Missy Reeves confirmed at a fan event Feb 19-20, 2022 that Abigail dies.  Didn't say the manner of death.  Missy said she wasn't available for taping those scenes, so Cady McClain would be airing for that.

The date of Abigail's death was not revealed.  However Cady posted (and then deleted) a picture of herself in a Days dressing room on January 6, 2022.

^ quoting Kenny's posts from January 29.
All I've heard is what Kenny said there.

The point is that she dies and something graphic is shown onscreen - that makes it obvious that she's really most sincerely dead.  (Not missing and presumed dead).

And (for whatever reasons) the show was not able to work out a longterm fulltime thing with either Miller or Mansi.

We know that he death could be undone at any time, of course, because this is DAYS.  But I think it is being done this way so as to give the character a long rest.  Then maybe someday in the future they will be able to find a recast that fits and wants to commit.

Well, why not do that NOW then? I mean, there must be tons of aspiring actresses in California looking for their big break. This random killing of "big" characters is NEVER thought out. See the return of Bo as further proof.

There is no reason to do this except Ron wants to use shock and awe. And NBC should also know better by now. The last graphic death with Frankie Frame on AW helped to put another nail in the coffin of that soap.

Or maybe that's the whole point...

Agree.

I'm with @Wendy.  If they can't find an actor who will commit long-term to playing Abigail, then just rest the character for the time being.  This isn't an Abby (Y&R) situation, where I don't think any amount of recasts or changes in purpose will help what I believe to be a dead-end character.  I think there's still life in Abigail Deveraux; they just need to wait until they find the right girl.

We can only hope.

So sending Abigail to Boston for a few months wasn't an option? Or someone spiking Abigail's tea and having her lose her mind (again)?  I guarantee this story will not play well at all.

@Wendy when I read the spoiler, I immediately thought of Frankie (AW).

Is this Possession-related or is it part of a completely new storyline?

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking

    • And, to me it is a little bit hilarious that AW fans all over continue to refer to it as Egyptian Dust Recently elsewhere I've been running polls. When did you stop watching AW or What storyline caused you to stop watching AW. You may be interested to know that sticking it out till the bitter end is winning by a landslide. Next highest vote getter is - no surprise - Frankie's murder. So that covers like 60% & next 20%. Then the votes drop way down to 10% and well below but a wide array of reasons are given, including but not limited to  Justine Lumina Rachel having twins at her age, how ridiculous Mac's death the 90 minute show firing JC, George R & Dwyer Hmm, I know there are a few more, in the 1%-3% range but I cannot think of what they are. Sorry, my bad. Should have made notes but I didn't know I would be posting about it. LOL!!
    • A kind angel has added both episodes to the vault (UK Diva TV broadcast version).
    • Yes, I think that is the most likely situation.  TPTB were unhappy with the offer(s) they got from the tourism board in Finland, and decided the trip was going to be too expensive for P&G/NBC to finance alone.   I would also speculate a similar situation likely occurred a few years later with the planned location shoot in Egypt, which was also cancelled after the storyline had already started, and changed to Arizona.
