Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
There are so many things wrong with the majority of NYC's cultural institutions that I hope that each institution will take the time to fix the rot.

No (although that was a massive haul). I'm talking about the constellation of stars for the virtual conversations and performances. The entire cast of Hamilton, Willie Nelson, Alanis Morrissette, a cavalcade of South Asian celebrities, Jazz musicians like Ravi Coltrane, comedians and politicians like Stacey Abrams and Pete Buttigieg, Tammy Baldwin and Cory Booker and the list goes on...

It's just too bad that not enough people realized how real and active it was four years ago--we might have been in a much better circumstance now.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
It would be nice to be able to see more of the episodes that aired during the show's anniversary. I know we've all seen April 1986, for instance, but what happened on the anniversary episode that aired April 1987? From perusing @Brolden's episode archive thread, I can see that there were many preemptions due to the Iran-Contra hearings but those began in May, not April, which makes me curious. Another random question: was ATWT the only soap that has an episode featuring a family sitting down to eat Easter dinner in the 1980s? Or was this common among the soaps during that era?

Sounds like a plan.👍- The Politics Thread
I forgot to say that, in a large state, it might be better to check with the specific county, but you might also reach your state Secretary of the state via social media to get a response quicker. But I'd advise that you verify the locations of your drop boxes.- The Politics Thread
Does your city have a listing of where all your drop boxes are located? You may want to verify that. Also, if your state has a website where you can track your ballot, you should definitely use that. I did this for the primary and I just verified receipt of my ballot for the general election. City Hall or your Registrar of Voters might have a website or number to call to get your concerns addressed. Also, be thorough, as you are clearly doing so that you can make informed choices but don't take too long-- get your ballot in as early as you can.- The Tennis Thread
It seems like RG didn't do as good a job as the U.S. Open in providing a secure bubble.- The Tennis Thread

What a thorough waste of my time. I should have stayed ignoring this tournament.- The Politics Thread

I meant this year. I just assumed that NBC had given the whole thing over to TC. I guess TC hasn't broadened it's subscriber base wide enough to exclusively handle a Grand Slam, which is just as well since wing nuts now own and operate a considerable share of TC.- The Tennis Thread
NBC has the finals? Yeesh, shows you how little I have been following the tournament this year.😳- The Tennis Thread
Hey, Martin Verkerk got to a final, so the men's side has had its share of duds going the distance in tournaments too. This year's U.S. Open, the women had higher ratings than the men. Overall, both finals nosedived compared to the previous year. It will be interesting to see what this year's RG rankings yield on U.S. Television. Last year's U.S. Open was decent mix of veteran and new prospects all the way up to the finals, while this year, it was tipped too heavily in one direction. I honestly don't know what it means for the future of the sport, except maybe tennis digging deeper into niche status.- The Tennis Thread
Neither was Majoli and yet ... Regardless, it has still got to sting, given the fact that Aga reached a final.- The Tennis Thread
Women's tennis is far more interesting to me than the men's side, which is entirely too hierarchical and predictable.- The Tennis Thread
Deep down, you know Aga has got to feel some kind of way. The women's side always has new champions. It's the men's side that is in desperate need of new champions. - The Politics Thread
