Clearly DAYS is going to lose some great actors in this transition period. I know we all can pick 10 names of people who should be out and serve ABSOLUTELY no purpose on the show but it seems like the show is going to get rid of bigger names as well.

From a storyline standpoint these characters are at a point where they can easily be OFF-ed.

Kate Roberts- I think at one point her sole purpose of meddling in her children's lives is going to seem very pointless to the point where she will just be let go. Kate hasn't had her OWN story for years. Koslow is great but logistically she is at a point where she can easily be written off.

Billie Reed- Pinson is great, and Billie is a character with so much potential. I was re-watching Maison Blanche tapes and it's amazing what a layered character Billie was in 94. She was hurt, feared love and her love for Bo was real. If they plan on keeping her I think they HAVE to tap into this. Otherwise, enough of the Bo tagging. Let her go!

Roman- If Ashford can go right after re-signing his contract, there is no reason why Taylor can't. Roman has been purpose-less and so "high maintenence" for over 5 years!! (Or less? Or whatever...) Right now it's hard imagining Roman being the character he ever was. He doesn't seem viable at all in another Roman/John/Marlena go around. He seems more fit for a Shawn Brady kind of role now and thus should be off contract PRONTO.

Phillip- When all of this crap blows over Phillip will be the weakest link. This quad can't go on like that for long because it's clear Belle is going to want Shawn and will have all rights to him. I know Brandt is supposed to be leaving but nothing official has been said about him or Cook.

Bonnie- She should be dropped to recurring. She's cute. She's lovable. But tolerable in small amounts IMO. I don't think a good storyline would be worth the effort.

I think Brody Hutzler should join Ashford, Reeves and uncertainty Warlock, but Patrick's involvement in Hope's life actually seems like it has potential and a purpose now.

If Cook and Brandt both leave that would be 4 contracts off and potentially Warlock if what Gabe says is true. That's 5 big contracts and five major characters off the show.

Cook and Brandt are already leaving, but we don't know if Shawn and Philip are leaving.

I think Billie should stay because she has the potential to hook up almost everyone in town. DAYS can't just have Hortons and Bradys, it's already too incestuous. LOL If you get rid of someone like Billie, I say bring back Carly (recast if you need to or wait for Chappelle).

If Shawn and Philip leave, who's going to be replace them in that demographic? Jeremy Horton? Give EJ a brother?

I agree with getting rid of Roman. He's not needed. But Josh Taylor is Ken Corday's best friend, so throw that idea out.

If we totally get rid of the Lockharts, I say we bring in EJ's family from England.

In addition to Jack and Jen (two big high-paying contract out who are out already and Frankie (another big contract out), Shawn, and Philip who appear to be gone next, I think the following should happen:

-Patrick out

-Bonnie and Roman to recurring or out (Corday would never let Taylor go but if Hogan has control then who knows). Evans would be ok as Adrienne if they want to do that but she gets paid alot so maybe she should go.

-Mimi out (Fath said she should leave in 2008 anyway so cut your losses)

-Tek is on recurring so cut him completely.

-Cut Shawn Sr.

That should be enough I would think. I do think the show will put Maggie, Caroline, and Shawn Sr on recurring though which is cool I guess. I am very worried about Julie Pinson though. With Jack and Frankie leaving and if Patrick goes, I can totally see Billie right behind them but Chelsea may be what saves Pinson from being fired since Chelsea will need her mother.

The bottom line is Days will be losing 3 big contracts with Reeves, Warlock (if really gone), and Ashford out and that is where the cuts needed to be made. We knew some heavyweights would have to go and that is 3 right there. Plus, we have already heard the big stars were asked to take cuts so if they all take them and don't leave that helps and even if some leave that really helps. Cook and Brandt leaving gets some money off the books but that is not much-which is why I keep telling people that cutting minor characters does nothing for budget issues. If Patrick, Tek, Roman, Bonnie, Mimi, etc are cut or put on recurring I think that would be enough if you put in stars taking pay cuts, the 3 big contracts already being mentioned to be out, and using less sets and firing staff and such.

