  1. This was directed by Owen Renfroe - when you see his name in the credits, or Sally McDonald's, you know the episodes will be interesting and visually appealing from a directing standpoint. Shots like this were also a hallmark of classic Y&R, so likely some input from Ed Scott (who is in the booth with the directors a lot) as well
  2. Yep, and actually, P&G does that for a lot of their employees and associates in general.
  3. Sally McDonald and Owen Renfroe both directed 2 episodes each this week - they’re the best directors on the show and it shows in the finished products.
  4. Yeah, the car crash was well staged. Great directing by Owen Renfroe and Ed Scott for production. Had this been produced before Scott rejoined, we would have probably seen a quick flash of Phyllis going off the road and then cut to the next scene of her in a hospital bed.
  5. I wonder if this is code for the show wanting to recast with a stronger actress and make Abby more of a prominent role. Hmmm - but I also guess someone had to be sacrificed for the new Newman Ranch set, lol
  6. If only the red menace was truly killed…
  7. New costume designer confirms her work is not yet on-screen. She posted a pic in her IG stories of Abby in her wedding dress. I’m guessing Ed Scott has been hands-on with the wardrobe department and had a hand in selecting a new Costume Designer when the last one wasn’t up to par, lol Looks like her first credited episode as Costume Designer is on 11/18 (next Monday). https://www.instagram.com/p/DCTOjDLxqwW/?igsh=a2RjZ2RoM254MXo3
  8. We should absolutely blame MAB and Co. for chasing Jess off the show and marginalizing Jill. Jess has even said as much herself - she was ready to retire in 2012 after her contract expired, and she didn’t get the sense MAB and Co. had much value for Jill. MAB didn’t even try to keep her either or promise her a story either. When MAB was canned that year, it was JFP (who Jess liked a lot) who reached back out to Jess and asked her to come back - Jess agreed, but only on recurring as she had already packed up her life with her late husband and moved to Oregon. Her status has been the same ever since.
  9. JW has made it clear her life is in Oregon now; she’ll only agree to recurring. I think that’s been part of the struggle to continue to write for her. We’re honestly lucky they haven’t killed Jill off, or erased her existence completely, lol
  10. Today’s exchange between Liz and Lucky regarding Aidan is exactly why I don’t want to see them as a couple again and why things are just too far gone in that relationship.
  11. Getting major Stephanie Forrester vibes from Anita’s aesthetic (barring the metallic color palette).
  12. I'm also sure they'll be a holiday break or some other breaks in between then, so it may not necessarily net out to 3 months in advance.
  13. That's almost March, lol, but glad we have confirmation! What is CBS filling that timeslot with in between The Talk and BTG?
  14. David Zyla is still listed as the Costume Designer in today’s episode, so Mandi is not yet credited.
  15. I would say Kristina is completely useless right now, but then, what character isn’t on this show right now?
  16. Finn also seems like more of a Mark Teschner hire than an FV one. I noticed Teschner cheering him on and commenting on his IG post last week.
  17. The stories still suck, but it does go to show that the way they’re produced and executed on-screen can make them slightly more palatable. That won’t last forever, so they really need to get rid of Griffith or Sony needs to give her another project to focus on, lol.
  18. I think the new costume designer’s work doesn’t debut until this week. She wasn’t credited last week.
  19. Gina’s was also destroyed to make way for the GCAC.
  20. I think I was on the verge of vomiting when Josh Griffith came to speak. I get the feeling he wrote this speech 5 minutes before his name was called - probably similar to how he writes his boring and incoherent “stories” actually.
  21. It’s pathetic that at the age of 73, MVJ is becoming the first black creator of a network soap opera. Given how much of the daytime audience over-indexes for African American viewership, this is a very long time coming. But I am happy for her that at what’s likely the last stage of her career, MVJ gets to solidify her daytime legacy in this way.
  22. The lighting has definitely been adjusted, I think we’ll see more of that next week.
