Yeah, they had actually done plenty of setup in Pratt's first two(?) weeks pre-disaster for Austin and Summer's class/moral differences tearing them apart, and for him to be more drawn to edgy Mariah. All you needed to do was keep Matthew Atkinson in swimwear and not saying much as a prize for women to fight over, and he would've been in good company with Bill Bell poolboys past. He didn't need to be some major plot mover. He would be incidental to the strong women.

I'm watching tomorrow's episode right now thanks to some great Canadian who sent it to me. It's alot better than today's.

SPOILERS: Do not read if you don't want to be spoiled.

Austin is probably not going to be the only death. Hillary has no pulse. Looks like she's probably gone if something don't change by the end of the episode. Dylan showed up at Sharon's. And, Billy/Connor are stuck in the penthouse fire and can't get out. Chelsea got out safely with Johnny and Katie.

Wow..more craziness….just for pure shock value with nothing else to offer with it.

Finished the episode. So. I'll tell more.

Lily is found by Cane. She's fine. You can tell that because one of the first words out of her mouth was "bitch" referring to Hillary. And, she's up walking.

Hillary got her pulse back

Sharon is slightly injured

Adam saved Connor but left Billy unconscious. He's gonna go back to get him.

And. Mariah had a flashback of what looked like Courtney and Austin making out during the party. Personally with Courtney's odd behavior. I think she really did it and is trying to frame Summer.

And I'm beginning to think that Austin's "death" might be a red herring too, but why? This whole story makes no freaking sense.

In any case, this Death Cabin for Cutie story makes NO sense at all. Did Chuck Pratt pull an inverse Aaron Sorkin and take some (illegal) meds before writing this script?!

Still, this is all around weird and pointless when it comes to a storyline.

Lol Pratt will be lucky to last a year no doubt the Bell family is not pleased with this and if they convince CBS he will be out. And in the way he was hired I bet their's some pissed off executives at CBS ready to dump JFP and Pratt. No doubt long time fans of the show will demand Pratt exit and soon!!!

I don't think it would be that difficult, if they knew what to do with Kyle, and positioned Kyle in the role Billy should have had before it was tanked by Miller and Methuselah. He'll never be exactly what John was, but with Ashley and Traci still alive, he wouldn't have to be. He could still be a quasi-patriarch watching the younger generations clash, and occasionally succumbing to his own foibles.

Bergman is too asexual and mannered at this point, and even if he wasn't, even if someone else was in the role I had more time for, the character's stories are just silly and tacky and degrading.

I'll agree with you that he certainly shouldn't be a lead love interest anymore, but it's impossible for me to see him as a moral center or a patriarch with any credibility at all. John Abbott raised his children. He was a decent man. Jack didn't raise any of his children and he's an SOB, even now.

Even if Kelly is crazy as a bed bug the way he has treated her since Phyllis returned is deplorable. I can't see John Abbott or any decent person using a woman as vulnerable as Kelly the way Jack did. I'm ready for Patty to come back and finish him off.
