  1. It was largely DC/WB’s own fault as to why the Superman IP was devalued and the character lost relevance with a whole generation of consumers. Even in the comics, which no one buys anymore, a Batman title is almost always guaranteed to sell and top the sales charts, but Superman hasn’t had a successful comic run in like over a decade. That’s in contrast to Marvel where their marquee Spider-Man, X-Men, and Avengers titles remain consistent enough sellers and have never fallen as drastically. This is a start of a new cinematic universe for DC, a lot is riding on getting this right and not only resuscitating this character to masses, but their entire canon outside of Batman.
  2. It’s a reference to the sitcom (Half & Half) they were both on:
  3. Here’s the official trailer:
  4. The fact Universal keeps trying to ape it must speak to the enduring popularity and global appeal and popularity of MSW. It doesn’t mean they should, but it’s flattering in a way, lol.
  5. Honestly, if you were tuning into GH for the first time, you’d probably think Lulu and Tracy were actual mother/daughter based on their interaction and chemistry.
  6. Horrible idea, and bless JLC, but she’s so wrong for this.
  7. I felt more emotion and connection in Lulu’s reunion with Tracy than I did with her reunions with Laura and Lucky.
  8. It’s very vague, which I think is intentional. I think things should hopefully look more polished closer to the premiere.
  9. Very unique production design for daytime and looks like an elevation of what The City tried to do almost 30 years ago (one of the only strong things about that soap). I still stand by Anita being more so in the Stephanie Forrester tradition of matriarchy.
  10. I wish they wouldn’t mention her at all. FV really needs to get off the mentality that it’s GH’s responsibility to let the cancel ABC soaps live on vicariously. It’s not and comes off as hokey when they do things like this.
  11. SMG was on Live with Kelly and Mark yesterday:
  12. Apparently, Gail Kobe was very involved in B&B's initial casting with Bell filling in the blanks for the rest with people he had worked with before. I agree that Stephanie evolved around Flannery's presence and credibility more than anything else. Nothing against the other actresses, but I can't really imagine them in that role.
  13. Jane also says she was originally slated to play Stephanie Forrester on B&B before Susan Flannery agreed and they let her go before production started. Stephanie is interesting because Bell apparently created her with Susan Seaforth Hayes in mind, but when she was asked, she was on a family vacation and couldn't accept in time.
  14. I think TA has probably given up knowing that this show will never really invest or write intelligently for her character.
  15. The break from Carly was one of the better things that happened to Lulu. This scene with Tracy will never not be great - makes me miss the hell out of Guza’s scriptwriting team.
  16. Koch had the heavier role and was the emotional lynchpin of the production, so not surprised either. NAC is already getting what he likely set out to get - mainstream press/photoshoots and movie roles.
  17. Except here you get someone who has been tanking his own show for decades!
  18. I see Michelle Ryan is a lot more complementary and nostalgic about the show than she's ever been. I'm not watching the show anymore, but are they hinting at a return for Zoe at all? I feel old knowing that next year will be the 25th anniversary of the Slater's. Thanks to internet chatter heating up at that time and BBC America airing the show back then, that was my first time following the show in near real-time given the PBS delay.
  19. I’m surprised she never really landed anywhere else. BB was very talented in an otherwise thankless role that did go on for too long. ETA - I never watched the CW Dynasty remake she was on, and doubt I’ll ever check it out.
