B&B to air classic episodes

Aside from the cringe-inducing Rick/Phoebe semi-incest, today's episode was strong. Despite the retcon issues, Pamela and Ann added so many dimensions to Stephanie and Alley Mills and Betty White were exquisitely cast. This was one of the few times when B&B's stunt casting paid off. Also liked seeing Lesli Kay and and Ashley Jones sharing scenes. They both deserved better material and more prominent stories.

The scenes at the Forrester mansion were incredible, with Stephanie justifying her work at House of Forrester to both Ann and Eric. Today's classic ep didn't have any big weddings, parties or epic confrontations, it just showed a soap doing what soaps do best - domestic psychodrama.

Enjoyed the 1998 episode but sad to think by 2003/2004 they har either burned through so much story or gotten bored with Amber/Rick and the rest of the younger crew.

This 2007 episode may be one of the best episodes of Bold I have ever seen. Those scenes between Stephanie and her mother and then with Eric (amazing dialogue too!)were great. I can never seem to get into Kyle Lowder and this is my first time seeing Phoebe. I wish I could say I thought they at least had chemistry.

Actually it was when Brooke was working on getting Deacon to leave Bridget! She was going on a tangent on how Amber was the true love of Deacon's life (passion, destiny, and all that crap) and how he was only settling with Bridget in spite of his growing feelings for her, and let it slip that she knew the way Deacon felt because it's how she felt about Ridge, and eventually admitted not in so many words that she settled for Thorne. Thorne overheard this comparison which of course sent him off the rails. This went over a period of a week or two (all happened on the same day) and there was a ton of back and forth with Thorne considering going back to Brooke at Big Bear after cooling down only to find Brooke in Ridge's arms. It was a hot mess lmao.

These conversations with Deacon continued to happen over the course of a few months until of course they ended up conceiving Bridget.

Gina Rodriguez has had a decent enough career, but... meh.

All of the Thomases after Drew Tyler Bell have been absolute himbos.

It’s funny that Scott Clifton is so hot in person, but it doesn’t really translate on screen that well.

After watching all of these recent “classic” episodes and comparing to episodes we’ve watched this year, it’s crazy how much the show’s style and characterizations has changed over these last few years.

If we didn’t know it for a fact, I would not believe that all of these different periods were written, and produced by the same person.

I’m surprised they didn’t choose any of the abuse confrontation episodes from December 2006 which would have been a worthy two special alone. But this 2007 episode was amazing along 1-2 More before - unfortunately - Betty White more or less left the show again until being killed off years later.

Finally! At least 2 classic episodes from long ago!

Sally!

Sheila!

Taylor!

the 2018 and 2019 are unneeded but were all very good, too.

The 1995 episode is sooooo good. Too bad they will not show the entire goodbye party which lasted 2-3 episodes. I remember being glued to the TV and in utter shock by the ending...

Great choice - didn’t dare to dream to see it again. The 1992 episode is also a standout. Although we have seen it on the Polish Marek Logan channel - and it has a slightly dated feel to it. Plus Sally&Stephanie hat better spat-outs, but it is the first pool dive for Miss Spectra and therefore legendary.

Interesting choices. I'm most excited about that Stephanie vs. Sally episode.

That 1995 episode - is that when Hunter was wearing that wig and using that terrible accent because nobody knew Taylor was alive yet?

date: Friday, May 2 | Teresa Zimmerman, Judy Tate | Steven Williford The drama-rama is drama'ing! This is juicier than the freshest of fresh peaches picked right from its home. Deadbeat, finally able to get his frustrations out physically on someone; instead of it being Bradley, it's Dana. I love the unraveling of Dana's names (Leslie, Sherry, Anna, et al.). It's juicy. And look at Dr Carlton, chiming in. I love the way Anita and Dani fled to Nicole's side, and then Vernon trying to excuse everyone but "immediate family" (and I am sure Mona as well) from the room. Dana is coming undone. She really is. Her numerous ways of pronouncing "Teddy" to everyone. Oh, Nicole's collapse into a furious Anita hearing "lover" coming from Dana's mouth. BILL KNOWS SOMETHING! His all-too-casual non-denial shows he knew about something concerning the affair, and of course the child bride wants to know what it is. Love that Shanice visited Vanessa; I wonder what kind of friendship they may actually have. Well, now we know Bill's involvement, AND the bombshell has been dropped: Eva is [supposedly] Ted's daughter he thought Dana aborted. "Smarty Marty". Whew. Good name for Deadbeat. I appreciate Dani's anger and hurt being focused into anger and love for Nicole. Dana swishing her way out of the main part of the country club to her closet was everything. A soap villain sashaying her way from the havoc she's wrecked. I appreciate that both Anita and Vernon are assuring Mona is not to blame in this. She's an innocent in this. But her looks to Eva? Those could cut like a butter knife. Douglas knows Vanessa has cheated and is continuing to cheat. ARE WE ABOUT TO GET KATHERINE VERSUS TED?! Oh, this is going to be even juicier than I could have ever asked for. CAN PEOPLE STOP SITTING ON TABLES! IT'S SO ANNOYING! Dana's little daydream of talking to Nicole was everything; that's the "crazy" (a.k.a., mental illness). Billy boy, it's time for your turn in the hot seat. Stop rubbing toes and get your ass to the main house. Not Dana showing up at the Dupree home. Oh, what does she have planned next?! Whew... chile. General notes: Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana) gave an empowered performance in today's episode. She commanded the set that day. This is an Emmy-worthy supporting performance. Ambyr Michelle (Eva) is one that has really shown in the past few episodes; she's another young star in the making. She embodies Eva in every single sense. She brings the scripts to life through her craft. Maurice Johnson (Ted) brought nothing. I'm not surprised he was recast at this point. Keith D. Robinson would have rocked these scenes and actually presented something to the table.
    • I agree!  I'm excited to see if Nicole forgives Ted, if Ted accepts Eva, if Kat accepts Eva, what happens with Leslie... if Martin's story will play into any of this...
    • I like that I don't know what direction they are going in next for this storyline. It's a great place to be for a fan like myself!
    • I am so appreciative of the camaraderie of watching BTG in real time with other posters here
    • not sure what the costume designer was trying to say about anita with that monstrosity of a necklace.
    • Me too - Andre is a nice guy and I love to see it.
    • I knew that scene wasn't real LOL. Dream sequence.

I like that Andre is being nice to her
    • Wait, was Nicole really there in that scene with Leslie or was she just talking to herself? Nicole vanished.
