  1. You're welcome 🙂. I don't think any other channel on YouTube put up an original upload of this episode.
  2. The scene is in this episode, which I wish were better video quality. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4OXGaue5zhru43ZP4Q4SR7_DGuR3wk5Q
  3. With the Stormy Daniels scandal barely in the rear-view you would think they would choose a different figure other than $130K. They're not too bright.
  4. So, how's Trump's scam PAC going? Did he fleece enough cultists to clear up his debts?
  5. It would be interesting to find out who Michael Louden screen tested with, sadly he is no longer around to answer that question but maybe someone else can. Back then, I am not sure if there was an actual "conscious coupling" of characters. From what I read of ATWT at that time, characters were written to interactbwith a bevy of other characters, leaving plenty of room for surprises in terms of who sparked. In terms of Lily and Duke, I think it was more a function of Duke and Lily being in the same age group. Meg pretty much referred to Lily in the same derisive manner, except Duke, characteristic of his personality, was prone to making taunts, while Meg was prone to spite. By the standard of today's soaps though, Duke and Lily would've been on the courtship fast-track to engagement.
  6. The number of people who seem to be rejoicing in the fact that this vaccine was not developed in the U.S. tells you all you need to know about the U.S.' standing in the world.
  7. Sigh. Are folks going on substantiated proof, or nah? The last time I checked, I thought that, if we're talking court challenges (as opposed to a presidential appointee, like a Supreme Court Judicial pick), isn't the burden of proof on the party that brings the allegation? The Trump team has already had a few of their legal challenges tossed out (nothing new for them since they have been losing court challenges since the day Trump took office in 2017). In terms of throwing out votes, this isn't about hanging Chads, these votes were cast, received, accepted and counted. In 2000, only one network had unofficially called the race, while all, even Fox News channel have called it...on Saturday! Today is Tuesday. No offense, but some of you hang out on too many right-wing forums and it shows. Not to sound rude but if you're going to try to stress folks out, at least stress them out over something worth stressing by out over.
  8. So, this is right on track with the Jim Jones comparisons I've been making for years then.
  9. Her former T.V. son recently mentioned that Sward has been instrumental in bringing more film production to the state of Utah.
  10. Although I must admit that I personally don't hate AOC, I do think that the enmity comes from the fact that she and the Justice Democrats insist on primary-ing members of their own party, in other words, other Democrats, which many see as shooting oneself in the proverbial foot, aka, "friendly fire". AOC's primary victory over an incumbent years ago, not withstanding, many of the insurgent candidates backed by the Justice Democrats in the NYC area challenged other Democrats who were also Black and viewed as being highly effective within their respective communities. It has been seen as an affront encouraged by other Justice Democrats, but namely her, as she is the most visible member. Also, for all her starpower, she is seen by many as not being nearly as effective in her job as a Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, who was elected at the same time but with little fanfare, has actually managed to successfully write and/or co-sign successful legislation.
  11. Lots of coming and goings in '89. Craig and Lily had such an easy going rapport. Such a shame it was destroyed in the end. Seems quite clear that the set up for Beau and Nella to leave is in the making. Whoa, at the way Ellie describes her feelings for Brock! Iva says she used to feel the same about Tad Channing, which is a good use of storyline history. I had to go giggle though because by the time Channing landed in Oakdale, Iva basically couldn't stand his guts.
  12. Why is the Lincoln Project trying to siphon off money that should be going directly to these campaigns? Ossoff and Warnock's campaigns, I meant.
  13. Peru, which has had quite the history of corruption, doesn't appear to be playing around this time.
  14. Team Trump seems to be going down, one by one.
  15. When one of the most American of companies is doing this, you know the rest of the U.S. auto industry is just waiting for a change in the White House to do the same. Ominous sign for the Trump legal team?
  16. So that was exactly what I was thinking.
  17. In the reunions, Hillary Bailey Smith, Gregg Marx and Scott Bryce all said that Marland offered to either hold their storylines in place, so that they didn't have to decide right away whether they wanted to return. I think Scott was really the only one who took him up on the offer. Gregg admitted that it was a rare offer that he didn't appreciate at the time, especially since "Tom" was held in place for almost, what a year, before the character was recast? Martha, Michael Swan and Margaret Reed also had nice things to say about Marland. Most of the actors mentioned having been to his home and seeing that he had photos of all the actors framed and mounted. I think HBS specifically pointed the photos anecdote
  18. One aspect that I have definitely gotten out of these reunions is that it appeared that keeping his actors happy was just as important to Marland as servicing the storylines. It's an admirable way to work, though, personally when I have worked with actors, facilitating the story has always come first.
  19. I really hope there will be a rise in power. For too long there has been endless doubters and naysaying in terms of Black women's ability to take leadership positions. I recently had a conversation with an exasperated friend who complained of having to train someone who will, no doubt, leap over her to a higher position. This woman assumed that my friend is younger. Not only is this not the case but my friend is far more credentialed than this person. Many of us can relate to someone assuming we're younger because why else would someone be held in place? I would love if people would ask Stacey Abrams what she needs to do the work that she has been doing for the last three years at a more efficient pace and just get out of her way.
  20. FWIW, most soap operas wrote their male characters as being pretty self-righteous, especially when it came to their romantic relationships with the women in their lives. Unless the men themselves were diabolical, having the man being the "sober" one in the relationship seemed to be a soap staple. This is why early Kirk and Iva was so interesting. I don't care what soap you're talking about, unless it was a Bonnie and Clyde scenario (in which one or both are sure to be brought down and off the canvas), you rarely, if ever had a viable, equally scheming couple. Not going to happen on daytime soaps. If they are, they're sure to get killed off.
  21. This made me smile. ext_tw_video.mp4
  22. Racism in the soaps is not just what you see on screen, it is also what happens, or fails to happen behind the scenes. Reading that very little seems to have changed behind the scenes, in terms of production and executive positions, I really couldn't give any of these shows even a passing grade in terms of how they function. I am seeing some generous grades but after 30, 40 years, I think it's time to stop grading on a curve.
