Sorry but I don't own an iPad and don't intend to buy one. By the time I replace my laptop (it will be an investment as it is a design laptop and I have a specific brand/make in mind, which is unfortunately expensive but, at least upgradeable, which is important to me). By then, I am sure the "free" Y&R episodes will be under CBS All Access lock and key. Oh well, Thanks anyway.

Somehow I doubt we will ever know the real story behind why "Lily" has never had a Black love interest, but I will say this:-- it is quite unusual that a character who has been on the canvas as long as Lily has never had a love interest with any man of color. Most of the other characters in her cohort, past and present, have either had close relationships with Black men or romantic partnerships. Ashley Abbott has had two romantic pairings with men of color, for crying out loud. The funny thing is that if CK has/had truly made this stipulation, it would be little wonder why she could not get primetime work--producers, showrunners, not even writers would not want to work with an actress who made such a demand, she would be seen as difficult to work with, career suicide (and word would get around). I don't think CK is that dumb, do you? Still, perhaps there may be something in her demeanor that sends the message that she prefers White guys. In any case, I thought she had chemistry with RW that could have blossomed, given the chance, but we all know what became of that. Very odd, that a ssupposedly serious actor would want to limit themselves in that way, if this is the case. No wonder Abby gets more prominent storylines.

Does anybody have a link to where I can watch the past two episodes? I don't subscribe to CBS All Access and CBS.com stinks (especially on mobile). Sadly, my old links have faded and I am in search of a new one. Thanks.

Lest we forget- If Victoria Rowell's "Dru" were still on the scene in Genoa City, this figure of speech would definitely have already been said, probably directed at Phyllis.

That sounds like a reasonable question. Only having seen one episode in months, I can only think of the dreaded and overused triangle, unfortunately. Speaking of which, have Chance and Chloe interacted at all since Chance has been back on the canvas? Perhaps only a friendship between Chance and Chloe would be enough to play on any deep-seated insecurities that Abby might have, which could cause some conflict. The only other things that come to mind are that Abby's business falls into crisis and absorbs her time and energy or if Chance has a health relapse of some sort. I'd probably have to actually watch the show to come up with something better.- Y&R December 2020 Discussion Thread
But Amanda is a whole different character than Hilary, is the only issue. Amanda is straight-laced and Hilary was more of a feather ruffler, who reveled in controversy. I liked the idea of them as pot-stirrers, with Hilary on her platform juicing the enmity between Victor and Leanna to gin up ratings for GC Buzz. I'm not sure what storyline they could do with Amanda that wouldn't seemed completely contrived.- Y&R December 2020 Discussion Thread
It would've been juicy had they brought back Leanna Love for the Victor stuff or when Hilary was still alive and doing GC Buzz ( for once, providing a useful platform for that set). I think Barbara Crampton's Leanna conspiring with Mishael Morgan as Hilary would've been a lot of fun. The idea of a new reissue of Ruthless with updated epilogue would've fit right onto the story and added intrigue.- The Politics Thread
I briefly saw that headline too, yesterday. Just wild! People are really out here having orgies during a pandemic! And that's not even getting into the stringent homophobic laws countries like Hungary, Poland and Russia have been instituting for the past few years. It's actually the least shocking aspect of all that one of the most ardent backers of this policy are themselves closeted. The window jump is pretty funny though.- Y&R December 2020 Discussion Thread
I like the way you think, @slick jones with Y&R hitting such auspicious milestones, a compendium book would be a great idea on and off-screen. I am still disappointed that the show did nothing with the anniversary of the Ruthless book, they could've tied that into Victor's book and Eric's anniversary on the show. I caught a glimpse of an episode and I will say that Tricia and Jess are such pros with a high degree of talent and integrity in their work ethic that they can really do great work, regardless of the circumstances. The dialogue in the scenes between Jack and Jill wasn't great (kind of stilted) but Jess finessed it anyway, and looked great doing it. The fact that Tricia Cast can practically parachute in and have such genuine Mother-Son chemistry with her on-screen son speaks to how good Cast is. I saw very little of the previous/current contracted "Chance" but he struck me as nothing special. This current on-screen temp seems like a great fit for "Abby". Husbands and Wives don't always work well together, so this is auspicious for the show, which should bring him back, sooner rather than later. Is MO one of the strongest actresses in daytime television? No. Is she problematic? No. She also has decent chemistry with a number of other actors on the show, so I see no reason for her to go. Keeping her around though, should mean investing in a worthwhile pairing, especially if the writers are not going to bother to write a compelling story for the character on her own. Also, count me in among the people who find the Phyllis/Nick scenes weirdly out of place. I know this was supposed to be some kind of B story but it seemed like filler going nowhere fast, at best. And Michelle is back to her giggly acting ticks-- reminded me of the poster (can't recall who though) who referred to her as "Giggly Heffa".๐คฃ- Guiding Light Discussion Thread
I wish I could migrate this quote the ATWT thread because I definitely believe a similar dynamic occurred with the Franklin and Griffin families on ATWT. In later years, there was the appearance of what I refer to as "half-families" like Ben and Isaac, the appearance of Camille's mother but not a full set of family members. Really unfortunate.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Even further back, judging by what's on YT, the introduction and exit of several Black characters are missing. You hardly see any of the Franklin family. You see Meg and Pam as friends but it was Meg and Nella who actually went through the nursing program together and became good friends but all of those episodes are absent from YouTube. Yes, you can probably fill in some of what's missing but there is just a lot of detail missing and some of it gives a lot of color and shape to the storytelling. Marland, for all his perceived faults was really the first HW that seemed to care enough to at least, try to create a viable Black family that was on par (at least representationally) with other families in Oakdale. I don't know what really happened with the Franklin, but he did seem to try it again with the Griffin family, although they were transplants, unlike the Franklin's who seemed to be Oakdale native-born. Nella and Kiera were the only Black teens on the canvas that I remember.- The Politics Thread