Right but they will most likely go for newbies in the roles and that won't be too expensive. Jay Johnson may be if they bring him back but it won't be too much on the budget-not like J&J/Frankie most likely are.

1. Brandt/Phillip - Phillip could use another break from Salem.

2. Cook - Keep Shawn. Re-Cast with a TALENTED newbie a la Martha Madison. A cheaper actor and a better one could do wonders for the budget AND for the Belle/Shawn/Mimi triangle.

3. Josh Taylor/Roman - I'd like to see Roman take another break from Salem.

4. and 5. Matt and Missy - obviously. Hehe.

6. Warlock - He's talented, but without Jack and Jen. Eh. I'd bump him to recurring at the very most.

7. Shawn Sr./Frank Parker - Parker cannot act, frankly. Shawn Sr. sucks. I hate every scene he is in. Take a chance like you did with Zach, DAYS, kill him off and squeeze every ounce of good material you can out of it.

8. Patrick/Hutzler - awful character and an awful actor.

9. Rhasaan Orange/TEK - I know he was bumped to recurring, but get rid of him all together. He's not worth even using on a recurring basis.

10. Chris Gerse/Will - It's time for Will to go to boarding school for a while and come back in a few years with someone better in the role. The fact that Gerse can even call himself an actor at all is a travesty.

11. Josh - not needed. Can't act. Get rid of him.

12. James Scott/E.J. - I am all for new blood, but the character has to be likable. He's annoying. This is like Patrick all over again.

13. Judi Evans/Bonnie - I adore Evans, but Bonnie doesn't fit in with the cast and doesn't sit well with most fans. It would kill me. It would literally pain me, but I'd write Bonnie out.

14. Farah Fath/Mimi - I would let this storyline run its course and also her contract, but when 2008 or late 2007 rolls around and the story has played out, I would cut her. Let her leave town. In congruence with the rest of this list, she'd be the last Lockhart gone by that point. But she should definitely leave after this storyline. Fath just goes through the motions now. She's so lifeless in scenes its ridiculous. Not to mention, the character of Mimi SUCKS. Everyone begged and begged for Fath to get a story, including myself. And ever since the day two years ago when Mimi started bleeding from her crotch, I and mostly all other DAYS fans have been regretting wanting a bigger story for her. She sucks. LET HER GO! And *NO* re-cast. Just see this story out and send her on her way!

15. Writers - They got rid of a bunch of the writers, already, so GOOD!

I was thinking about Taylor and Corday too, but hey, if Hogan is in charge, the logical thing would be to get Taylor and Roman out of there. I almost think that Taylor knows he serves no purpose, you can see in his acting!! LOL.

I definitely think Lawrence and Carly should be back NOW more than ever. If ever there was a time right to bring back these characters, it is now. And Nicholas should be in towe too. Nicholas and Belle? That would be interesting.

I also agree that Billie should stay but they have to start writing for her as a character and not as "Bo Lover".

I completely agree with you about Shawn Sr, Roman, Philip, Frankie and Stephanie. I don't want Bonnie on recurring though...she needs to go for good. Also either get rid of Patrick or recast.

I would think Hogan already has his story outlined and he will use the characters required to play out the stories and it may involve some that we think are wasted or useless so keep that in mind.

From what I'm hearing, Marlena has not renewed her contract which is due now. Drake hasn't either but he has until January, I believe. If Marlena leaves, Drake and Kate will renew their romance....I understand that is Drake or was his preference anyway.

It would seem likely that the Lockharts should go, but they may be just exactly what Hogan needs to play out a part of his story. I'm not entirely excluding that but other than a story, of course, they need to go.

Carrie and Austin probably will be written off like Chloe and Brady. Lucas may be sent to recurring until it's appropriate to revive Sami and Lucas (if ever) because I'm thinking Sami is about to begin another adventure.

