We know she hated how vindictive Alexandra had turned in the last year of her run with the Mindy storyline and that played some minor part in her deciding it was time for her to retire.
The question, though, is did she ever say something? She had interviewed many times that she was not interested in influencing the writing on any show she has been on. Her job was acting whatever is written for one and her acting was just her job, for two.
Would it have influenced the writing if she had said something? I dunno but I doubt it. They didn't listen to her asking for a lighter schedule so I doubt they would have listened to the substance of the writing.

In her infamous exit interview, she said she had complained about how long the day had gotten twice, on behalf of herself and the cast/crew, and wasn’t shy about wishing the current story for Alexandra was over and moved on to another.

A Martinez has said she approached him around this time to join GL, but he had a new baby and didn't want to leave LA. I suspect (bot no proof) that JFP had him in mind to play Detective Cutter, who debuted in October 1993.

On top of all that, wasn't A still a regular on LA Law then?

And sadly, after she left the Jenna/Roger take over of Spaulding took place, which Bev would have been great in.  Watching clips you cna see that they rewrote some Alex material into Van...(convincing Henry to lie about being Jenna's dad, etc.) I just wish they had  just not recast Alex and morphed Van into an Alex position as being head of Spaulding, etc.  They could have still had their boring Matt story but Van would not have been robbed of her power and not become the sighing woman later. They were so wedded to their formula of Mindy/Nick with the evil mother.

How far into 1994 did that channel get? The last episode I watched was Nancy Curlee's last credited episode.

July 1994, at least.

Yup. He hung around late into the final season, leaving with just a handful of episodes left.

Mid-July 1994.

I didn’t realize it until seeing Bandstandmike’s uploaded videos—Jocelyn Seagrave (who played Julie Camaletti) and Nia Long (who played Kat Speakes) left in the same episode of CBS’s Guiding Light. (Long returned in October 1994, as a guest, to wrap up the Kat-and-David love story.) Two episodes following the series departures of Seagrave and Long marked the series debut of Ron Raines taking over the reactivated role of Alan Spaulding. (Raines played the part, and stayed with GL, until its last episode in 2009.)

Bandstandmike did a lot. I applaud him. And this does stink.

Now Alan and Kim Zimmer have nothing to talk about!

I didn’t see his work on Ozark, but part of me is glad he was snubbed as he always turned me off on GL and the hype machine around him at the time was too much and not warranted, IMO.

The hype machine is still alive. He's mentioned in ever GL reunion and in some ATWT ones. I'm so happy he didn't get nominated.

Tom played a manic depressive version of Jonathan. Where he chewed the scenery like he did on GL. He was one of the worse things. About this overhyped but good show. Thankfully he was killed off. The accent he used was so bad.