A lot of episodes and quite a few storylines are incomplete and/or missing from YT, even from Marland's HW tenure. Unfortunately, this gives a skewed impression of what characters and what storylines were out there and viable.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread

I understand that feeling completely, @Vee It's just in my case, I've worn out so many of the episodes already up on YT, that I wished there were more never before episodes uploaded, but perhaps folks are skittish, given the rush to shut down never before uploaded content (something I'll never, for the life of me understand). Hughes holidays gatherings always gave me such comfort (and yes, joy) at this time of year, or any time when I was in particular need of a diversion. Gosh, I'd even take a spooky or disastrous Shannon O'Hara holiday party about now (one that I haven't seen in years). I was discussing this with someone recently in another thread, but I would love it if someone shared episodes of the different costume balls on this show, particularly those during the lavish 1980s when very little expense was spared, and every celebration specialized in being Over The Top. It was just fun. Man, if only ATWT had an online vault like a few of the other soaps do...!- The Politics Thread

Is there a website that shows how many states have already certified their election results?- NETFLIX: The Crown
I have yet to see the new season, so I am scrolling and skipping past all discussions but I saw this AP article, which made me halfway roll my eyes and halfway chuckle at the complaints regarding the portrayal of the royals. I would think that the very fact that the show is using actors and not relying on newsreel footage would tell people that this is not a documentary. And the Churchill biographer had a point in that, nobody was complaining when the portrayals were more sympathetic or flattering, though there were clearly fictionalized scenes and characters.- Netflix: One Day at a Time
Did that animated show Bertie and Tucan have a better deal with Netflix than ODAAT why they were able to go to Warner Media after being cancelled on Netflix? I think I read about a few show creatives who turned down Netflix for HBO Max, Hulu, etc. I wonder if Netflix's treatment of ODAAT could've been a factor. I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps Unimas or some Network aimed at a young/progressive audience would be receptive. I am not sure if the show could retain all of their viewers but at least the show would continue to lose momentum and the show would have a home until the Netflix deal expires.- The Politics Thread
