Even if he doesn't say another word the damage is already done. I can't count how many people, including famous people with large followings, I've seen saying they will vote for him. If their states have write-in laws, they now will.

I must be on a totally different wavelength because I have yet to hear any single person say that they will vote for Kanye. People are talking about 'splitting the Black vote' as if Black voters are stupid and fall for anything, when the majority of donors and financial supporters of conmen like Shaun King are white, who continually ignored the warnings of black women and continue to contribute to that fraudsters.  Black voters are not stupid and we are not a monolith.

I saw some controversy over posts like this:

https://thesource.com/2020/07/06/2-chainz-endorses-kanye-west-for-president/

I will say my complaints aren't about a black vote as much as it's about younger voters who don't like Biden and are looking for a protest vote. I guess if they do they will probably find anyone to vote for with or without this announcement, but I feel like Kanye gave them a big opening.

This.

2Chainz can go sit in his VR chair.  Does he even vote??  Does Elon Musk even vote?

I've talked to my nieces and nephews, some of whom are voting age now and they have told me that buying a pair of Yeezy's (which are ugly, tbh) is different from voting for the office of POTUS.  It is an entirely different calculus.

And I suspect the voices that are loudest on social media (that is, if it's not mostly some Russian troll factory) are the ones least likely to show up to the ballot machines, especially if those lines are long.

The only tweets I've really seen are the ones joking that Kanye's M-I-L Kris Kardashian is likely behind this and also making jokes about what Kim would be like as FLOTUS, taking endless selfies.

Kanye just gave one of the most demented and incoherent interviews to Forbes that I've read next to when Randy Quaid lost his mind. I'm not going to link to it, all I'm going to say is that if anyone thinks that interview and its content is going to move any serious numbers on the left we live in very different worlds. He's a laughingstock online and he needs to be put away.

I read some of it. My stomach churned when I saw people saying he must be right about refusing a vaccine because he knows information we don't. The danger from the media promoting and parading around sick people like Kanye and Trump is incalculable.

I am not seeing anyone saying that because Kanye West said that. Again, the widespread public reaction to him right now is ridicule. His rhetoric is dangerous regardless, yes, but you're always going to find gullible idiots if you go looking. Random outliers do not a trend make, and Kanye is largely regarded as a clown.
