The show is getting a bit plot driven and I am sad. I am sad Jean P and Shelley Y&R was cut short. They brought us such intelligent psychological moments. The stuff with Phyllis and Sharon in the stairwell wss excellrnt stuff ass was the Jack and Phyllis scene. They were just emotional problems. For you guys complaining about Pratt I don't feel sorry u chose to complain about a smart soap. What they did was too smart for CBS and Sony execs

Pratt is clearly already hitting hard, but a stopped clock is right at least once a day: Everything with Summer and her insta-marriage to convict Austin should've been done like this long ago.

The clumsy attempt to re-pair Joe and Avery is silly, but it beats watching more of Dylan and Avery, though Joe is a little more than a piece of varnished wood and should be fired immediately (along with Jessica Collins, sadly). Meanwhile, Sharon Case is struggling to stir the embers with Burton. They are clearly hoping he will be her big ticket.

Kelly Sullivan is being devolved to campy bitchiness, which she always gets too broad with - on a theatrical stage I'm sure she is a great comedienne, but a little of her big crazy act goes a long way with me very fast. I was fine with her as the mysterious, quiet, regretful woman alone in a rich old lady's house, wistful about her dead beloved, but I don't need the return of Connie.

It's hard watching the scenes Hartley shares with Jenkins. This is SO not what Billy is supposed to be, almost feels like a blah-impostor.

Also, Hartley and Sullivan work well off each other as the so-called "couple."

ICAM with this.

I like Sharon and Dylan as friends, although the chemistry is there, I agree. I thought Dylan showing up at the courthouse last week was awkward, though.

There have been subtle changes under Pratt that I've noticed, like camera angles, music, etc that I think are an improvement. But they seem to be inconsistent - maybe that's when I notice them when it does happen.

    • I agree with you on all of it. After what we got from RC for YEARS, seeing real soap is beyond refreshing. I like "romantic leads" who cannot be ignored. Kate is definitely revived as a character, and a lot of the credit goes to Philip. JPL has been really good since his return, and I hope they keep him around.
    • He might just be. lol. Cuz the 5-14 episode was a masterpiece. In more ways than one.

    • So basically this is the new Party of Five and Charmed reboots?
    • 5-16   Build, build, build. So much of it going on and not bored by any of it. A story continued to be the fallout from the SilkPress/Eva reveal. And I'm happy to see that the fallout made it all the way through the week with C plots being built up to B plots. And then little subplots (Dani's business, Vanessa and her roleplaying games) to keep in mind.    Now that I've watched it several times...all I can think of seeing Silk Press Sheila with NuTed is hmmmm. Honestly, while I felt Trish and Maurice had chemistry, I always felt character-wise that SilkPress and Maurice's Ted would never get back together. At most, I could see them having hate sex. However, SilkPress with Keith's Ted...how to word this...I feel like...in spite of all of her scheming...she has a chance of getting him back given how Trish and Keith interact with each other. And I feel like she's giving 90s DAYS Sami Brady with Austin Peck's Austin where Sami would be playing it to the hilt and Austin...even when he knew better...would STILL be falling for her tricks. Or even when Sami would be somewhat redeemed and he had a 'right' to like her, it would end badly cuz she did something. That was the vibe I got from the SilkPress/NuTed scenes. Keith's Ted definitely came across as a romantic lead in a triangle versus Maurice's Ted where even though he messed up, I saw him only having eyes for Nicole. So...Hmmmmmm. Mind you, I don't see Keith's Ted as stupid/dumb like Austin Peck's version of Austin on DAYS.   Kat being on the case and looking into Laura's accident and giving her recording to Jacob also continue to spin the story into its next logical direction...even if Kat has it tagged on the wrong person. The walls may be closing in on SilkPress, but like she said a while back...she still has tricks up her own sleeves. And I just know the rivalry between Kat and Eva ain't over so this is just another match to the fire. And it'll be good to see Jacob in cop mode. Then Nicole still dealing with her own feelings and wanting to sell the house. Good scenes with her and Vanessa.   And while that was all going on...the plots around them...   1) MARTIN'S SECRET. I have enjoyed how Bill's little seed has been growing in Smitty's mind. And Smitty's being in reporter mode. His scenes with Nicole to see if he was right to be second guessing himself was well-done. I didn't get it at first viewing, because I would think he would be happy that Martin backed down. But I'm seeing it through his reporter eyes, and I get it. And of course, I live for Smitty's scenes with Bill. And Bill is just getting too much glee with messing with Martin and Smitty.    2) ANITA'S STORY. Yassss!!! Oh, Vernon...how I love you. I really enjoyed seeing him slowly coax Anita into calling yet another bandmate. I felt CD and TT were really giving how a relationship can be. And I enjoyed it. Of course, I enjoy that it's clear that Anita wears the pants in that relationship...not that Vernon don't have his moments. They just complement each other so well.   3)MS. JUNE. Outside of the fact that I thought that surgery happened too quickly, good to see her out of surgery. Not to mention seeing Nosy Nurse. Say what you want about her ability to get the tea, but she's really great at her job, and it's great to see.    Well...Doug still has a week. Dani and Pamela are still working on a business. Vanessa is still playing. And it's nice to see those threads still around. But not a major focus yet. And it all still flowed.   And of course...a Friday cliffhanger with Jacob taking Silk Press Sheila down to the station.   So great week of soap overall for me. It doesn't seem like today's episode is going to be loaded on my system until tomorrow. But I guess that is what apps are for.

    • Hold up, is SD making the booty pop? Maybe he's trying to compete w/ the BtG booty popping hahaha.
    • It's sad she can't be a part of his on-screen tribute somehow.
    • I feel the same. I didn’t expect to care about them but the chemistry is strong and I’d love to see them go public and try to make it work.
    • Keith D. Robinson has a lot less screen presence so far than Maurice Johnson had, but I think he's probably a much better technical actor.  I couldn't be happier we're finally moving along with the caucasians. Andre and Ashley better be f*cking by the end of the week, or so help me, just to move the story along even quicker. That's the second time there's been a hint that Dani will get involved with the Doug/Vanessa/Joey story somehow. Maybe it'll happen in response to Andre/Ashley getting together?
