  1. Sometimes I wish I weren't so well informed but as a News Junkie, I can't help it. I appreciate your post @Taoboi. On another note, Channel4 has uploaded their news piece to their Youtube page. 2. Any channels owned by Sinclair Broadcast media is a hard pass for me. Perhaps I'll check scores and clips to keep up but I can't support any media entity that traffics. in right-wing propaganda and makes their news anchors read on-air oaths.
  3. For those who have yet to read the article, here it is sans paywall.
  4. Apparently, she received no money...she volunteered. She didn't even get her 30 pieces of silver.
  5. From what I understand, tournament directors tailor court assignments more for ticket buyers than for television viewers. RG hasn't been as much of a priority on American television since leaving network. The FFT likely gets more money from its own country than it does from the U.S. which has a somewhat diminished presence these days compared to what it used to be. Regional Fox Sports network doesn't have the type of influence 💰that NBC once did. Eurosport likely has more influence than Fox Sports now and French players are still exceedingly popular, even Chardy, lol, whose wedding and baby's birth photos were all over European sports news blogs.
  6. From their perspective, the spectators who show up will likely be local people, due to travel restrictions, so I can't really quibble about that. RG is clearly trying to cater to the French spectators whose butts will be in the seats. Also, the French, perhaps more than any other nation, truly have a strong affinity for their hometown players. Personally, I don't know how much of my attention this tournament will get. The U.S. Open got a fraction of my attention, compared to what it usually gets. Osaka's masked march to the title was one of the only aspects that held my attention.
  7. People are asking to hear more from her, certainly more than what a thirty second clip will provide. I'm not sure how much touring she was doing before COVID-19, tbh since she seemed to be in far less demand than even her brother BeBe.
  8. Cece claims it's not political.
  9. CeCe Woman's better hope that white evangelicals will buy her music because Shirley Caesar and Yolanda Adams will be getting all her future gigs.
  10. You know, I had never seen this show? I watched very little T.V. during most of the 90s. I finally watched a few episodes and this show is a hoot! I'm enjoying it. I do have this unsettling feeling, though that someone at ATWT (*coughs* Goutman) may have looked at Scott Bryce's Malibu Road character and decided that this was how they wanted Craig to be about seven, eight years later.😳😟
  11. Not only that but there are different balls for men and different balls for women. If you think about the four Grand Slams alone, each has a different climate, three of four have different surfaces, the balls shouldn't be exactly the same. One of mt biggest concerns and pet peeves is the deliberate slowing of the courts over the last decade-- that and the balls has caused an alarm number of seemingly chronic injuries, and the elbow seems to be chief among these injuries in recent years.
  12. It's probably in the ATWT thread but I posted that these guys need to produce their shows and get a good host.
  13. The tournament doctor's explanation. My question is: Is it a certainty that he is not contagious at this time?
  14. Cannot say that I am surprised but certainly disgusted at the predictability of the systems in this country. It's also such a drain on one's existence.
  15. Shadow and Act, the Black entertainment blog named a list actresses that they believe to be underrated and deserve "their flowers" and Debbie Morgan and Tamara Tunie are both on the list.
  16. Yeah, I wasn't sure, that's why I specifically said ATWT, not P&G in that initial post because I haven't seen many of the GL ones.
  17. He had 1 actress on one of the GL reunions, I think that was it though, over how many months? That is why I say that he is simply out of his depth with some actors. It's his show and he's free to do as he chooses but I don't expect much from him and kind of side-eye him at the same time.
  18. They need to leave Guyana alone though, I have friends from there.
  19. I'd love to see Tamara Tunie on a reunion livestream but I seriously doubt Alan is up for that level of truth telling or that tea. Don't confuse character with actress, Tamara is not Jessica! Soap fans sometimes like to put words in people's mouths. I'd actually like to hear from Meg Ryan. She might actually have valid reasons for keeping a distance. Not everyone had the same experience. Alan would be out if his depth with most of the people mentioned. Why can't these guys produce the show and get a knowledgeable host like Roger Newcomb? Alan has had 0 Black actors from ATWT on his live streams and I have questions. Also, Meg Ryan directs and produces a fair amount of television these days so her perspective on the medium may have changed.
  20. Were any mother figures left on GL by '95? Nessa was there but the show seemed more interested in promoting her as a "cougar". Lillian? Uh, no. I can't think of anyone at this point. Bringing back Susan would have been a good time to do so with that vacuum. All Michelle had was an odd assortment of would be surrogate mother types on the canvas anyway.
  21. A few years ago, I referred to Trump as someone with Jim Jones proclivities but I sensed that people thought I was being tongue in cheek then. I was not. Trump has many disturbing similarities with Jones, down to the slavish cult members who view him as their sole means of salvation. With Mike Pompeo running off to Guyana to scout prospects (presumably oil), I am truly unnerved.
  22. The earliest iteration of Grace was as a loyal friend to Sharon but someone who wanted more from life than what her very very hot friend Tony could provide in a relationship and life. When the role was recast with Gareis, Grace became an all-out grasper, an opportunist, as @Dion pointed out. An obsession, of sorts, began over Nick but I don't think you could label Grace as crazy, as she never tried to kill or physically harm anyone as Phyllis has done. One positive attribute that Grace still had was her capacity to care deeply about someone else, that someone being Cassie. I don't see Phyllis ever selflessly loving someone who she wasn't related to by blood, especially if that someone is a child birthed by Sharon that didn't carry Nick's DNA.
  23. Clearly, Alan's definition of big announcement and my definition of big announcement are not the same. No offense.
  24. Julianne Moore? Is he getting a new host?
