  1. RIP, what an incredible talent and what a career and life lived.
  2. MTS is looking exquisite these days.
  3. I wonder if Genie's guarantees are just very low and they wasted it on a lot of the Heather garbage this year.
  4. BET, like its sister MTV, is basically a wasteland of repeats and marathons of shows at this point.
  5. Like Carly, everyone has to be friends with and love Joss and her self-righteous ass. You can’t have anyone antagonistic with her for too long.
  6. Paramount+ from all media accounts has not been profitable and has been a source of concern for Viacom, so even a moderate success on that platform would be notable.
  7. I guess AMC was a happier personal experience, but she faced the same thing character-wise. Hell, I’d probably go as far to say Ceara was more poorly developed than Diana (despite Agnes Nixon’s involvement).
  8. I hadn’t seen this interview before, not the first time she’s done this, but Genie Francis shades the hell out of DAYS for not giving her a character. She really seemed to hate her experience on DAYS.
  9. It’s impossible to feel any sympathy for Giggly Heffa/SyPhyllis when she goes on her victim act and starts spouting crap about her “rivals” like Sharon, Diane, and Cricket when she’s consistently and intentionally done much worse crap and has never been held accountable for anything for more than 5 seconds. At least Stafford has started to tone it down a little recently, that’s as much as I can say.
  10. I wish she could be a 2024 “dead” character instead. 🙂
  11. Unless there is a complete regime change and people come in who actually care and aren’t afraid to embrace black characters, the status quo on this show will never change.
  12. They also have a park set that they’ve used, so it’s random as f.uck when they use CGI. It’s clearly to save money and time, but they use it so randomly that it’s even more jarring as hell. They could afford a new Newman ranch set and a car crash explosion last week, but can’t bring out the park set they’ve used for this? But, otherwise, the production has vastly improved since Ed Scott came back. The CGI looked even worse before.
  13. Oddly, Sam was probably at her most interesting and dynamic during the summer of sleaze. She could have worked as a venomous, give no f.ucks vixen, but they had no interest in keeping that up and it was back to years of JaSam after that.
  14. Tomorrow’s US episode makes me want to stop watching again (and I probably will soon). I just can’t deal with Giggly Heffa’s sainted victim routine as if she hasn’t done sh!t worse or as bad as what she’s accusing Sharon of.
  15. Abby never acknowledges it was Brad Carlton, not Victor, that raised her dumb ass either.
  16. And Rylan read a lot older in the role too - when the naked heiress stuff was going on, she looked damn near 35 doing that sh!t.
  17. More recently, thank god for Ed Scott coming back to Y&R and refreshing the overall production. The lighting, directing, acting, and general aesthetics of the show have gotten so much better since he's been credited as Senior Producer for the past 2 weeks. Production-wise, it's almost night and day.
  18. Robert Calhoun for centering both ATWT and GL during his tenures at each show and for realizing that there was nothing wrong with "going back to basics."
  19. If only Griffith was gone too so Ed Scott’s lavish production values could pay off decently told/written stories. Also, it feels like Owen Renfroe and Sally McDonald (the best directors on the show and two of the best on daytime) are directing every episode now, with an occasional one from Nancy Ortenberg. It looks like Eilbaum and Williford are out - Williford, of course, is directing one of the first batches of episodes for Beyond The Gates. Assuming they will need to fill this void - as great as they are, Renfroe and McDonald can’t direct everything, lol
  20. Yeah, I mean, you don’t hire Tamara Tunie to pour coffee and listen to other people’s problems. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but TT is still an active woman who can carry a lot more and it seems like Anita is going to be a very active character.
  21. Yeah, my feeling is Anita will have a lot of agency and will be right in the middle of things. She won’t be pouring coffee and be the talk-to for every character, lol
  22. I don't know, I see Anita as more of a Stephanie Forrester-type matriarch personally, lol
  23. Young And Restless Exclusive: Josh Griffith On Sharon, Nick, Phyllis, Ian And Jordan!
  24. McKinsey left when Curlee was on maternity leave in 1992. McKinsey herself said Curlee wrote the character better than the team who were writing while she was on maternity leave: https://iriswheeler.tripod.com/tvguide19920811.html ---------- Logan: Word is you've been unhappy with the unsympathetic turn Alexandra has taken. McKinsey: I was very unhappy. What they've done with Alexandra during the last six months is close to assassination but I would have continued to play it if I'd been happy. That was not the straw that broke this camel's back. I've been doing daytime 22 years now. When you do it as long as I have, you go through a lot of periods where you don't like what they're writing for the characters. Or you don't like the person you're playing opposite. Or something, there's always something. But you're able to keep going for various reasons: One, you need the money and, two, you like the people you're working with, the family feeling you have there. But when you get tired, when you find that you just don't have a minute in the week that you can do anything but that show, then those things get bigger. When you're spending 12 or 13 hours a day there, those things suddenly get huge. When you're tired, you can't get past the other problems. But this should be no secret to anybody. In 1978, I told Procter & Gamble, 'I can put up with a lot. Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad working conditions. But when I'm tired, I get angry. And when I get angry, you don't want me around.' I'm very professional. I behave really well. And I always do my work really well. But when I get tired and angry, I begin to behave in a way that is not me. I'm not proud of it and it shocks people. I was that tired when we started Texas because Another World had done that to me. Logan: Quitting was the only solution? McKinsey: (Getting a little testy) I'm burnt out and the only solution to that is to stop -- and stop immediately. It's like trying to doctor a major wound with a bandaid. If they had said, 'Well, [McKinsey's favorite head writer] Nancy Curlee is coming back and that'll put Alexandra back to where she used to be,' that would have been wonderful but that wouldn't have fixed it. -----
  25. Sharon and Daniel should bang and have hate sex, just to make Giggly Heffa's head explode when she wakes up. It would also be karma for Giggly Heffa for banging her husband when her daughter died.
