Who Should Go on DAYS?

I think it's a pretty simple list. I think the glaring problems are pretty obvious.

Chelsea - irredeemable

Billie - I loved Lisa Rinna in the role but there's just no more story

Patrick

Kate - She ought to go in a murder mystery

Austin

Carrie - She is a core character, but there's nothing for her to do and her return was badly thought out. She and Austin should get another happy ending.

Phillip - He could return someday, maybe

Roman - I would love to see Wayne Northrop back in the role and restoring Roman to what he once was. But if that's not going to happen, they might as well ship him off on ISA work for the next ten years.

Tek

Bonnie

Frankie - I love Billy Warlock, but what's there for him to really do, especially if the show really needs money? If they can handle it, though, I'd like to see them keep him after all, because he's just so talented.

I am among the few who would like to see Farah Fath stay. I could not stand Mimi at all when she came on the show, but I really like her now for some reason, particularly with Shawn, who I also could not stand with Belle. I recognize that Shawn and Belle as characters probably have to be on the show in some fashion, but I think a recast is desperately in order for Belle, and a new romance. Shawn can be easily recast. I think James Scott and Shayna Rose? is that her name? playing Stephanie are excellent.

Most of the senior Bradys and Hortons can go on recurring to save money. Certainly Peggy McCay and Frank Parker can if they're not already. I wouldn't mind seeing Suzanne Rogers stay on contract but I'd live with it if she wasn't.

I also personally think either John or both John AND Marlena could go, sort of in a way to usher in a new era for the show, but I know that will never happen.

You can also count me in on the list of people who keep hoping for some last minute change for Matt Ashford and Missy Reeves. They're just too good to lose.

Who Should Go:

1. Kate: Quite frankly, Kate's antics have gotten old IMO. There needs to be something done to freshen up the Reed family storylines (particularly in regards to Sami, who I hope gets some much needed character development), and I think Kate's death could be just what the doctor ordered.

2. Roman: If they are not going to bring back Wayne as Roman, then really Roman is going to remain mostly a supporting character. It would probably be better to get rid of the character.

3. Tek: His story with Lexie and Abe is done. Time to say goodbye.

4. Frankie: During that time when DAYS brought back all those characters, Frankie was the one that I questioned most. It seemed a pretty wasteful addition considering the budget crunching. And with Jack and Jen leaving, Frankie is left without a story.

5. Will: Quite frankly, the actor absolutely sucks. I know this departure won't help the budget crisis much at all, but I don't care.

6. Austin: Beyond being a bore and a bad actor, Austin IMO is the one obstacle keeping Sami (and Carrie really) from getting any real character development. They are both so hung up on this man. The story could be best served without him IMO.

7. Bonnie: Good actress. Bad character. At best, they could get rid of Bonnie and bring on Adrienne. If not, than goodbye Judi Evans. Maybe you can come back to GL and save Beth from further character assassination.

8. Jack: Already fired.

9. Jen: Left.

10. Shawn: Ditto.

11. Phillip: Ditto again.

Here's my list made from the current cast:

CONTRACT:

Tek is already on recurring. First one to be changed.

  • Member

Philip---Annoying as hell and a total idiot.

Kate---Skanky repetitive !@#$%^&*]. She needs to die.

Chelsea---Child-killing skank needs to die YESTERDAY!!!

  • Member

I've always thought I'd like it for Billie to move onto and be paired up with Frankie. So I'm holding out hope and keeping her off my list.

Phillip

Belle

Shawn

Mimi

Ok done.

Oh and I forgot Patrick.

Realistically I can see Roman, Frankie, Patrick, and Billie all being written off. Possibly Kate.

Mimi---Why should we have to put up with this poor excuse for an actress? In more capable hands, maybe such as Erin Torpey, Robyn Richards, or Crystal Hunt, Mimi could have been a good but flawed young girl. But instead, we have Farah, who does nothing but whine her lines. I hate to say it, but Charity Rahmer was more entertaining to watch. I hope she still has plans to leave in 2008, because frankly, she should have been kicked out when 2006 hit.

Chelsea---She wasn't needed. She was created to yet again bring forth the Billie/Bo/Hope triangle. Unless they make her Hope's daughter, conceived when the character was off the show as Gina (which would be more interesting), then write her off to college.

Bonnie---Love Judi Evans, but the character hasn't clicked with a whole lot of people, except for JSF.

Patrick---With Patrick gone, we have a family not related by blood to Hortons or Bradys off the show, but the Lockhearts just haven't really made a splash. Even if he's the father of Hope's baby, unless Hogan and the new writers reunite Bo and Hope, and give Hope and Patrick a shot at being a family, then I don't see any use for him.

