This guy is fuckin scary.  He's said he doesn't believe in sanctions, denies climate change and stands opposed regulatory agencies.  The icing on the cake, he has zero experience.  SoS is a role for a seasoned diplomat, not a rich oil executive.  I mean, what the total [!@#$%^&*] is this??

If there's a plus side to him, looks like he's LGBT friendly (at least a little) and has supported Common Core in the past.

DJT has loaded his cabinet with rich white guys.  I haven't done any comparisons, but this has got to be the whitest administration in what?  50 years?  And most probably the wealthiest one ever.

These people are gonna do a number on this country.  That's fo sho.

Honestly, y'all.  The last few days of news has me feeling more and more hopeless.   Dylann Roof's trial, the Walter Scott mistrial, the Trump transition, the "heartbeat" bill, fake news, Russia, white supremacists.

Its all all so depressing

Usually, yes.

Reports that Trump supporters don't believe or trust the "liberal media" might undo that theory.  Will the MSM will grow a pair when it comes to calling out Trump on his bullshit is another thing that will need to happen.

I just don't know if historical trends will hold with the Orange Menace in the WH.

And the sad thing is if the US does get nuked, it will probably be the end of human life on our planet.  Trump may not know what the nuclear triad is, but his cadre of generals do.  At least most of us in the US (except victims of voter suppression) had some voice in who became president, the rest of the world didn't.

China just referred to Trump as 'ignorant' as a child but these Trumpkins can continue to delude themselves in the belief that Trump will usher in a 'new era of respect for the U.S.'

And come to find out (surprised - NOT) that Trump and that alt-right rag that Bannon hails from, called President Obama out for not getting intelligence briefings (he was).

Trump is a pathological liar, yet he was able to cast Hillary as the dishonest one.  Thanks, MSM.

And another happy report from Trumpville.

What in the total hell are we in for, yall...

I don't know what to say if the stories about the White House actually knowing about Russian intervention in our election back in August working to get Trump elected, told the GOP house and GOP senate leadership, and was told they would make it a partisan issue if it was disclosed this close to an election. If true how could the President allow himself to be blackmailed in this way.

.And how on earth can people like Ryan and McConnell look in the mirror in the morning. If true these are impeachable offenses against not only a sitting president but also the senate and house leadership.

it's entirely possible Putin has honey trapped some members of our government and no doubt incoming cabinet and advisory personnel. It all makes me sick to my stomach to even have doubts.

We saw a few years ago how alluring he is to many in the media and on the right (and on the far left as well) - he's all about image and power and wealth. He's also seemingly willingly to put some of that around. What I don't know if they realize is just how ruthless he is, as some of his friends were later bankrupted by him, if I remember correctly. Really he is the ultimate fantasy symbol for many middle-aged men - he can do whatever he wants to whoever he wants.

Voice of America is now going to just be a propaganda organ.

Meanwhile, McConnell is out having a swank meal with the First Lady:

And an article on just how nutty this McFarland woman is.

@JaneAusten Well, according to what I've read the evidence presented was presented as all circumstancial but has since been shown to be an abundance of circumstancial evidence. Circumstancial evidence, even on its face, has never been easy to make a case for. Perhaps this diminished the White House's ability to take it any further than they did.

The disturbing fact remains that too many voters were willing to dismiss the abundance of lies spewing out of Trump's mouth and hold their nose and vote for him. Many Democrats, for various reasons, wanted/needed a pure, unsullied candidate, they didn't get one and so they voted (or not) in kind.

Just over the weekend, DJT was bragging and thanking the Black voters who stayed at home because to him, it was just as good as voting for him.

Now Black women voted 94% for Hillary but among Black men, Trump got a higher percentage of their votes than Romney, which is still low but surprising, nonetheless- which tells me personally, that patriarchy did indeed have a lot to do with people's choice in the voting booth. Men and Women of all ethnicities can end up promoting patriarchy and sexism. It existed during the Civil Rights movement, the Black Power movement as well as the Anti-War movement, even with all their good intentions.

Had people really gone by the actual evidence, and not been willing to believe lies and prejudices, we'd have an utterly different outcome today.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
