I enjoyed the Maxie/Lulu/Patrick scenes but the story has been horribly done.

Well I definitely don't think that the story is over, that's for sure! It wouldn't surprise me at all if Patrick "graduates" from pill-popping to actually using street drugs (heroin, cocaine, etc).