Tek---self explanatory

Roman---he's just a glorified extra, but I don't see him going unless Corday goes too. As long as Corday wants him around, he's here to stay.

Austin & Carrie---If Sami's latest scheme is exposed, Austin and Carrie will probably be reunited. There's a chance for them to leave, happily ever after. The fanbase for them doesn't seem to be as huge as it was in the 90s.

Shawn Sr.---The actor isn't that good anymore, and I'd like to see the Bradys reacting to his death.

Will---I agree with getting rid of Chris Gerse, waiting a few years, then bringing him back with a better actor.

Cook and Brandt are out, but I'm sure they'll be recasted.

Fath will hopefully leave in 2008, and she'll probably be recasted as well.

I definitely think Lawrence and Carly should be back NOW more than ever. If ever there was a time right to bring back these characters, it is now. And Nicholas should be in towe too. Nicholas and Belle? That would be interesting.

Is John still an Alamain? He's Lawrence's half-brother thru their father and Tony's half-brother thru their mother, if memory serves. Which makes Nicolas and Belle cousins...by blood.

Kate Roberts- I think at one point her sole purpose of meddling in her children's lives is going to seem very pointless to the point where she will just be let go. Kate hasn't had her OWN story for years. Koslow is great but logistically she is at a point where she can easily be written off.

I think the day Lauren Koslow leaves Days, I'm gone, too. I know that's ridiculous to say, but I LOVE the woman. Lauren Koslow is just a goddess. I can't imagine Days without her, even in my worst nightmares. If/when Lauren ever leaves Days, I don't think I'll EVER get over the loss. Salem wouldn't be [!@#$%^&*] without Kate Roberts!

Carrie and Austin- Have them leave town together soon so they can get Sami and Lucas together.

Chelsea- She sickens me, kill her off or sentence her to twenty five years or life in jail or put her in a coma (I did in my blog.)

Tek- No meaning on the show any more, now that Abe knows about him and Lexie he can leave town or something.

Mimi- After this whole thing with Claire's paternity is over I think they should kill her off.

Bonnie- She has no meaning on the show either, lets have her leave town.

Patrick- Send him to jail once everyone finds out who he is working for.

Jason Cook- Recast Shawn.

Philip- I tink he should just leave town after this whole thing with Shawn is over and then bring my crazy Jan back. :D

Kate- All she does is meddle in people's lives and if the writers won't give her a personnal storyline just have her leave town.

To start with: Matt Ashford shouldn't be going anywhere.

I'd axe:

Patrick

Kate

Bonnie

Mimi(Farah Fath can't act, in my opinion)

Shawn(Jason Cook leaving the show would be it for the character)

Phillip

Roman

Marlena(Sick of Deirdre Hall)

John(Drake Hogestyn should have been fired years ago)

Chelsea

Lexie

Tek

If Kyle Brandt(Phillip) and Jason Cook(Shawn) really leave, both roles should be re-cast, maybe with Jay Kenneth Johnson return as Phillip so we wouldn't have to get used to a new-new Phillip. I'd pick Chad Brannon (ex-Zander, GH) as Shawn.

I axe Chelsea, make the !@#$%^&*] pay for her crimes, maybe kill her off.

I agree with what a lot of you have been saying about Kate. Kill her off in a fab murder mystery. But I do really love Lauren Koslow.

I do wish Wayne Northrop would return as Roman.

I really don't wanna see much more axing.

I don't get all this "Kate needs to go!" crap. Her children and grandchildren populate 40+ percent of the show! If it were any other family, people would be saying to bring back the mother/grandmother of the family and get her involved.

Yes, Kate needs her own story. I understand that. But she has connections with far too many people in Salem and she has way too much family to just leave the show. There are too many opportunities to use her as a way of creating friction on-screen to just let her go.

I love Koslow, and agree that Kate should stay. She's diva all the time, especially when it concerns her kids. But I think if the show is going to take a stab at a character that should get the axe, that is big and can provide story that Kate would be the first one (it should be Roman). Kate needs her own story, pronto.

I don't think Kate should go. Lauren has chemistry with a lot of the other cast members, both male and female, and Kate has connections to almost everyone on the show, related or not. The writers need to do something different with her than be the meddling mama. And anyone that gives Sami hell is OK in my book!

  • Member

Kate should go nowhere. Lauren is a great actress and there is so much to do with her. They just need to give her more to do the meddling. Koslow and Pinson both should stay-Days needs them especially since without the Roberts/Reed clan that leaves us with only the Lockharts as far as other families. Otherwise, everyone is related  .
