  1. Michael Park stayed working and has definitely carved out a successful career for himself post-daytime. Unless he’s hired be the lead patriarch of a completely new daytime soap (ala Tamara Tunie), it’s best he stay away from daytime and keep the momentum his acting career has in other vehicles.
  2. I hope Tracy finds some loophole to banish Drew from that family forever. As a side note, we need to pass a law that Jane Elliott must live forever. I am more grateful than ever she’s returned full time and is the last real vestige of that family.
  3. We probably knew this was coming, but it’s still sad. May she RIP.
  4. Kenan Thompson’s lifetime employment more than implies that’s the case!
  5. Maybe she didn’t take a maternity leave, but I’d be happy if Mattsson took a permanent leave.
  6. The end credits montage for the clink boom episode has ended up being more effective to me, and you don’t actually see the damn explosion! I guess I just like the shot of Brenda longingly staring off into the horizon before the glasses clink.
  7. Frank Valentini just makes everything looks so cheap and half-assed. That montage wouldn’t have happened that way under JFP or Wendy Riche/Shelley Curtis.
  8. 2025 SAG Nominations
  9. He’s basically been the acting Casting Director since Nancy Nayor left anyway. They never replaced her until this promotion. I wonder who they’ll hire to be his Casting Associate.
  10. I think when Jill had a great a strong HW, like Nancy Curlee, she could produce great material. But when she had weaker HWs with no vision (or with just a bad vision), her worst tendencies came into play and dominated.
  11. B&B losing Jeresa Featherstone as Costume Designer is a gift to BTG. That woman knows what she’s doing and the wardrobe at B&B has taken a noticeable decline since she left.
  12. I’m happy for Sebastian Stan as well - he’s in the Marvel bubble, but he’s not afraid to take risks and challenge himself in his work outside of that. He’s more than just a pretty face and it’s nice to see some recognition. That said, SAG and BAFTA are the only precursors that matter. The Golden Globes have always been more of a popularity contest, though they definitely did throw some surprises this year.
  13. There was a lot of emotion in those scenes (for various reasons), it wouldn’t surprise me if the wonderful Ellen Parker didn’t follow the script word for word.
  14. I think BW was just one of Shelley Curtis’s friends at DAYS in the 80’s that she helped bring over to GH in the 90’s, lol
  15. Courtney Simon wrote the script to that episode.
  16. On soaps today, I’ll add Susan Walters. Strangely, I don’t think I ever really accepted her as Diane on Y&R in her first stint as I was an Alex Donnelly fan, but she has a totally new vibrancy in the role this time around and I think she’s better than Maura West was in this role. She add nuanced touches to her performances and never goes over the top or tries to be “showy.”
  17. Honestly, I thought MW was so miscast as Diane that it gave me a renewed appreciation for SW in the role - you can debate who the better actress is overall, but SW has a better aura/presence in that role and better chemistry with her main costars than MW did as Diane. That said, MAB hated being forced to hire MW, and it showed. She should have given her a totally different character to begin with, but regardless, it wasn’t ever going to go well for MW on that show.
  18. Yes, and I think we also need to temper our expectations a bit at the start. Historically, the first year of a new daily serial can be a bit uneven, and shows need some time to really find their groove and gel. Yes, I know attention spans are less these days, but this is always going to be a reality IMO.
  19. Yes, even in her takedown of Roger, she never went for over the top dramatics or histrionics. Very rare jewel Bev was. This scene between her and Zimmer is also great to revisit, just what contrasting but equally compelling actresses both are:
  20. I remember at the time of the Nursery Rhyme Stalker storyline she gave some hilarious interviews about it and how she approached it. You can tell she cared very much about being grounded despite the ridiculous nature of what she was given, and had a sense of humor about it and didn’t allow herself to take it too seriously just be seen as a “serious actress.” Also, I can’t forge Maeve Kinkead whose quiet strength always spoke loudly.
  21. I think Maureen Garrett and Kathryn Hays own this topic.
  22. I like Alexa, but Lulu is annoying me right now and it’s purely this Charlotte story. I just wish Charlotte never existed.
  23. The writing for Lulu in this horrible Charlotte story makes her so grating and unlikable. I wish Charlotte would just get caught in some crossfire and die already.
  24. Glad that Ducksworth clarified that it's Vivica A. Fox that first linked her together with Michele Val Jean, and not Jamey Giddens...
  25. Ross has returned for short stints before. Unless they plan to reunite Grant and Sharon (Grant has always maintained Sharon is his great love) and send them off for good, I don’t really see much use tbh. 😑 But I’m not watching the current incarnation of the show, so no idea what his [short] return would really add to.
