The first time I remember seeing Rademacher was on a show called Paradise Beach, that was running on WPIX 11, a NYC television network. Of all the actors on that short-lived soap, he was probably the one who seemed to have the least acting ability. Still, I wasn't surprised to see him turn up on American television. I am surprised that such a mediocre actor lasted so long.

I guess the illusion of being a nice guy took him far. Now, that illusion has burst into the open and here we are.

I am going to be honest.  I don't think Ingo is that bad of an actor.  I think when he gets decent material (which is rare) he's actually pretty good.   I think he's someone who actually improved a lot from when he started.   Plus, he used to be charismatic as hell.

Anyhow, I thought he was a super chill, nice guy for years.  I thought he was underused and got the crap end of the stick for MB/Sonny and loved when he called SBu out about his juice stuff.   Weird how quickly things change.

I think one can be effective at playing a certain type of specific role but overall, not a very good actor.

For instance, as much as I like Jennifer Hudson and I was pleased for her Oscar win, I think she is effective at playing a certain type of role, otherwise...nah. Fortunately, she's got a powerhouse voice (though the producers and songwriters have done her a disservice), so she has talent without question, but her acting range is limited.

I think Ingo's acting is fine on the show. I do appreciate that Jax is the one character that gets to hate on Sonny and Jason, but besides that, Jax is really expendable. He really just has Joss and that's it, and she's 18 and at college now. He doesn't have a pairing or a story. There are no loose ends that need to be tied up with him. They could honestly just stop showing him and I wouldn't even notice. Or they could just say he needs to go back to Australia for business. It wouldn't affect anything, other than Joss has to find somewhere else to do her laundry.

Yeah, I get it.  I think he's pretty good at playing Jax.  I don't ever think IR is phoning in his performances.  I thought he was good with Brenda's 'death' and when she blew up at S&B's wedding and Jax started yelling at Sonny.  IR isn't going to win any awards, but I always thought he was serviceable.   I can't imagine him playing a bunch of other roles with range, so the way you are describing it is perfect.

I also agree with pretty much everybody that Jax does not need to be recast.  It is a character that has coasted on a triangle/pairing that has been over for 2 decades.

Wasn't there a rumor that he was very litigious and threatened to sue for wrongful termination?

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
