I like Charles Shaughnessy, but why is he getting a contract while Kin Shriner, Jon Lindstrom, and Tristan Rogers are lucky to get table scraps from this show? #firefrank should focus on the scene stealers he has  rather than booking other actors he'll grow bored with <looking at you Michael E. Kniight>. Not to mention the missed opportunity to bring JLH back, killing him off, off-screen, without even a mention until the turd er toad er smirking wonder AusFrankenTodd showed up.

We can be sure that he won't be Jeff Webber or Tom Hardy because we can't have toys to play with that aren't re-treads or OLTL leftovers.

While Shaughnessy is British, it is possible for a British actor to have an American accent. That not me saying anything about his character since we don't know who he'll be playing.

Right, of course.  I made an assumption that Charles Shaughnessy could do only a British character - because of his roles on Days and The Nanny. But I should not make assumptions! He might be able to portray a character with an average USA accent. I wouldn't know because I haven't seen everything he's ever acted in.   He has lived in the USA for decades and has "proud American" in his twitter bio.

yeah, this whole Sunny amnesia SL seems dumb af w/o her (or at least Sarah Brown). It would actually be funny + a shocking twist if Sunny got all his memories back... but they were devoid of Carley, and he only wanted Brenda. I think that would be a pretty satisfying twist, and I'm not even a Sonny/Brenda stan. LOL

Or he could have no memories and just fall in love with her all over again.  But it just doesn't seem very Brenda to totally keep him from his family so I am hit or miss on that.

I do think there is a story to tell there and not with Nina.   I am a Sonny/Brenda stan so I would like a story that has the least collateral damage for them.  I think I would rather him get his memories back and realize Brenda is his true love and just break it off with Carly.

Y&R did that storyline already (and Josh Morrow was at this scruffy and hot fine-ness).

But serious...while I'm like the Sonny storyline...having no Brenda (or Sarah Brown) will always feel like a missing link to that storyline.

Imagine Brenda (and Sonny in a lesser role) and Sarah Brown's Carly/Sean Kanan's A.J. squaring off in business on a streaming GH. You can't, it's too powerful! But it's what should happen.

I think the best time for Brenda to rock up would be just before Sonny makes it back to Port Charles, perhaps something Deception related as a favour to Brook Lynn and Lucy. We also get the obligatory visit from Brenda to Sonny's grave. Then Sonny returns and it plays out from there. I'm happy for it to go either way, either Sonny remembers Brenda and not Carly or Sonny remembers neither and falls in love with Brenda all over again.

I think Brenda coming to town for something completely unrelated to Sonny would be the best.   I do like the idea of Sonny and Brenda falling in love all over again.  I don't even hate the Carson pairing, I just don't think it does either character justice.  They lack any sort of romantic chemistry and are just boring.

    • I thought Daniel Goddard did a great job in those scenes with Joss. He might be the rare villain this show got rid of too soon, because it feels like he had great potential as a character we'd love to hate.
    • @titan1978 About 80% of what you said is untrue. But believe what you want.

At some point, Victor, you must blame yourself that both Caroline and Fiona didn't want him to know they bore his sons.  But, looking back, I thought Bo would be richer as Victor's firstborn son than he turned out to be.

    • How did you guess that! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. Anita was serving "solo artist" realness the whole time. Stole the show.

    • Bye bye Dalton. Unfortunately this is going to fall on Sonny though, when for once he didn’t kill anyone.

"Grief, mental illness... and a handjob." Let's get done with the hardcore drama first... before we continue with the lighter stuff. Bo's condition worsened after the hot psychiatrist gave the risky idea to SHOW him Sarah's body. Dr. Jonas is triggering these people into catastrophes every day. It's almost like he gets pleasure out of this. Well... they did show him Sarah and the result was BAD. Bo went into a crazy meltdown, locked himself with the corpse... and started putting blankets on her to warm her up. Disturbing scene... yet powerful work from Robert S. Woods. Bo's resolve came at the end of December 7th's episode when he let Viki come inside and talk to him. I've chosen this as the clip of the day - anyone who ever underestimates or puts down soap actors, just because they are working in a soap... should see this. And then we'll talk. Very powerful.  Viki did what she does best - performed a miracle almost, getting Bo to open up and let the family in. And after that... everyone was looking at her like she is God. The children... Clint himself... everyone standing by the door expecting "savior Viki" to continue being the mother figure they desperately need. But Viki is also a woman. Woman, whose heart is no longer in that house with Clint... She wants to be with Sloan so bad... she has started looking at her husband in a different, colder way. He even came to her bedroom in his robe, probably expecting Viki to invite him in... but he got a chilly response.  Alongside Bo's terrifying breakdown... there were some grim events unfolding at Asa's house as well. Dorian and Blair's fighting made Addie become aggressive towards Asa of all people. She attempted to stab him with a pair of scissors. Asa then finally said "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!". It's either the baby or your sick mother. She must make a choice. What he doesn't realize... is that there is no baby. When he decided to contact Blair's doctor to inquire about her pregnancy... she knew she had to act FAST - likely fake a miscarriage. Jesus Christ, Blair!  This leads me to the storyline that consistently disappoints and undermines the overall mood of the show. Just picture having these intense storylines - involving... family, breakups, betrayal, grief, mental illness, and manipulation... and then suddenly, you see Alex giving Mortimer a handjob in the Buchanan Palace restaurant amidst all these other powerful scenes. Some might argue that this is precisely why such moments are there - to dilute the drama and darkness... but the result is far from enjoyable. It turns the entire show into a circus. You can't expect me to be emotional in one scene and then witness Alex reaching into Mortimer's pants... without cringing. It's a bit too abrupt... too early. It ruins everything and makes me despise... despise the characters involved. It's pathetic.    Overall -  6.5/10 - it would be a perfect 10 if you removed Alex and Mortimer. But I can't do that and I've decided it's enough giving them (the writers) slack about this. It's annoying, not funny and needs to end. If this was Bold... I would have been tearing them to pieces... but just because they've given me so much good material... I've forgiven idiocy time and time again. I have nothing against handjobs (quite the contrary actually), but I can't see them in the midst of a man crying over a corpse and a mentally ill woman attacking someone with scissors.    Clip of the day Viki consoles grieving Bo.