Most likely Kayle and Steve, Bo and Hope, and I HOPE JACK with Billie will get involved with more ISA type work digging into Steve's disappearance and solve that mystery. It may be John involved instead of Jack and can you see Kate in this story?????? Really different for her. Might be interesting. Kate and Hope together. Beautiful.

Billy Warlock has asked to be released and unless Hogan can show him an excellent future with Days, I think he will go. I don't think Jen will be recast but I still hope for Jack's survival.

I think Philip, Belle, & Shawn all need to go off to a university in another location. Mimi is needed as I see a story coming up for her.

Victor has wanted out for a few years. He may get his wish and so Days would be without the Kirkiakis family leaving room for EJ Wells family to move into the Kirkiakis mansion....or if Stefano is his family, the will move into the DiMera mansion and leave the Kirkiakis mansion for John and Kate.....(I can see your faces heehee).

Jean-Drake's contract is not up until 2008. I beleive Jason47 made that clear a few weeks ago and Dee's contract is up in August but her and Drake are returning in August so if she were going I don't know if that makes sense. Days won't go for Jate again-they are losing J&J they won't breakup J&J or let Marlena go now.

Jack is out-Days will not be changing their mind so that idea isn't possible.

I can;t see John Aniston leaving when the show barely uses him now. He says he loves recurring and loves only working off and on so can;t see him wanting out when he likes to work the pace he is at. I also can't see Days writing off Carrie and Austin since they will be trying to keep some of the other couples now with J&J leaving and Carrie is a Brady-they just got CC back she isn't going nowhere. I also can't see Bryan Dattilo going recurring. He just signed a new deal and that would piss off many fans and LUMI fans.

Belle, Philip, and co are not university anymore. The show dropped that and they are far too old now for that. They wouldn't drop all them and keep Mimi-that would be suicide.

I also can't see Days bringing on a whole new family. Fans are going to be pissed abotu cast changes and will not accept a new family like that right away. Days would have to wait on that.

The part about Billy Warlock I buy though. I can't see Days giving Alice anymore then they do now-her health is too much of a factor sadly.

As for the Lockharts, I hope your not right but I honestly think at least Judi Evans will be cut to recurring or fired.

They are flashes from what I've put together out of all I've read. I am pretty sure Drake is out in 2007 though because I checked that not long ago thinking he and Marlena were both up near the same time. Many people now are worried about Marlena not staying and I wouldn't be surprised if she might have something new to work on to leave Days for....never know but it is possible.

I think Austin and Carrie will go. They do not have a huge fan base and there needs to be room for growth in new directions with new characters.

There are rumors about Days bringing in a new family...has been for some time.

I love Victor, but even if Shawn, Sr. passed away, Caroline would never have more than a warm friendship with Victor. It's the whole part of the story of her life that she intends to live out. One man, like Alice. So, I can see Victor moving back to Greece, especially if they kill off Philip.

You are never too old to go to college. I keep hoping reference is made to the young adults continuing online and lab work locally and soon Belle and Philip would have their degrees......but nope. No one did that for them and maybe Philip will soon be gone forever.

If Sami and Lucas get together...that will end their purpose on the show. Sami has something to do, I'm almost certain on that and it won't involve Lucas. With Carrie and Austin gone and probably Will off to boarding school, there is no need for Lucas unless he is written into a story we have no idea about yet.

Hogan is rumored to love Farah and I've heard that she has a huge storyline coming up which does not involve the others. This is sort of out of the mouths of knowledge.

I just hope that Hogan will reinstate Jack because he is just too much to let go.

I forget Tek, but that is because he is on recurring, we have not seen him and probably won't.

I am not ready to give up on Austin and Carrie yet. However, they will need a good storyline to salvage the hot mess that JER created.

I am not sure about all that Jean. If Days gets rid of those you mentioned, I am very worried about the show. I am not buying any of that. Maybe some but as a whole no.

If Hogan loves Farah and gives her a story, I just may vomit. Ugh .
