It definitely looks like Devon will continue to struggle with his grief of losing Hilary and the baby and will continue to see visions of her as he tries to move on with Elena.

Yeah we've seen large age differences, lol. Including very recently (Jack/Kerry) a pairing I liked.

I don't know if they would pair them romantically, but I wonder... They were laughing/enjoying each's other company quite a bit today. I thought there was an interesting vibe going on there.

I love Traci Abbott too much to watch her get sucked in by the Aussie Con Artist. Perhaps either Jett or maybe if they have Traci become a literature professor at GCU she can become romantically linked to the father one of her promising students or the President of the University.

    • Lol, I enjoy classical music and I really think Gio is a talented musician.  I just don't know if it's the soundstage they are filming it on or what, but it sounds so screechy on TV.  I don't recall all his performances sounding like that. Rocco-"this was all my fault not Gio's or even Danny's.  No one made me drink.  I am being accountable". Dante-"Nope still 100% GIO's FAULT!!!" Just shut it Dante! Alexis and Lucky deserve more than having to protect Kristina's crazy butt. I like Cody and Lulu teaming up.  Finally someone is agreeing with Lulu.
    • After watching the performances tonight I can't understand why Finland and Malta are seen as some of the favourites. Finland's song is not one of the best this year and I maintain that Miriana Conte who represents Malta is a poor singer. My guess is that it's because of the controversial nature of both these songs. I'm not all that impressed with Austria either. But France on the other hand emerged as a big contender tonight. A beautiful song, a wonderful singer and fantastic staging. Greece also had a spectacular stage show which definitely enhanced their chances. I guess it's part nostalgia factor but I really want Luxembourg to go through to the final as well. I love the homage to France Gall and Laura Thorn sold the song very well. Much better than in the clip from the national final.
    • The older Ted was more unlikeable. The character came across warmer and mo sympathetic today whereas the older one portrayed him with a dark side. Thats why I said his scenes with Leslie will tell alot bc thats where he comes across the most like a villain and had me feeling bad for her at times
    • I completely agree @Soaplovers with your excellent comment.  And the bold, confident Stephanie we saw in her previous incarnations would be a much better match for Alex than the one trying to play house too soon. Let’s not forget: Alex came on the scene as a walking red flag with a gym membership—dodging commitment in love and work. And now he’s out here giving career advice? From a man whose last job was playing a soap star no one in Salem has even heard of? Sir. What I’d love is for Stephanie to be a genuine challenge for him—not someone who bends to his charm, but someone who knows she’s the prize. She’s a free agent in Salem: no ex-husband drama, no kid in tow, no awkward family entanglements. Let her be more like Kayla now—centered, respected, and not here for games—than Kayla was when she was falling off motorcycles with Steve. The next great Salem love story shouldn't be about chemistry alone. It should be earned—like Patch and Kayla, Shane and Kim, or even Bo and Hope on their best days. Give us slow burn, mutual respect, and a Stephanie who makes him level up.
    • It's looking like I may be in the minority, but nuTed is a major improvement to me. I agree, it will take a few days to get used to the higher pitched voice and smaller stature, but his acting is so much better. I can feel the emotions in his voice and face and it just feels more real and natural.  Kat was great today too, giving us the tears and her softer side. Loved Leslie/Bill - we need more of this!  Did y'all notice Leslie's snake necklace?? So creepy, but fitting for her haha. Tomorrow should be an updated intro with Keith, unless they repeat the second one for days until they get it updated.

    • It was all about Gio today, boys

He was really sweet and dorky though, and I enjoyed the violin lol. And he looked good too  I'm speculating that the big reveal will happen at Gio's birthday party. It's definitely time. But yeah, he really should've gotten advice and encouragement from someone, from anyone other than Sonny though. And while I understand where Dante is coming from, he was a little annoying today again. They really needed to establish this tension and anger a lot sooner than now, or not do it at all. Plus, this had already been done with Mac/Cody, Nina/Willow, etc., and honestly, it doesn't seem necessary here.  As for Lucky and Liz, as much as I like angsty couples, I'm still concerned about what Frank may (or may try to) do with them. The biggest reason why Lucky is like a 'cowboy' is because this friggin guy spent the better part of a decade basically erasing him from existence.
    • True, lol. IIRC, Rita Moreno said in an interview that part of the problem was that Susan Harris was ill during the week they taped that episode and therefore was unable to make needed script changes.  I wonder what might have happened had they been able to delay the taping until she felt well enough to work more on the script.  I feel like "Nest" might've sold with Moreno and Paul Dooley (although the patient with DID would've needed to be eighty-sixed regardless, lol).
    • What is the most recent episode in which Maurice Johnson's Ted wore a turtleneck?
