How soon into Sally’s run did Mal pull this stunt? Wow, the more that comes out about the brief SSM/KA run, the more it appears the deck was stacked against them from the beginning. And I know that SSM came in with no solid plan... but it seems like that’s more on Sony/CBS than Sally herself. Steve Kent and Angelica McDaniel have been common denominators here among this set of pit vipers for almost 8 years.

I have no inside scoop but it always felt like Mal was desperate for the HW gig and probably did all he could to make it happen for him. It sounds like I was right in thinking that, so ... he probably meddled relentlessly. Sally and Kay probably never really stood a chance.

Regarding this week's episode, so far, I wonder what Ana's secret is. Devon ran a credit check and found out it was squeaky clean. I think that Ana may be financially supporting someone, and I wonder who that person is.

Also, I liked the Nick/Sharon scenes where he supported her and said that Rey took advantage of her.  And I thought that the women being found guilty of all charges and the sentences the women got were interesting, (3 years for Sharon, 10 for Victoria and 30 for Nikki). But I think that the Jury/judge just couldn't overlook how they hid JT's body and buried him. And all of the lies they told in regards to that situation. If they had told the truth after Nikki killed him and not did the other stuff, most of them wouldn't have went to jail. And Nikki would have gotten a much lighter sentence.

I thought's today's love scenes with Kyle and Summer after they got married were well done and pretty romantic. They got the rose petals on the bed and the romantic soapy music going on. And he picked her up and carried her. It was nice to see Kyle finally get a love scene and he really wanted to make love her. I do believe he does care for Summer, and he has been supportive, and gentle with her ever since he agreed to marry her. With them consummating their marriage, it is now a legitimate marriage. I do wonder where the show will end up going with this triangle this time around.

I am glad they are using the classic music cues again. Also, it looks like Monday is the first day we really start to see Josh's influence in the writing.

The writings credits are now saying being written by Josh Griffin and Mal Young. I think on today's show and yesterday as well, you could see Josh' s influence in the writing. I believe he may have decided to make the decision to have Mia really sleep with Arturo instead of him just walking away like originally happened. Arturo really is a big hypocrite. He bashed/threatened Kyle for kissing Summer after Lola broke up with him, but Arturo cheated on Abby when they were together, with his brother's wife again.

I wonder what will end up happening with this storyline involving the introduction of Ana's dad. It still seems like Ana isn't telling the whole truth for some reason. Jet doesn't seem like he's really being deceptive, but I do wonder if there is more to this storyline. Elena is very cute and I could see her and romance eventually happening between her and Devon.

Also, I wonder what type of complications Summer has from her surgery. I do think this may force Kyle to tell more people that she's the donor and I also think it may make him realize he cares for Summer more than he realizes.

    • If Reginald had had more dimensions he probably wouldn't have been killed off and Carl might not have been brought back to fill the international supervillain role. I think though that the Loves were also severely damaged by the way Nicole and Peter were made iredeemable and written out. I definitely feel that loss more than the loss of Reginald, primarily since they were good characters to begin with and were only ruined during this period.
    • What if they were originally cast as Vanessa and Doug's twins and then were moved to Samantha/Tyrell when the show decided to delay introducing the twins? It's a shame they didn't stick with the original plan. BTW, does anybody have any new speculation on what Martin's secret will be? Brandon is hinting nobody is guessing it. Initially I thought it would be something where he was drunk and killed somebody or something like that but now I'm feeling like maybe it wasn't completely his fault. I don't get the vibe they're going to take him in a dark direction anymore.

    • I don't think some of Samantha's hairstyles have worked with the ponytails and bows making her look like an older adult wearing a 10-year-old hairstyle.    Bows work on Kat much better for Kat's age and personal style. We've known since the start that Eva was a hairstylist before she began working for Nicole.  I like that they brought that back, with Ted arranging for her to work at a high-end salon.  Yesterday's scene with Martin bringing Eva over for pizza with his family, and then Eva doing hairstyles for Samantha worked (for me). I did think that the new hairstyle that Eva created for Samantha was less "little girl" and somehow even though more mature, it made the actress Najah look less aged. Can't quite explain it, but she looks better now.
    • That backdoor pilot may have failed, yet one year later "Empty Nest" became a reality anyway, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

The show was completely revamped of course, but still....
    • Honestly, either 6-7 and 10-11 would've worked better. But maybe they wanted actors who wouldn't be held to child labour laws and needed them to be able to act, especially if they're (eventually?) going to go with their bio mama showing up (June??).
    • I thought it interesting that in the Claybon/Manning youtube with Michael Fairman, Brandon Claybon said Samantha and Tyrell were initially supposed to be 6 and 7, but aged up for technical reasons, first aged up to 10 or 11, and then finally to 16 and 17.  (Not sure what "technical reasons" means but that's what he said.) Claybon didn't mention when this decision was made to change the ages of the children. No mention of when this happened during the process of casting/writing/preparation. Just speculating: I wonder if Najah Jackson and Jaden Lucas Miller were cast later than other recurring actors due to this change? - so maybe that's how they selected Ms. Jackson?
    • Damn, there was a tiny pre-emption where I'm from and I missed the Kat/Nicole scene, according to recaps.
    • That Kristina caused the accident.
    • I'm unclear:  What specifically does Lucky know about Elizabeth's accident and Kristina?
