In the past I've gotten the chance to see archived performances of Joseph Papp's Shakespeare productions and I'm hoping that I will get the opportunity to see an archived copy of this particular production.

Interesting how quick the cuts are between scenes in that episode. Those were some skilled editors. Having edited film and video on analog equipment, I can say that, unless you really know what you're doing, it can be an arduous task and a slow-going one. And at the rate these scenes were shot, edits had to be done at a pretty brisk pace. Today's soaps don't even do this and they have the advantage of using digital equipment, far easier to maneuver.
