Strangely, no writing/producing/directing credits were posted on today’s US episode. I’ll just credit Ed Scott for everything good, lol, since it was a standalone focused on one set and set of characters. I also noticed that the lighting has been adjusted and gotten a bit darker/richer again. That makes the show look so much better. Again, kudos to Ed Scott for that.- 2024: The Directors and Writers Thread
Unless I’m blind, I didn’t see any writing/directing/producing credits listed on today’s Y&R episode. I’ll check the CBS site later when the episode is uploaded, but neither the CBS nor the Global linear airings had any of these credits.- Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
@Faulkner - I’d check out today’s US episode just because it’s a bit of a standalone and not focused on moving any of Griffth’s boring stories along. That, and the flashbacks, classic music cues, new Newman Ranch set reveal, etc. You can definitely see why they needed Ed Scott back to help lead production.- Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
Also, I want to revisit what the hell is really going on with this show's classic library of music. Friday's US episode is basically all classic cues, and there's instances where they'll dig some of classic stuff up from time to time. We've heard all that stuff about Sony selling off the show's original music, but it doesn't look like that's the full story or a 100% true thing. I also seriously doubt they have the budget to keep paying for music they used to own but have since sold away.- Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
Her name is Mandy Line, but she's not made it into the credits yet. Outgoing Costume Designer, David Zyla, is still credited. Perhaps Mandy shows up in the credits next week in time for the 13K episode? Yes, Renfroe is a FOJ that stuck around Y&R and has proven himself with both the cast and crew there (I've heard he's very beloved). His work is very artistic/cinematic, and like I said, you can always tell when either he or Sally McDonald are directing. His work on GH was also quite stellar as he did a lot of key episodes during Guza's various sweeps stunts storylines.- The Politics Thread
That’s strange, it was posted only today too. They basically went into an ethnically-diverse and lower-income community in the Bronx (a historically Democratic stronghold). Trump apparently did a lot of outreach there and had significant voting gains there vs. the previous elections. Anyway, most people said Trump spoke about the issues they cared about (economy, inflation, illegal migration). That, and coupled with him visiting the area/doing outreach there was enough for them to switch and vote for him. It’s fascinating how these people that Trump likely has no regard for in reality were so willing to switch party lines and vote for him in this election.- The Politics Thread
Interesting local NY News reporting:- Y&R: November 2024 Spoilers
Tomorrow’s US episode is must watch, not just for the reveal of the new Newman Ranch set, but because of all the classic Nikki/Victor flashbacks, classic music cues that are used, and the opulent production and directing. You can clearly see the difference and why they needed Ed Scott back to handle production.- Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
I think some of the recent music selection (well from this week) has been in the style of the old music in some scenes, but not quite it. Tomorrow’s US episode actually uses a lot of the classic cues, and not just for flashbacks.- Y&R: Official YouTube Channel Launched
Tomorrow’s US episode is filled with old Nikki/Victor flashbacks and classic music cues for those of you interested.- Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
No spoilers, but tomorrow’s US episode is a treat for the production values, directing, music, and flashbacks used. You can see why they needed Ed Scott back to handle production…- GH: November 2024 Discussion Thread

Democrats should be starting now on what the strategy is for laying the groundwork for the 2026 midterms. They have to start with figuring out what went wrong with Gen Z, and working class Hispanic and African American males voters. In fact, the working class in general. Can they win them back or will their margins continue to recede?- The Politics Thread

I also think it's the Director of the episode. Owen Renfroe directed today's US episode and he's known for incorporating a lot of cinematic shots and angles. You'll always notice the directing with him, and with Sally McDonald (the last Bell-era remaining member on staff). I do think Ed Scott has been very hands with the directing though as some angles for sets like the Abbot mansion, and GCAC changed starting with his first episode back.- The Lady Gaga Thread

Very much so - the only thing I can glean is that racism and sexism run deep, despite of political party affiliation. Many Democrats would rather see Trump elected than support a Black woman running for presidency.- Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
It’s super annoying having Phyllis run around town like the avenging angel as if she hasn’t done sh!t that’s just as bad. I don’t think Sharon actually killed Heather (but she is guilty of moving and disposing the body, I suppose), but they do actually need to stop treading water and move this “story” to the next level already.- The Politics Thread
The demographic groups that propelled Trump to presidency- The Politics Thread
We lost, but it's time to look forward to the next midterms and how we can mitigate some of this sh!t, and empower better voter participation from the party so we don't find ourselves always losing ground. This needs to inspire some serious reckoning within the Democratic party and what the plan is to counter this MAGA domination and lay the groundwork for 2028.- The Politics Thread
Trump aside, this was a damning condemnation for the Democratic party by not just the MAGA contingent, but also within its own party, and casuals who have no strong political affiliation at all. Now Trump has: A Senate majority A House majority A Supreme Court made in his vision This is a disaster and it will have detrimental ramifications for generations to come. The biggest question for me is where does the Democratic party go from here? Who is the future of the Democratic party that has a legitimate chance in 4 years? How can they successfully reinvent their image and galvanize voters to come out in both the next mid-terms and the next presidential election? Democrats only seem to come out in waves to make a difference for their party's candidate when it's a massive rebuttal to something (Bush-era politics, Trump's first term, etc.). I guess they have the next Trump term to galvanize and empower their base to come out and make a difference. But make no mistake, tonight was a crushing defeat for that party from all sides.- The Politics Thread
Democrats needed to come out in droves to mitigate this, but they didn’t. Even in Democrat strongholds, Trump often outperformed his standings from 2016 and 2020, while margins for Democrat were down. Not only has he won the electoral college, this is the first time he’s actually won the popular vote too. Infuriating.- The Politics Thread
It’s revolting that Trump will also have a GOP controlled House and Senate once again in his hands. This election was a travesty, and history is repeating itself in the absolute worst way possible. - Y&R: November 2024 Discussion Board
